Grandfather and I would take Keystone canned meats of various types with us along with some BBQ sauce and other items. Each can would be 2 meals for a single person with some left over. We would make a beef stew that would be some of the best you would ever eat, and then take the rest of the can and make BBQ beef sandwiches for lunch. They have beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and they all are high quality and taste good with a little seasoning. I will say the beef sorta smalls funny, but the taste is really good. The way they are canned they last about 5 years so if you forget about them you don't have to worry as they are still good. I am not going to give any recipes as I am not that great of a cook yet and don't want to make anyone sick. We would also have plenty to drink of various types to go with what ever we were eating. Remember that you will burn through the calories while detecting so eat well and drink plenty.

Has Anyone Tried To Buy Any Silver Lately?
Valens Legacy replied to Redneck's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
With the new policies in politics I believe everything is going to go up and out of sight. I know in the Ozarks you can find silver in some of the creeks as well as gold. -
Welcome to the forum Stretchy, The 800 is a solid unit and is worth the money for it's all around use. I like the fact that it is waterproof (most of the time) and you can get different coils for it. I have been using mine in factory settings and have found some very nice items, and I can't wait to get to go hunting gold with it. Good luck and happy hunting.

Identification Help Please!
Valens Legacy replied to SlowFrog's topic in Rocks, Minerals, Gems & Geology
It reminds me of some aluminum foil that someone had thrown onto a fire to burn. Other than that I have no idea, sorry. Good luck on finding out what it is. -
Don't forget a snake bite kit, I have always used one in my first aid kit after my grandfather told me about them. Here is a link to what they look like. https://www.amazon.com/Emergency-Supplies-Extractor-Backpacking-Camping/dp/B074CN58RV/ref=sr_1_4?crid=LFC8RAL8RKMC&dchild=1&keywords=the+extractor+snake+bite+kit&qid=1612583895&sprefix=the+extractor%2Caps%2C209&sr=8-4 Good luck and happy hunting.

Glad to have you here CalReg and please post some of your finds and stories about them. I too love the beaches when they are crowded with all those bikini girls, I am in my 20's, so I guess we have something in common there. The best wine is only a few hours old and is called moonshine. That's what I like just like my grandfather who first gave it to me. Good luck and happy hunting.

Nice outfit that will work for many things, just as soon as your mechanic puts the steering wheel back where it belongs. Good luck and have fun.

First thing I want to say is what great finds you are making this year. Second thing I want to say is Show Off, you keep killing us with the finds. Just kidding. Good luck on your next hunt.

I have seen some very nice remodels of a bus like that before, and don't get rid of all the seats. You can save a couple of them to take with you in the storage area under the bus. Just add a few things, some curtains, and a fridge and all is good. There should be enough room under the bus for most of your cargo and a couple of people to boot.

Equinox Wireless Technology Poll
Valens Legacy replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Thank you for the input and I will take the headphones out and charge them up and use them a couple of times. I have never taken them out of the box and I don't think that grandfather ever used them. You are right about using them to keep the batteries in shape, so I will start using them so the batteries don't go bad. -
Equinox Wireless Technology Poll
Valens Legacy replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
I have yet to try the headphones with the 800, and to conserve battery power have turned off wifi and blue tooth. I think I have them off, but will double check them again next time I turn it on. -
Since I am still a newbie with detectors I decided to use only the factory settings so that I can learn the tones better. Once I master that step I may try to learn the other settings and create my own program for the 800 settings that I wish to use.

I came to this forum shortly after my grandfather had passed away with zero knowledge of how to even turn on his Equinox 800. Once I became involved in the forum I took the time to read everything that I could about the 800 and listened to members on this forum on how to use it. I still know almost nothing of it's full capabilities in actual use, but since going out with the detector I have been able to make a few finds. I am still learning from the good people on this forum in what they write, and have taken many notes to fall back on. I only pray that someday that I can be as good as some of the people here with the 800. I wish to thank Steve for his site being available to so many and wish him many more years with the best website on the internet. Thank you all for your support in this hobby for the knowledge that you give so freely to so many like me.

Sorry Steve I must have missed it, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. There are so many opinions about dowsing that I have come to this conclusion. Dowsing may work for some people because of how they wish to believe in it. There has never been any scientific proof that God does not exist, so I want to believe that he does.
