Tales From The Wanna Be Relic Hunter
Valens Legacy replied to CPT_GhostLight's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Nice hunt with a lot of interesting items. Did you find those railroad spikes at the tracks or the old building, I'm just asking so I won't be surprised when the next train derails out there. Just kidding and good luck on your next outing. -

Nice ring at a great price! I am still trying to wrap my mind around having to pay to go to the beach. Was it a private or public beach. I have never heard of having to pay for them, but I guess it is a California thing.

Was that the bench or the coin? Great hunt, good luck on your next outing.

I believe that there were a few articles on the 440 a year or so ago that would be a good read for you. I can't remember if it was under the minelab section or not.

Nice hunt and some good saves. Good luck on your next outing and I will also send some of my weather to you for good luck. It is only in the low 30's so it should send a few chills up and down your back every time you get a good target.

Great job hunting all those finds, and glad that you were able to save the nice stuff. Good luck on your next outings as we enjoy seeing what you come up with next. Stay safe out there.

Personal Best Start To A New Year
Valens Legacy replied to Compass's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
One of these times your going to have to show me how it's done like that. Great hunting and I know that was a lot of hard work. Good luck and stay safe out there. -
Now that is nice, the 11 year old shows as much talent than you because she's sneaky.

Buckles And Bullets

Another nice hunt and would bet that there are more coins yet to be found there. I think that we will be hearing back in the future that you have found either more silver or very old coins. Good luck and good hunting. -
Now that's a nugget, good going on the find. Good luck on your next outing and stay safe from the snakes.

You Ever Do This?
Valens Legacy replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
There are some exceptions, and the smell is still in one part of the back yard. Just can't get rid of it no matter what we put on it. -
Sorry to see the ears break off and am really glad that you were able to stay on the hunt with the bungee cord. Nice looking hunt to say the least with some great saves. Good luck on your next hunt. A friend broke some ears off his detectors coil and his friend who owns a auto body shop put them back on for him. They used some kind of epoxy that has never broken yet and that was 3 years ago. Just a thought.

So what was in the hole?

You Ever Do This?
Valens Legacy replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
I have always left the trash in a bag and left it in one of the trash cans at the park, or if I am in the creeks take the trash to the next gas station and leave it there. Then I take the good stuff home with me and put it in a can or a jar until it adds up to a good amount to spend. -
I believe that my biggest complaint it the fact that I don't have one. Sooner or later I might buy one.

In The News - Netherlands
Valens Legacy replied to mcjtom's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
I read about that a few days ago, and after I retire I might go to give my hand a try to find it. I really think it has already been found and spent by someone, but you never know. -

What Great Finds?!
Valens Legacy replied to CPT_GhostLight's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Now that's just crazy, I know that I have not been able to get out there in quite some time, but I have not gone that bonkers yet. Enjoyed the read and that is some good finds for this time of the year. I think you should go to the beach next because you never know who might of lost something while ice fishing. Good luck and stay safe from one crazy guy to another. -
When I first used my grandfathers sand scoop it needed a handle, so I looked around the shop and found a stainless steel thin wall pipe. I cut it to a length that was comfortable for me and it has been very good for me. I use mine for checking our the creeks in my neck of the woods when looking for gold. I can dig a few scoops for the pan and check it out faster than using a shovel. I know it is a little heavier than most materials out there but it works very well and I have not bent it once.
