  1. Yes the Torus has proved themselves, original set I`ve had on the 6K are into their 3rd or is that 4th season??? They are popular here in OZ, Sales to detector user would show that. Perhaps as they have proved themselves Avantree should leave the original Torus as is.... have a go at making a more rugged Torus but just in case that`s not the go, leave the original Torus as is ,,, If it aint broke don`t fix it
  2. That`s more compact, the sort of size we need, Avantree`s timing is spot on I can see a lot of E1500s fitted with it. What changed you over to using a Torus, your first posts on it weren`t positive?
  3. Ah firstly Gerry you are no Lone Ranger, why talk about an E1500 or get one? simply coz we can, the real question should be why not talk......... but it`s way too late to ask that question, DP members have a 5 in 100 or better representation already of E1500 owners (if the rumored 100 number`s for real) and a lot on DPs posting about it, you`ll do your thing and try to have one in their hot hands before the years out and that`s no question tis a certainty. You`ll also shake you head when you`ve one in your hot hands and wonder why do such innovations not come from other than a past/present Minelab source? Tis a brilliant detector that wont beat your 6K or Z in most situations, about equal to the Axiom and has an edge on the SDC? But licks em all in ergonomics/weight/price and usability..... heh but that`s my early judgement.😉
  4. Reverted to using electrical insulation tape to hold coil cables, after trying clips, velcro etc. velcro picks up all the FNQ spear grass and other grass seeds and you end up with a 'nest' on shaft especially at the low tie just above the coil. Battery for the E1500 I initially used a small old 2000mah lithium torch that has a USB A power outlet, ordered and received a Companion 16000mah Power bank as per PhaseTech E1500 review thread. Its a beauty, has a wireless phone charger on one side that had no trouble punching through the thick protection case on my phone, other side has a 1.5W solar charger.
  5. As your near harshest critic, top vid I watched it to the end which is unusual for me, a few of us organized that wind from over the ditch here, you should have not told us the E1500 was coming today👺. Tis an impressive detector in all-round usability, stability, sensitivity etc. I know I shake my head and wonder why it took a new Manufacturer to listen to what our Moderator tried to tell the other established manufacturers over and over for years. I`m excited with this Algoforces first, what is next? although I suspect they`ll be head down and a... up keeping up with demand.
  6. Crikey PI coils have been selling at discounted prices since The Chip, suddenly they are being auctioned off to the highest bidders, aftermarket coil manufacturers will be banking on Algoforces success whilst ML will be spitting those chips🤪 Have fun Phrunt tis a joy to swing.
  7. Your not wrong I`ve had an early morn Expresso hit now and admit I was definitely a wee mischievous early on, Reg`ll kill me.....😉
  8. Off Topic alright, you guys must have terrible ground because my original 'defective' 6K eats the SDC and everything else with ease on my ground for scraps, but not the Z for Lunkers..... or Regers if that`s ok with you Reg. Put the axe down Lunk/Reg I`m just being a wee mischievous on this lovely downunder morn. Back to the E1500, as Nenad has illustrated, Ned Kelly has posted and I concur the E1500 is not a 6K killer but it may compete with your SDCs on your ground, definitely will in ease of use, there is only one way to find out but as Steve has posted they maybe a way off before they go 'upover'.
  9. Early days but the E1500 is in my competition as the Axiom is, but I`m a virgin eluvial patch hunter and the smallest of flakes/species nearly always lead to more, what an old codger can swing with good concentration for the hours required to find that first flake is my main consideration, thus criteria changes not only from person to person expectations but by their age as well as their field/ground. The Z is easier to swing than its predecessors, the 6K than the Axiom, along come the E1500, well it is like swinging an Equinox but is a Pi. Some of those virgin patches have been found in close where ones been over many times previously but with detectors that weren`t capable of getting those first flakes. The 6K found one such extensive close in patch in its early days as before it the Z and so back did most the others. True some will be upset with their purchase and dismiss it eg. as the Axiom has been dismissed, that has been so since year one. Ahhh different expectations/perspectives😉
  10. That has been said about the Axiom and generally is correct, for me (other than price) the E1500 is like the Axiom, full settings control plus the big draw card the E1500 takes the biggest range of available coils and uses USB power banks to power. Now Xcoil, NF, Coiltek etc will further the increase gains we know aftermarket coils can give in stability, depth, sensitivity and useability. Nothing I`ve seen about the E1500 with home tests leads me to believe otherwise so far. Dont get me wrong the 6Ks presently the go on field results for this old codger. I am no ML knocker, they have made my life.
  11. Why not while the iron is hot? here it is transferred across to the E1500. Trust this illustrates how easy it is with stick on velcro, of course this has not had a seasons CP, will if the E1500 has the go as I suspect.
  12. To give Avantree a wee bit of photo insight, Axiom mount is easy as bit of velcro stick on, I just followed Lunks initial post but with the Avantree 417, has done a full FNQ season (rough as) no trouble and zero drop outs. That couple (Torus & 417) will move over to the E1500 easy as or most detectors that haven`t an inbuilt aptXLL tranny.
  13. I am currently using the Avantree TC417 as a transmitter on one of my detectors paired with the Torus Neckband works AOK no trouble, I am happy with it thus unless I have troubles I see no need to change. However others may have a need, I thank you for making this option to us.
  14. Yes powerful options to explore, much like the Axiom, or most Pis, Z or todays top line VLFs, lots to 'soak in' before one can master, or easy as and leave as is. If that entry price doesn`t rise and it allows for R&D it will be the ML competition we have sought and we`ll see more. Impressive potential so much in so little a parcel, electronic miniaturization is amazing when I look back at the clunky anvils we swung in the past. Chaffing at the bit but our big FNQ wet is not over yet. The E1500 may stoke that fire you speak of Steve, less than 1oz of that heavy stuff which is roughly par to what we paid for the early VLF gold detectors (in gold).
  15. Victoria has spoilt you big time Reg, dust below 1 gram has been/is FNQ bread and butter, no way a pan can compete with detectors here.
  16. You are not wrong about weight, air tested only, stable with Sadie coil no trouble picking up the smallest micro gram scrap found with 6K recently, good clear signal on speaker. I am initially impressed, now to field test.
  17. Aye it is a top feature, the Axiom is another PI that has this very handy feature, the changing ground reading can be a top 'nugget' visual indicator along with the change in ground noise reading once you`ve familiarized yourself with these readings in the ground you prospect. In particular I`m keen as to see how the 'vibrations' pan out, maybe 'feel' sense can be proven to be as effective as hearing, especially for us deaf oldies.
  18. Lets take bets on what the hell a Dalas is, you upover guys should be able to read what Docs up to by now. Hmmmm I`ve little idea maybe a fancy finds pouch?
  19. Wow sounds good, this may put the cat amongst the pigeons. Reminds me of the Dtex/Dtek Search King & Gold King split from Garrett back in the 80s.
  20. Fossilized Kl..... the Pubic Serpents will build a monument. Lets av a beer with KL before they get him, he did say he`s shouting didn`t he....
  21. Metal detectorist facing $115,000 fine, jail time over little-known rule (msn.com)
  22. Hi MN, how many hours do you reckon went into finding that 'loot'? I only do a little casual park coin detecting and never swung a coil on a beach, I have no idea but am curious although I suspect it gets you in as gold does.
  23. Got to agree the Axiom needs BT aptx not its proprietary system, other than that and the 6K belting it up, it is right up there.
