  1. I agree I my opinion that what hurts Minelab one and done one the updates. Look how many they did for dues, also there warranty
  2. Are they coming out with a new machine. Or are they not selling.
  3. I called fisher to see if this was legit. The woman couldn’t answer my question and told me someone would get back to me. That was two days ago never herd anything and my eBay offer expired
  4. Been taking my machine in the saltwater. Afterwards some time later the handle would still be wet. so I took off my he handle and had water inside. My concern is that its saltwater. I am wondering if anyone has a way of keeping the water out or do they just loosen the handle screws
  5. Been taking my machine in the saltwater lately. For last couple of days I noticed it been slightly wet by the handle. so when I took off the handle water was trapped inside. Was wondering if anyone blocked that spot with something or do they loosen the handle after every hunt. I don’t feel comfortable leaving saltwater in there close to where the battery is located
  6. I am trying to hunt for those deep targets in the prospecting in audio themes. But I am hunting in the water. Not having much luck. For me it harder then hunting with the excal in a/m. So those deep targets that said your getting is the same for me. It’s iron. I wish I could help more but I don’t know enough about the machine
  7. So guys what I am trying to say is I am hunting in shallow salt water with Tom’s settings. I feel it’s like using the excal in all metal. At least that what I am telling myself. and I think it can have some real potential. I really like the 8 in coil especially in the water. Was wondering if anyone else is doing this and is there any tips or detecting modes there using. I am having a hard time understanding the target sounds. Trying go just use sounds not numbers. the beginning and end when sweeping over the target. I must be gettalot of small metal coming in 7-10 range and it’s junk. Think it’s small lead shot or split shot. Would like to have the gold sound better or sound different is there anything I can try adjusting or programming. appreciate any advice you give

  9. I have one sitting in the garage myself. Even though I still use my Excalibur a lot in the water and has the same technology. I don’t use the sovereign. I would still not hesitate to use one especially if you chest mount it. So it’s that much lighter and easier to swing. I think it would have a hard time picking up chains compared to the newer machines.
  10. Randy was kind enough to keep me informed of which dealers had a Minelab product that I was looking for Gerry Metal Detectors was a smooth transaction and shipped fast. Would not hesitate to buy something else if I need it
  11. Can you tell us how much the rods are or your web site
  12. Minelab doesn’t do a lot of updates. I bet you won’t see another one. They don’t want to keep making the machine better. I am sure there already working on a new detector. tThis is where I deus company credit. They are trying to help a detectorist with better functions.
  13. I have it on 4. That what recommendation for Tom Danowski settings I believe
  14. So I was beach hunting with a friend the other day on the beach. He was using the Minelab EQUINOX 900. I was using MANTICORE. He asked me if I could here this target he was hearing and what I thought it was. I swung over the target it was a short and fast response coming up in the RED id numbers 24 and I told him it was junk (iron). On his machine he said it was a 24 in a factory beach setting ( don’t know what they were) and Disc mode. What it was a nickel possibly next to iron. I say that because when he put his in all metal he got iron tone. So my settings I am using is Tom Danowski settings so you have some idea. So how do you know if a good target is next to iron with the MANITCORE without seeing where the dot falls on. I am was relying on the red numbers. I am not good with the sounds of targets especially in this mode I am in. I really just look at numbers first
  15. Does anyone know if the a larger capacity battery you can get for the manticore. Or the battery part number for the one that in there
  16. I hope there more discussion on this. is there any u tube videos about these settings( I am not seeing any ). I am trying to learn this. I can’t tell a very faint targets if it’s ferrous or non ferrous. Can’t tell the shape of the target by the tone like some of you said you can do
  17. can someone tell me what iron volume is. on Tom Danowski forum( can’t register for what ever reason). on one of his programs he said iron volume 25. Is that the ferrous volume he talking about
  18. What does everyone use there ferrous volume and pitch at. what are you trying too accomplish with that setting. I am trying to distinguish bottle caps better. if you have another option how too tell them from another option
  19. I found one of those exact Cartier ring. Did your have a serial number in it. mine didn’t others that have found fake ones did have a number. with the namer Cartier I would think there would be serial number. My gold tester doesn’t work properly so I am unsure if it’s real weighed about 5 penny weight. Not sure what that is in grams
  20. I definitely need more time with the machine. i more or less can tell by looking at the screen but the initial sound that I hear makes me sound. Some sound good in both directions ( left too right). espically if there on the deep side they sound good in both directions. once again I don’t have a ton of time with the machine. Time will help but was looking for ways to tell that it a cap
