    Hi From Socal

    Welcome from East Texas.
  3. Welcome from East Texas.
  4. I really think this Forum (DP) has the best format & membership base out there. The new Dankowski format is certainly usable enough. Time will tell what it's membership shapes up to be. I will contribute as I can & try to be positive.
  5. If you are pleased with the Atrex's capabilities you might want to seriously look at the new Rutus Versa. It is very light weight & balanced in a modern waterproof package. The modes & options mirror the Atrex, but the performance has been enhanced considerably. The upcoming software update will enhance it even more. I think a Deus I would be going backwards on performance.
  6. It appears the Spam issue has been addressed now.
  7. Algoforce's approach to & implementation of Customer feedback & suggestions for improvement is exactly what should be the norm. This is an encouraging example of how the Industry has shifted thanks to recent competition. Nokta lead the way, Rutus is following the same path, now Algoforce. This trend will continue with mutual benefit to all.
  8. The Garrett Z Lynk system should work or some similar setup. Is there an XP puck like for D1?

  10. This topic is certainly getting into the weeds of professional level detecting. That is why this Forum is so special. The selectable TID scale vs normalized TID offered as an option on some former top of the line units(Deus I, Impact/Anfibio Multi & Rutus Alter 71/Atrex) would help to some extent. That user choice is missing from the current top releases. I would like to have it back, just because it may be useful in certain situations.
  11. A very encouraging video of the progress being made out of controversy. Thanks @Iffy Signals & Rutus. I think Rutus should be lining up a USA distributor & dealers. There is going to be demand for this performance level/price point. Other manufacturers will be taking notice also.
  12. Welcome from East Texas.
  13. It really is amazing how sensitive the Legend is to very small targets, no matters what coil. I actually seldom run in M2 because it will have me digging too much tiny stuff. A .22 Short slug is small enough for me. JFYI, the Rutus Versa in Multi F Low conductor will see even smaller targets than the Legend. Maybe @EL NINO77can give an opinion on it’s nugget hunting potential.
  14. @RickUK all too true. I have rejoined. I hope you and others will also.
  15. For those interested, Tom Dankowski’s detecting forum has finally been upgrade to a new host platform. It is accessible via a link on the old site at the top of the page. You will have to re register for the new forum but can use your old login. The old site will remain as a read only source of information.
  16. Very neat. Is it made from actual steel wire nails or a nobler metal? Glad you and the Tar are getting out.
  17. A very informative test. I don’t have the opportunity to nugget hunt but even so, SMF detectors opened up a whole new level of detection in difficult soils for me. Their ability to run smooth & stable in the worst mineralized ground, with Iron trash to boot is still a wonder to me. I still have & use my older Single frequency units for certain scenarios & also just for fun, but SMF is the way to go most of the time. EMI has never really caused me a lot of problem. Lowered sensitivity still gets most jobs done if need be. I will usually lower Audio Gain first, then lower Recovery speed if practical. The Legend’s default AG is 1 in Gold Field, I assume that is what you were running. Hope you can get out of the house soon.
  18. Around here, any trash that could not be burned like glass & metal was dumped in a nearby low spot or gully or down into a ravine. You can use a detector with a standard large coil to find the large area signal of Iron. Once found, a probe works very well to feel what is down there. Glass, metal, rocks, roots & both disturbed & undisturbed soil all have their own feel.
  19. Those two videos by @phrunt are very encouraging. Seems new ground has been broken as far as usable ID.
  20. Sounds like a good area to find some bottles in trash dump spots.
