  1. I still think an open frame coil with an optional closed skid cover would er the best of both worlds.
  2. High sensitivity/gain levels will give more falsing on rusty undisturbed Iron & make small Aluminum bits appear bigger, especially when they are shallow.
  3. Your comment about the effect cattle ranging has on artifacts reminded me that the old time gun makers use to use cow urine to Brown Rust their barrels & iron gun furniture.
  4. I hope that the Legend user's manual will include a a spreadsheet page showing all the factory default settings like they did with the Impact. AND detailed descriptions of each mode's characteristics.
  5. I hope at the right time there is a nice informative video of the trip. Very nice finds.
  6. Interesting permission you have there. Those early 20th century sharecropper/tenant houses are always meager on coins and heavy on trash. With a history going back to 1740's AND 1000 acres there are some good finds there. Look for the high ground and water and old road beds. Think like people did 200 years ago. Visualize those Topo maps on a changed landscape. It will take a lot of walking and scanning to find the Iron that will mark the OLD sites. I bet your efforts will be rewarded.
  7. Starkly beautiful country. Thanks for the nice photos & report. Maybe someday Tarsacci will produce their Gold specific MDT detector. It may have a better chance in dealing with the hot rocks & mineralization. Interesting dilemma.
  8. That's how the one on the Anfibio works. It also has a headphone jack. I don't see a HP jack on the new one for the Legend.
  9. I will wait and see when mine comes in. It doesn't matter. Whatever NM has set up will work well.
  10. You do not have to remove the factory sealed Lipo battery. The auxiliary battery is add on for backup. I have the same set up on my Anfibio. Very handy.
  11. I'm not an expert & I don't have my references handy, but I think they are for a LeMatt revolver, a popular arm for Confederate Calvary. French made and pretty rare find.
  12. I, too prefer Concentric coils in many hunting scenarios. Particularly to better ID Alum trash & reduce falsing from nails. I always try to purchase them to go with any detector I have. Garrett & Nokta Makro have been especially good at providing them. I hope to see them for the new SMF machines also.
  13. NM has requested input from users on additional coils. There is a specific thread on Tom Dankowski's forum. They also seem to monitor this forum pretty closely. I want to see the KR18C/7" Concentric size available also.
  14. I can't imagine anyone on this forum would think XP would put out a new detector that was not an excellent performer. The reality of the Deus2 does not reduce what ever performance the NM Legend will have. As time goes on each will look at the other & tweak their own if needed. So will Minelab. It's all good for us as detector enthusiasts. I'm not surprised by how good the new Deus2 appears to be so far, I expected no less. I want to be surprised by how good the Legend performs, and I have high expectations. I will wait on NM. If I ever want a Deus, I'll buy one. Keep the D2 videos coming, they are interesting & informative for the most part. Thanks for all the effort that goes into them.
  15. Gary Blackwell has a new video up on the XP Youtube channel. Very informative. Plus the older one…
  16. I have the big Demon coil also & it is great in open areas. Not too heavy, separates & pin points well.
  17. I'm glad to see Our new member and look forward to future posts by another knowledgeable member of NoktaMakro. I hope the Users Manual is released soon. I have been wondering about all the little details that have made my Anfibio so versatile. ISAT adjustment? VCO audio option? Ferrous range of ID scale?
