  1. The Vista X is a fun to run machine. Very capable.
  2. I will dig a Graphite stick out of an old battery now & then on relic sites.
  3. Welcome from East Texas.
  4. Just curious, was that the Concentric or DD 5 inch coil you were using?
  5. What a great opportunity. That’s some great “old” you are finding. Keep posting your results for us.
  6. Now that’s enthusiastic detecting. I have hunted a few drained lakes & know how tiresome & messy it is. Your soreness brings back memories of the first few duck hunts in the marsh each season. A mile or so of slogging around in chest waders uses a whole different set of muscles.
  7. Very nice hunt. I like your “link” item, looks like a rocker arm of some sort.
  8. Your experience just goes to show that site conditions determine performance, not current opinion of what is the latest & greatest. Your hard earned knowledge found those targets. The 5 inch coil on the F75 did it’s part as expected. I really appreciate that a site will still hold some keepers if you continue to try and hunt smart. Otherwise, things would get boring pretty quick.
  9. Plenty on both accounts. Inflation and fiat money were basically unknown.
  10. That one looks like you found it at the Mint.

    Hello

    Welcome from East Texas.
  12. There is some nice old mixed in there. Which detector were you using?
  13. F5 is the only Fisher I have ever used but I have read extensively about the F75 & T2. It may be that AM Boost was on the F75 only. If nobody with actual experience chimes in I would call First Texas and ask a tech.
  14. Glad you were able to get out & have a good day. It’s nice when everything comes together.
  15. Welcome from East Texas.
  16. @RickUK From my understanding you are correct on getting AM into Boost mode.
  17. I suppose that is why it’s called hunting not collecting.
  18. 13" is the biggest coil I regularly use on any of my detectors & I use them often. Not only for the added depth(which they can give)but also because they will hit coins on edge & some masked targets smaller coils miss. I suppose it has something to do with the angles of the Tx/Rx field lines.

    Hi From Australia

    Welcome from East Texas.
  20. Welcome back to the hobby. For your intended areas I would highly recommend a Simultaneous Multifrequency detector, even if you have to wait a bit and save up some more money. Also a good Pin Pointer. They are invaluable time & aggravation savers.
