That is great on the finds once again and glad to see you save some more history.
Good luck on your next outing and as always stay safe out there.

Would an obviously staged find in this context immediately put you off, or would you see it as part of the joke?
Should I see a staged video find on detecting what I would do is just pass on all others from that person. Integrity is the most important thing a person has in life.
If you have already put that out there please go back and let the people know that you staged it to show what a detector can do, and promise that it will never happen again. Some times finding only junk is better than finding something good if you wish to share the videos.

Don't forget that N.Y. has a law for complaining about the weather and blaming it on something other than Mother Nature.
Glad you got it instead of me.

Thanks for the nice video Steve.

are you using the 800 for prospecting in the location you have posted to your profile?
Yes I am.
I have found that when I do get a chance to detect that it is only a very short amount of time due to work.
I only go maybe 15 miles from home and look in creeks on or near farm land with permission of course. I do have a nice size creek that I go to on a regular basis, because there is plenty of flour gold in them. I will start detecting the sides of the creeks and get a few tones, then I get a few pans full of pay dirt and check it out.. What I like the best near me is a creek that shows some quartz and black sand on the walls and that is the first place I look.
Don't get me wrong about how much you will find in those places, but I have found a few ounces over a year of work. Should the work don't get you the bugs just might. You will be using a pan, a sluice and almost anything you can to get as much as you can. I have even gone to the Salvation Army stores and found some 5 gallon strainers in the cooking area and used those to classify some of the soil so I could run the rest through my sluice. Those do pay for themselves in the long run. I take it that you are in central to southern IN. which is a nice area to be in for gold. I have been to the southern end next to Kentucky and found some nice gold on a few farms down there.
I am located almost 50 miles south of Springfield, IL.
I hope this helps,
Caleb

My 800 with the 10x5 on it has found me good solid gold in a few creek beds that I have been sluicing in. Most of our gold is flour gold but once in a while you get a nugget about the size of bird shot. I have used it a lot to find gold bearing ground around here and it has always put us on it to sluice.
Very fine detector with the right coils on it and easy to use.

Doc put these fellas minds to rest quickly or we are all gonna end up sharing a padded cell🤪
I have my walls in a nice leather and silk, that way when my girlfriend comes to visit there's no markings on the walls.
I do try to stay neat and orderly.
Where's my darn meds at.

here are lots of bilge pumps for sale at Amazon and Ebay. A lot of prospecting places sell them too, as do marinas if you happen to live near water.
What size pump do you recommend to run on the sluice?

Lithium ion battery
Yes it was a lithium ion battery, I was a little surprised that it was not as high as I thought it would be.

I picked up a 90 Ah Bosch battery for $116.00 at a NAPA Auto store near me just 2 weeks ago. Could of had a 120 Ah for just 12 dollars more.
Now to find a bilge pump at the right price.

Wild guess on the double ring thing, may be part of a horse bit, or an alligator teething ring
Sorry that you miss-identified such a common item from Ohio. That is a hotdog holder and sucker holder for ugly babies that scare the dogs. The hotdog temps the dogs to pay attention the the kids, while the sucker is in the babies mouth.
Please remember the area that has strange items that were used in days past.

I have been using my 800 with the 10x5 coil in our creek beds and side walls with some good results on my 800.
So I would say that you have everything covered with that and with Ron's advice.
Good luck and good hunting.

Sounds like a new style of coil holder instead using of a shaft, and connecting it directly to the unit. Then have a new style shaft to move the coil side to side like a new hip stick.
But then again I have been drinking to much shine.

Very nice hunt GB and glad to see you out there again. I enjoy reading about your hunts as I know that you have hit the same sites many times.
Good luck on your next outing and stay safe out there.

i would need some time to get use to the different shape of coil
Not really as when I took mine out for the first time it felt natural and was hitting everything it went over. The only thing I had to watch was the ID numbers were a bit lower than normal.

Too much of that stuff and you will go color blind.👀
Before I ever had a beer my grandfather got me hooked on moonshine, and that is my drink of choice. I am having some right now as a matter of fact in a normal size coffee cup. I won't drink in excess because will not get drunk and get a DUI. Most of my drinking is at home with my girlfriend, and yes my grandfather taught me that is the best place to do it. He was right and I have never got into trouble with the law over it, only a couple of girls have caused a few problems while I had been drinking because they couldn't handle it.

The 10x5 works great on my 800 and gives me plenty of depth for the hard to find items. Works great on the sides of a creek, under metal fences at ball fields, and gets the job done.

Those are amazing finds and also hard to find at that.
Great hunt and you really showed your skills with your detector on those finds.
Someday I hope to be as good as some of the people on here.
Good luck on your next hunt and stay safe out there.
