  1. Good luck on the trip and let our friends know that we enjoy their input on this forum for us. I just want to know just how big are those water wings are that attaches to your camper van and how long is it going to take to drive there. Hope you don't sink if a shark bites one of the floats on the van. Good luck and safe journey.
  2. I think grandfather played that song a few times, and I agree with it. Kill them all at first sight. I have been bitten by brown recluse, and black widow's, so I don't like them. I was down over 500 feet deep in my sub when the black widow got me and I assure you it will never happen again. As for the snakes I will chop them into little pieces very quickly every time.
  3. Nice hunt with some good finds for sure. Good luck on your next outing, and stay safe out there.
  4. After that find you should have bought a lottery ticket, because you had a better chance to win than to find something like that. The odds of 2 bullets hitting each other during a battle far out numbers any chance to win the lottery. Great find and good luck on your next outing.
  5. Fantastic find with a lot of history behind it, would be nice to find the family it belonged to. Good luck.
  6. Thanks for reminding me that my moonshine should be cold enough as it has been in the deep freeze for a few hours. I'm not joking about this and should really stop typing now to go and get it.
  7. My grandfather had a collection of those rings, and he told me that they were found in boxes of cereal. Cool looking ring for how old it is. Wish you more luck on your next hunt, and get some real gold.
  8. That is some impressive looking gold, except for the last picture. I would have lost that nugget the instant I saw the snake. I hate snakes and will kill them all if they are near me.
  9. I know that grandfather had never put his 800 in the water over the handle to protect the screen. He said that he read to many stories on here about them leaking. I also have taken his advice on this subject and have never submerged the whole unit. Good luck on finding luck on finding out your answer.
  10. Actually it means Girl Friend and you just know how women can be. One minute they are worth their weight in gold, and the next minute you wouldn't give a plug nickel for them. Hope this sets you straight.
  11. Great timing on the hunt and some really nice finds. I hope they will clean up some for you so you can show them off. Good luck on your next outing.
  12. Great work and nice looking gold for your troubles. Hope that the ice leaves your area soon and you start to get some good weather to sluice in. Never take chances with a river as they are to UN-predictable and can get you hurt and we all don't want that. Good luck on your next outing and stay safe out there.
  13. Nice hunt and don't forget to go down both sides of the track where the people stood. There is always good items left there. Good luck on your next outing.
  14. Yes it does, and you really have to listen to the different tones to the best of your ability to hear the tones of gold. With my 800 I only set the sense just around 3/4 of the way up for best results. Others out there who use the 900 can help you a little bit more than I can and I am sure they will chime in shortly.
  15. I also believe that we are not alone in this mass universe, but have not yet seen a UFO. However there has been a few times that while sluicing or panning in a certain area I knew that I was not alone. We have heard things and seen things that could not be explained while in the creeks. We were not drinking at the time, but we believe that there were people panning the same creek from days long past. Could they have been ghost's, I think it may have been possible but has not been proven as of yet. When you are out there seemingly alone I believe that there is someone who was there before who is no longer with us. Just my opinion and beliefs on this, and hope one day maybe I will get to see a UFO.
  16. Beautiful finds and I hope he enjoys them to remember you by. My grandfather has left me many things to remember him by and I could never get rid of them for anything. Love history and the memories of my grandparents.
  17. Looks like all that hard work is paying off for you, I never thought of finding platinum i a pan like that, but never really knew what it would look like in the pan or sluice. Nice looking gold for the day and I wish you better luck on your next outing. Stay safe and don't over do yourself.
  18. Nice hunting again 350, and what a set of finds. How large is the item with the hole and shaft , it looks almost like some old tie-down that I have seen some where. Should they have a large size hole it could have been used for chain, small hole would be used for rope. Good luck on finding out what it is for sure.
  19. Very nice recovery and great to see it happen for you. To me it looks like only one real diamond, but what can you really tell from a picture. Good luck on your next outing.
  20. The oldest coin I found was a 1799 one farthing , and the other oldest thing I found was George Kinsey age unknown, but they suspect early prehistoric period.
  21. Very good hunt with some beautiful saves. Good luck on your next hunt.
  22. Looks like an old Whites that has been brutally modified. Just a guess.
  23. The creeks around me has a lot of silver in them in larger size nuggets. I have to be careful when sluicing for the gold. When I notice the silver in my pan I stop and try to get all the silver I can. We have recovered almost 4 ounces of it so far this year, compared to a quarter of an ounce of flour gold. That's 4 hunts so far this year in the creeks for about 3 hours each time.
  24. Enjoyed the read and pictures and that is the way to put together a hunt. Good luck on your next outing!
  25. Very nice, it is making my flour gold worth something again.
