Found a guys $3000 custom wedding ring last week at the beach - he was in the surf with a shovel and colander digging for his ring(no detector!) that he  lost in the water the week before. I found it in about 20 minutes - reward was a hearty hand shake - so maybe i am overcharging Gerry with the  hearty handshake and should ask for a vigorous wave.

The prices being thrown around here seem a bit over the top IMO 😉. Looks like it's going to be a nice machine but maybe we should be insistent that we won't buy it for any more than $6000AUD (~$4500USD). Maybe Minelab will listen?

Might have to let some moths out of the wallet 🤣

Go to the pub and want a schooner it’s 6 bucks .  Only wanna spend 4 drink a seven ounce 😜

GPZ coils... all Minelab coils... come with skid plates. But on GPZ people were wearing them completely out before you could get a spare. In a nutshell, 100% of production goes to building units. Minelab is not in the business of selling anything but detectors, so accessory coils, and even the most basic accessories, are often in very short supply for the first year. Unless something has changed, I expect the same thing again.

Why were gpzers wearing them out quicker ?    Not made so well ? Heavier machines? Different coil material ?

I’m fine with either, as I can see people going both ways on it. The DD coil would be good in Northern Nevada salt locations, while the 17” would be good for patch hunting. My main concern is accessories, because what we get in the box may be all we can get for some time. Seems like with GPZ it was months before we could even buy a skid plate. If Minelab does not allot some extra coils so people can have all three, then I can already hear the grumping about whatever one is not in the box.

dd would be good in Rushworth Victoria Australia too .....nasty ground.....

I would say that the Facebook Arabic video was not Minelab sanctioned - looks to me like a local distributor has jumped the gun.

One of our local Minelab distributors in South Australia is closed today (Thursday) which is strange. Wonder if they are in a conference with Minelab for the GPX6000 product launch?

which distributor would that be ?

  6. Had a corin mini hip replacement done in june ,  my 4000 is unaffected by it , just for a laugh used my mates minelab pinpointer on it , it found it , went through Melbourne airport last week and didn,t get picked up ,I quizzed ol mate at the scanner and he crapped on about titanium not registering but leaving Darwin it set off the alarm and then had my  belt removed and put back through detector , more alarms then taken aside and hand detected and gunpowder residue checked .maybe better security because of the airforce base in town  ??
