1 Out Of 100 Acres, Lots Of Buttons
Valens Legacy replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
As many people has said so many times on here " It doesn't hurt to ask unless they have a shotgun pointed at you". So the more you ask permission and interact with them the better your chances to get their permission.- 11 replies

Gold Detecting, Mushroom And Berry Picking
Valens Legacy replied to Sourdough Scott's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Almost every time I get a chance to get out there, I have to get some berries, but mainly get some chicken of the woods mushrooms. They grow year round and if you know how to gather them up you won't hurt them and they will continue to grow. -
Sierra Snows
Valens Legacy replied to HardPack's topic in Gold Panning, Sluicing, Dredging, Drywashing, Etc
Beautiful looking country and if they would have known that it was full of gold they would have built a cabin and stuck it out until they had good weather. -
Nice looking rings and glad that you were able to save them. Good luck on your next hunt and stay safe out there.

Converting Deus 2 Headphones To Suit Equinox Plug?
Valens Legacy replied to TTT2866's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
You should have 3 wires on the jack, and 1 of them is the common while the other 2 are left and right speaker. You can use a standard multi-meter to find the common wire. Good luck and I am sure that Phrunt would have the wiring diagram for you. -
My Research Is Starting To Pay Off
Valens Legacy replied to Lead Detector's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Congrats on the permission and I hope it pays off for you. Good hunting and stay safe out there as the snakes are going to be mean this time of the year. -
I have to say it is a new model swing arm that either has a coil scuff plate and a stand that holds the detector up by a couple of paddles so that you can dig up the gold without dropping the detector. It could also be some new way to go crazy just guessing what it is. What ever it is I'm sure that someone out there will be needing it to keep the load off their heart. Good luck on what ever it is and I hope that you sell a lot of them.

Do You Dig Signals With No ID And No 2d Trace?
Valens Legacy replied to Dug D's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
When I am in the creeks near me I get that a lot, it could be a very small piece of iron, or even a very small piece of gold. There is also bits of silver in these creeks also and they can do the same. Good luck and look very close when they are out of the ground and you not get a signal as they can also be a high iron clay that you are hearing. -

Am I Overthinking This?
Valens Legacy replied to SwiftSword's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Should I see a staged video find on detecting what I would do is just pass on all others from that person. Integrity is the most important thing a person has in life. If you have already put that out there please go back and let the people know that you staged it to show what a detector can do, and promise that it will never happen again. Some times finding only junk is better than finding something good if you wish to share the videos. -
Don't forget that N.Y. has a law for complaining about the weather and blaming it on something other than Mother Nature. Glad you got it instead of me.

Let's Talk Small Bits!
Valens Legacy replied to midalake's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Yes I am. I have found that when I do get a chance to detect that it is only a very short amount of time due to work. I only go maybe 15 miles from home and look in creeks on or near farm land with permission of course. I do have a nice size creek that I go to on a regular basis, because there is plenty of flour gold in them. I will start detecting the sides of the creeks and get a few tones, then I get a few pans full of pay dirt and check it out.. What I like the best near me is a creek that shows some quartz and black sand on the walls and that is the first place I look. Don't get me wrong about how much you will find in those places, but I have found a few ounces over a year of work. Should the work don't get you the bugs just might. You will be using a pan, a sluice and almost anything you can to get as much as you can. I have even gone to the Salvation Army stores and found some 5 gallon strainers in the cooking area and used those to classify some of the soil so I could run the rest through my sluice. Those do pay for themselves in the long run. I take it that you are in central to southern IN. which is a nice area to be in for gold. I have been to the southern end next to Kentucky and found some nice gold on a few farms down there. I am located almost 50 miles south of Springfield, IL. I hope this helps, Caleb -

My 800 with the 10x5 on it has found me good solid gold in a few creek beds that I have been sluicing in. Most of our gold is flour gold but once in a while you get a nugget about the size of bird shot. I have used it a lot to find gold bearing ground around here and it has always put us on it to sluice. Very fine detector with the right coils on it and easy to use. -
Very nice job on the finds! Good luck on your next outing.

Found no problems with the update and it seems to work better than before. Good luck.
