  1. Hope y'all doing great! Guys, I'm on my way to bed and catch some sleep... So i copied the text from my original post.

Hey wassup guys!😀 Hope y'all doing great!🙏 Here it is, yesterday's result with my brand new Coiltek coil for the Minelab Equinox! (14x9) Before anything else, let me say that i could had found way more stuff (another patch at around 500m away from where I've been yesterday), but i was determined to try this coil on a area where i have searched many times before. (I have some old footage here, it's same area where i used my GPX 5000 with the 14" DD Goldstalker), and no, I'm not saying that the Equinox is better than the GPX 5000! 2 different worlds! I simply didn't walk over these with the Gpx 5000. The GPX will not produce any signal coming from mineralized pottery. ( I have to say this because my post will be shared on some other groups ) Most of these Medieval coins didn't have a solid ID, because they were either deep or amongst mineralized pottery fragments... mostly +30cm deep. Had one on edge at around 23cm if i remember correctly... The only coins that i had a solid ID were: Little silver hammered coin at +-20cm that was surrounded by few bits of iron (when it locked, i had a ID 13-14), and that little hammered coin with a short cross (while heading back home i came across a ID 4). I also took the Minelab's 15" Coil with me to compare some signals, it seemed like there was little to no difference regarding depth (to me that's a good thing) but, i noticed a much greater separation on the Coiltek 14x9! The thing is, some coins were amongst mineralized pottery fragments (produces negative signals/ID ), so the 14x9 could separate better, therefore i would get a much better response.👍 I'm guessing this coil will work excellent at the beach. This time i had to include some of the trash that i found... all those little bits that you see on the right side!😀 Excellent sensitivity!!!!!!😀👌 Another 2 things that i really need to mention... It's a heavy coil, so if you are a skinny person, well, use a bungee or a harness. I didn't need to use my bungee, but at the end of the day i was knackered!😂 Do i mind? Definitely not, as long it does the job, that's what matters. 👍 I've noticed that some people are worried about the coil ears... Well, i don't think you should worry about that... although this is a new coil for the Minelab Equinox, these coils have been around for several years on some other Minelab detectors!😉 Ctx 3030, Etrac, Safari and the list goes on... I'm very pleased with my coil!😀👌 I even bought a nice red dress for my "Coilteka"😂 a protection called Flexbump (made of PETG) that absorbs any impact against rocks at the forest and beach! EDIT I was using mainly the Field 2. 0 F3 & F2. 6 Recovery Speed. I did use a little bit the Field 1 and Beach 1, but i was having a better result using the Field 2 on that area. Thank you Trevor Coiltek and Coiltek Team for this amazing coil!👍😎 Best regards!

  2. I use mainly the wm08 module because it's way faster than the Bluetooth. I can hear the difference on polluted ancient sites. (Mineralization and iron)

Wired directly to the control box or using just the speaker is way more faster, but i don't like being Wired directly to my machine because i would have to remove the headphones every time,  i don't like using the speaker because i want to pay attention to what I'm listening, ambiance sounds like the wind can be a problem and i won't be as much focused as i am while using the headphones.

  3. Hi guys! Hope y'all doing great!

I came across this website: https://www.geosense.nl

And it got me thinking...  When i see the word Geosense, Geology is what comes to my mind! Geology involves minerals right? What if this new method has the ability to see/scan iron? And then it would disc or reproduce any characteristic sound or any type of visual information, this without necessarily having the need to use a DD coil.🤔

I mean, we are talking about Minelab... the ones who keep revolutionizing the metal detect world with their unique methods.

Another link from the same company:

    http://www.geosense.nl/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Geosense_Geological_mapping.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjwpNn-x6_uAhVbVBUIHZO8CX0QFjADegQIBxAC&usg=AOvVaw2X712XE9HJ89iuL69n398e

Geosense technology in metal detect would be like a down to earth satelite transforming earth's surface as the sky.😄

    I'm crazy I know...

    Best regards

Pictures of the box are bad on Facebook but from what I can see it says "All Gold, All Soils, All the Time" At the bottom of the box it says All Gold, Lighter weight, Easy Expert, up on the side it repeats a lot of what's on the bottom but I think it also says Built to Last, Nothing about waterproof though. I could be wrong about some of what it says, hard to read bad photo.

Below the box there's some sort of yellow sticker, and to me it looks like Joan Allen's brand! (Metal detect shop from the UK)🤔

  5. Ok, yesterday I did a fast test and came to a conclusion.

I have buried a small 19,2kt ring ( 7 ID) at around 25cm, wet. On Beach 2, Max sens, 50 tones, FE&F2 at 0, Recovery speed at 5. My Ferrous tone is set from -9 to 0.  I had no issues picking up the ring.

I switched then to Field 2 with same settings, but with standard tone break ( Ferrous tone set from -9 to 1). I had no signal from the ring and there was alot of falsing coming in 2 ID!

I guess everything was just fine and completely normal, I mean, the higher frequencies will pick up to much salt mineralization and the machine will become "blind".

He said that field 2 was perfect/stable right? Well, i guess that if he using disc from -9 to any low ID ( something between 1 and 5, the machine will be looking stable... but we all know that behind the scene, the machine is being overcharged with lots of signals under that disc.  It's like a Painkiller!😀 It won't fix any health problem, it will just mask the pain!

I think that he should record some footage so that we can understand...  i only see 2 options, User Error or Bad coil. 🤷‍♂️

Just a few words from my experience:  Even in the low mineralized sand of central Florida beaches, Field 2  cannot compete with either of the Beach modes in wet salt sand or surf.  I’ve tested the modes on my beach hunting areas just out of curiosity.  Park 1 in 4kHz on dry sand does OK but again, I’ll stay with the beach modes in damp, wet and surf.
just the view from my salty foxhole....

    That's what im getting too.👍 it's logical

He must be joking.  No way will Field mode work better than Beach mode in wet saltwater sand. Even brackish conditions will kill the performance of Field mode.

I'm sure that he is not joking, he a great guy! I only see two options: 1. There's a misunderstanding and can't explain well... mineralization and EMI are 2 different things.  2. Bad coil.

Well, it certainly hightly depends on the beach (amount of black sand, salt, trash..). Speaking for my beaches, you'd go mad in field2 even with sens down to 10

I'd not recommend to disc out everything above 16 - you will miss the big gold for sure.. I've found a 13g, 14k wedding band which rang at 22-25 ...  I'd go for maybe ~33-40, if you want to keep out big iron.

He doesn't tell if he runs field2 in multi or single frequency, nor which software version or coil he uses..

I know that... i did say: "Why? The probabilities of finding gold at low ID's is very high. I know that some gold rings can give 17 or much higher ID's...  if I get a bouncing signal mixed with Ferrous and some non ferrous (very low numbers), i dig, it could be some deep gold or a gold ring on edge..."  😀

  9. Hi everyone! Hope y'all doing great!

Has anyone tried Field 2 at the Beach (Wet)?

I know that Field 2 can run ok on Dry, but at Wet it will false alot... "Ghost" signals at 1 and 2 ID's. (I have my Ferrous from -9 to 0, something like the Vanquish 540 Jewelry Mode).

When I hit the Beach, my goal is to find gold and not coins, so i use a specific config on wet...

Beach 1 or Beach 2, i set a disc from -9 to -3, open from -2 to 16, disc again from 17 to 40, recovery speed at 7, 0 FE and F2, 2 Tones and max sens.

Why? The probabilities of finding gold at low ID's is very high. I know that some gold rings can give 17 or much higher ID's...  if I get a bouncing signal mixed with Ferrous and some non ferrous (very low numbers), i dig, it could be some deep gold or a gold ring on edge...

Well, one of my friends recently posted that long post in one of those Equinox Groups on Facebook...

To me, it doesn't make sense... How can Field 2 be more stable/perfect than Beach modes on wet!? At max sens?!  Btw, he didn't explain well at the very beginning of his post.  He has been hunting  with his Equinox 800 for 1 and half year, most of his hunts were on Land, and he has around 30 Beach hunts on his record. (The way he wrote on Facebook makes one think that he has hunted at the Beach for 1 and half year and using Beach 1 and 2).

Another thing, in the past, he has experienced alot of  EMI while holding and shaking his coil in the air, while on Beach 1 and Beach 2...  after a FP, he managed to fix that "issue", after some hunts he started to have that "issue" again, but this time no need to shake the coil, it just gets alot of EMI just from holding his coil in the air. A FP doesn't fix.

It kind of reminds me the days back when I had the White's Spectra V3i. One day while hunting with the stock coil and using Multi, I had a Overload message on my screen... after dropping the sens, the machine would work fine... but then when I switched to the lowest frequency, I had that Overload error again... the mid frequency was ok at max sens, the highest frequency was also ok at max sens. While trying the Butterfly Sef and the Detech 13 Ultimate coils I had no issues and everything was working just fine! So I guessed that my stock coil was defective...

I'm starting to think that my mate might have a similar situation! I don't know...

    Let me know your thoughts!

Oh btw, that gold ring, he found it minutes ago while using Field 2! Haha

I'm so sorry for my bad English.

    Best regards
