  1. More than litter, they destoryed all the young trees as well. So sad to see, but par for the course these days unfortunately.
  2. I think it's pretty obvious that customers are the new beta testers. This extends to more than just metal detector companies. A company will get much more encompassing information and faster from actual users than from selected beta testers who may not be motivated to report flaws like actual customers will. But as long as the updates keep coming, which have been put out pretty quickly, eventually we'll get a finished product.
  3. Wow, another incredible hunt, sohn! The bullet catagory alone is staggering and looks like there are some older ones in there. Good job, now get some rest, man!
  4. Awesome finds and each has it's own story. That ring is very intriquing and probably has the most interesting story. Since most of the common foot soldiers in the day came from poor families, I can imagine it was quickly fashioned for a hasty wedding just before Johnny goes marching off to war never to return, and the ring remained lost in that spot until you found it almost 160 years later. Very cool find!
  5. Thank you for the detailed information, ColonelDan! Hopefully this will prevent problems for D2 users until XP can get this fixed.
  6. LOL, I guess we have to be careful what we ask for! I watched the video again and I may be wrong but it seems like the Big Numbers stay on screen longer. Have you compared the Big Numbers TID display time with the normal numbers TID display time?
  7. Nice relics of a bygone era, well done! Those heart heel plates got around back in the day. A buddy of mine found one in a Colorado gold rush town. Great finds!
  8. I was curious if you had the latest update. Do you use the large numbers and if so how do you like it?
  9. Very cool finds! The Minie Balls are most likely Union and the smaller bullet is probably a much more modern brass jacketed .45 Auto round. The spikes are interesting too, given the description of the round fortification protecting the bridge, it was likely a gun emplacement for a small artillery piece. Good Hunting!
  10. Dang, I'm out of likes too, but when the wife tells you to go detecting, that's a good day! Cool button too!! 😉
  11. Well I'm already out of likes for the day... I wonder how many we get... anyway, awesome coin finds and that Barber is beautiful, well done!
  12. That lock is awesome, and silver to boot! That's a great day, well done!
  13. I feel like that too when good finds are scarce, which can be often lately, but everything you find tells you something and nothing beats getting out with the detector. Maybe we can get SteveH to make a "Show Us Your Trash" forum, I could fill that up quick! 🤣
  14. It's not awkward at all. The "S" part is close enough to the Nox handle that I dont even see it when swinging the detector, and the coil control is greatly enhanced IMHO. The straight is great with the 15" coil, but the "S" is the bomb with the 11", 10x5", and 6" coils! 😎
  15. Great explanation phrunt! The darker parts circled are the rubber outer sleeve over the plastic case.
  16. Great find and quite a mystery. As Chase pointed out the countersunk hole and the long screw, I doubt it would be a buckle. The 6 stamped on it could indicate a size. I thought it might be a receiver hitch of some sort but I don't see any wear from being in contact with other metal parts. So now I think that maybe it was designed for thick leather straps, perhaps to tie down cargo on a wagon, carriage, or stagecoach.
  17. Wow, I've never found a watch winder before, I had no idea. Thanks!
  18. I decided to take my Nox with my new S-Shaft for a walk a couple of days ago to scout out a park I had been to before that used to have some houses on it between the late 1800s to 1960. The last time there I had found some wheat pennies, a WWII Army Great Seal coat button, some older looking brass suspender clips, and various other older looking artifacts. This area has some huge trees on it and when investigating I found a few of the older trees that had bed frames that had been enveloped by the trees as they grew. I figured there had to be more old items there so I decided to go back and try my luck. Well I wasn't there about 10 minutes when a Parks Department truck pulled up behind me on the side walk running through the middle of the park, so I figured my luck had just run out. Then another PD truck pulled up behind him, and then another. I was looking for my quickest getaway route when another truck with a back hoe on a trailer pulled up. A couple of the Parks Dept. workers gave a wave as they exited their trucks, but most of them just ignored me and got to work. There had been two trees that had blown over during the last wind storm and the stumps were still there, so they were there to remove the stumps. I just kept detecting at a safe distance and about 30 minutes later they had pulled the stumps, loosely filled the holes with whatever dirt came off of the stumps, and left. Well no one else was around so I thought, maybe this is my lucky day. Well after an hour or so of poking around the two stump holes and removing some old nails, bottle caps, and crockery, I got a few interesting signals. One was a jean button top which I don't think is too old. The next one was odd but solid 18 on the Nox and out came a square shaped pendant that says "The Deans List" on it. Well I was about to move on when I got a bouncy 22-23 coming through. I thought maybe it's a Wheatie or possibly an Indian Head penny, but what came out was an odd looking ring with one blue ball on it. I figured it was junk, but after wiping off the inside I could see "Sterling USA" stamped in it. Woohoo... Silver! I spent the next 15 minutes or so sifting the dirt for the missing ball with no luck, but It's a silver ring. I have no idea of the age but it's definitely different and I'll take it. The finds on the right side of the red line, except the crusty zincolns, are all from the stump holes. The gold looking ring which isn't stamped came from the field near the tree stumps along with the coins, the oldest of which was a 1959 Memorial penny. So while it wasn't an eath shattering day, I still got silver by being in the right place at the right time. Thanks for reading.
  19. Oops, sorry, I must have missed that somehow. 🧐
  20. F350Platinum dig a great indepth review and follow up on the XPointer Max he uses in the field. I have one, but it's so quirky I don't use it in the field.
  21. ColonelDan pegged it. Check out this thread: Remote Froze During Frequency Scan He let the battery run down all the way on the RC and then plugged in the charger and it came back to life.
  22. Wow, that's a nice haul! That shoe buckle looks to be in great shape. Are the earrings, tie clasp, and spoon silver? Man you have some massive stamina to dig all that. I've followed your other posts and you are the Energizer Bunny of diggers! 😎
