Eye Candy For The Cold Weather
Valens Legacy replied to mineit's topic in Gold Panning, Sluicing, Dredging, Drywashing, Etc
Beautiful gold and a lot of hard work on the sluice to find it. Was it dug by hand and ran through a sluice, or was it done from a larger scale with heavy equipment. Good luck on your next hunt. -
Great job on the nugget, congrats. Good luck on your next hunt.

Solar Charger For GPX 5000.. Will It Work?
Valens Legacy replied to Erik Oostra's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
I have been using a system for about a year now and it has given me just what I need. Here is a link to the company page and everything is there for what you might need. Their unit also comes with a small battery. https://www.eco-worthy.com/collections/off-grid-solar-kit/products/100w-200w-300w-400w-500w-600w-12v-off-grid-solar-kits-with-100w-mono-panel-for-cabin-home-rv?variant=37410330181820 I have the 200watt unit that never has let me run out of power. The price they show first is for the 100watt system. -
Forum Member Question To Me - Video Included
Valens Legacy replied to Rob Allison's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
There are several places in Missouri that people had done the same thing when mining Silver. Nice video and I will have to bookmark it for reference. -
They sure do look the same as I thought the same thing when I looked at the pictures. Great save on your hunt.

Great finds for sure and wish you the best of luck on your next hunt. Old parks and churches are the best. -
Glad to see you found a date for it, I didn't think it looked that old.

Now you know why he invented those bifocal glasses. -
18K gold is considered to be the jack of all trades when it comes to jewellery. It is pure enough (75% purity) to not change any colour or oxidise over time while maintaining reasonable rigidity under mechanical stress. Next is Carat, while it is pronounced the same as Karat, the letter ‘C’ makes all the difference. It is a totally different story, Carat is a weight unit, just like kilogram, pound, stone etc. 1 Carat or 1ct is equal to 0.2gr . So you should have 3.6 grams of gold and the rest is diamonds. The ring is a custom made item from the EU from what I can find out.

I was having problems with EMI at times and found that if I turn off the bluetooth and wireless items it calms down a lot. I live in a rural area where the power companies use WiFi over their power lines, and that was why I thought about the WiFi on the unit. Grandfather had mentioned it last year when he was having problems and told me how to get around it as much as possible by taking those steps. I never use headphones so I don't use those settings. You can always look for the power company's antenna's by looking for a square box with an antenna straight down. They can pick up your power meter up to a mile from them, so it has to have some power coming off them to interfere with a detector. Hope this helps someone.

Great finds, the tire gauge is from around the 1950's. Good catch and good hunting. Good luck on your next hunt.

Sounds great I need 6 of them for my arrows, the check is in the mail. Fantastic items for sure and great hunting and workmanship skills. Good luck on your next hunt. PS, when can I expect the arrow heads?

Lady In The Golden Robe... Needs Your Help

Using silk string to suspend it over a guitar pickup about 3/8 inch and tap it with a xylophone padded stick. The silk string will allow a more perfect tone without to much damping effect. Another way is to use a very small electric charge from both ends from a signal generator, and then see which signal is the most clear through a speaker. I am not to good at describing exactly how to do it, and I hope you can understand my thinking. Good luck on making it sing. -
Welcome to the forum Chris, from your name it sounds like you were in the Navy. Please share some of your finds and experience if you can as we all would like to see and hear about the finds. Good luck and happy hunting.

Thought For New Finds Contest Forum
Valens Legacy replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Steve I like the idea that you have come up with, but I ran out of likes. Hope to win a spot some time and I would ask for a cancer donation for my grandfather. There are so many worthwhile charities out there and I hope that the winner would be able to have a say where it goes. -
Sorry I ran out of likes, I think Steve is hoarding them, and wanted to tell you congrats on the nugget. Good luck on your next outing.

That is a good start for this year, and I am sure that you will be adding to it before long. Congrats and good luck on your next outing.
