I've always found they're very slow on Emails. Hopefully it all works out.
I did get a response from NEL this morning. I think I will place the order & make the Pay Pal payment and see if it shows up.

Maybe a token?

Very nice. I really like the larger coils I have too.

Very good hunting. Maybe your spot with the cooking pits is part of the detached kitchen. Your lead coin could be a bag seal.

How many rattlesnakes have you run that detector over? lol
No Rattlesnakes but a few Copperheads. They’re prettier and not in as bad a mood.

Does the SMF help with discrimination? or with the Tones to help me decide what's being detected better than a single frequency? Do I lose sensitivity with the lower Hz of the Legend?
SMF will give better Discrimination accuracy and more accurate tone ID than Single frequency. Members here who regularly hunt for the type of targets you mention will have to advise on over 40 kHz benefits.

Given where you intend to detect, (black sand mineralization & salt water beach) and you intended targets, (small to very small gold), a SMF unit like the Legend will perform significantly better on both ground handling and target acquisition. The Legend's 40kHz capability will also be helpful. The Kruzer series, even the Gold Kruzer are very good for what they are, single frequency. For me, if you have tough ground conditions, SMF is the way to be most productive. That is my experience.

So called "old" tech still works, as it always did. Newer tech is great, but doesn't necessarily obsolete everything that came before. I enjoy that different machines have different capabilities & strengths. It keeps detecting interesting. Excellent finds, Sir.

Thanks for posting the video. I had not heard of him before. He seems to know his stuff & has sites similar to mine, full of nice rusty small iron.

I am disappointed in not having received any response from NEL concerning my Email order request on March 07. I hope they will be able to at some point.

I have never heard of Hennings or counterfeit Nickels. I will have to look that up.
Thanks,

Your link just bring us back to this topic, not to the video.
Sorry. All this kind of stuff is new & unfamiliar to me. You should be able to Copy and Paste the link into your Browser. You can also search You Tube for the channel, "Red Dirt Detecting". I will learn as I go. Please see my Post below.

JCR, can't get the link to open, can you repost? Also do you need to load each individual update or does the most recent capture previous updates?
A new update removes the old version and any saved settings as far as I know. They have added to disconnect the coil when updating on NC 3.7. Then a Master Reset.

Thanks @F350Platinum. All this kind of thing is new to me.

A short video showing the Versa on my mineralized test bed.

I never thought I would do YouTube but here it is. A video I made on the now released NC 3.7 software. The emphasis is on the Versa's performance in mineralized soil & the units Hot Rock adjustment. Others have put out better videos but there is not much information out there showing the special considerations that need to be taken to improve detector performance in mineralized ground.
-
@Iffy Signals did a good job of highlighting some of the features/control adjustments that make the Versa so capable/versatile.
-
Excellent on the Manticore and especially on the operator.

Very nice.
