The Stability adjustment in Beach mode is to address Salt/Conductivity falsing. It would have to be very small Gold to be effected. The User Manual mentions around TID 11 if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the story. That dirt doesn't look too bad. What firmware version is your Legend running? I assume you have just the stock LG28 11" round coil.

Good on you and the Tejon.

JCR replied to MFF18B's topic in Nokta / Makro Legend Forum
Nokta will warranty it, no questions. -
That is a nice start on a new machine. More to come.

What's Up With My Garrett Pro-Pointer At?
JCR replied to TampaBayBrad's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
I have been using the same Energizer rechargeable 9Vs in my Garrett Pro Pointers for 5 years now. They last a long time but I keep a 9V Lithium spare in my pouch at all times. There is not much warning for low voltage. -
In the meantime you might try a strip of adhesive tape over the port & switch.

Sounds like the low battery alert. It may not be able to hold good contact if cracked. -
Conserving Detected Dug Coins & Relics

The brand my local Ace Hardware carries is Loctite. On gilt, I would try lemon juice first after gently cleaning off any dirt. The Navel Jelly as a last resort on stubborn ones. -
Yes, axe head with the eye split open. What you called a spike is some sort of keyed locking pin. It has an unusual specific profile. The looped long handle is threaded on the end. I have not come up with what it might be for. The decorative flat piece is from a wood stove. To me, the pod auger is one of my best finds in a while. An unusual find in unusually good condition. The screw thread tip is even well preserved. Pod augers were quickly superseded by large bore screw augers by the mid 1800's when the Machine age started catching up to everyday life. Until then they had been used for centuries as the only way to bore deep holes in timbers or bore out wooden water pipes.

The title is a proverbial saying to describe a time long ago. The last few weekends I have been hunting one of the oldest sites of local activity. Early 1840's. It is well known & has been hunted by many over the years. It is very overgrow & trashy in the best spots. Not easy hunting but there is still some interesting finds to be made if you look in the right places. Those days long ago were real, and so were the people who lived and built and lost along the way.

Excellent post. Thanks

That is some good hunting. Glad you are out with the Tarsacci.

I've Noticed Something Lately With At-hc
JCR replied to longbow62's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
I have seen initial Iron falses get processed down with repeated passes. If you release the target from the coil and then come back on it it may or may not false again. A good non ferrous target will process up with repeated passes of the coil and readily reacquire if released. -
That shell is a treasure found.

That is a beautiful point. It almost looks to be made from Obsidian, but it is not glossy.

Looks like some stove iron there. I don't know much about rocks but vines are a damned nuisance. Have fun & thanks for posting.

Give Me The Multi Kruzer Anytime
JCR replied to George Kinsey's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
I think you are correct. I think the Anfibio was the first joint project that combined features & characteristics of both companies approach, giving the best of both in a refined package. I wonder if the recent corporate name revision is just a formality because Makro has been fully absorbed or if it reflects a divorce of the two companies. I think it is the former. Again, what impresses me is how refined the Legend is, yet retains the high performance of it's sparky ancestors. -
Give Me The Multi Kruzer Anytime
JCR replied to George Kinsey's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
I assume my Anfibio Multi is very similar to the Multi Kruzer. It has a raw, scratchy edge to the the audio & can easily be over driven. It has a lot of extra power that is hard to keep connected to the ground, kind of like my 1968 Big Block Camaro before I made adjustments to the suspension and learned how to drive it. Once learned it is a very good machine with a lot of nuance. The Legend is so much better behaved and you can pour on all the power in many situations. The effective performance actually surpasses the Anfibio. I kind of wish Nokta would increase the Legend's sensitivity scale to 35. Sometimes I like it on the hot edge.
