  1. LS,many thanks for that information,it answered everything i need especially the balance and how to find the ideal mounting point.....thanks again for your help.
  2. Welcome to the forum from the UK,i wonder what Doug Dug as his 1st find 🙂
  3. On my GPX 4500 it comes with a full harness but i all ready had a new full harness anyway,do you mount the shaft mount for attaching the bungy above or below the camlock ?? only tried the once today above the camlock and suspended from the right handside anchor of the harness.....how do most folks use the bungy on the full harness especially when using the GPX.....only used it today with the 11'' stock coil,do you use the same setup when using a larger coil like say 18'' or do you move the mount down to the lower shaft just below the cam lock ?? Many thanks
  4. I recently got a GPX4500 in absolutely mint/pristine condition for a crazy low sum and the 4500 prices are dropping,so i grabbed it and also purchased some new coils as well for it....i did have a fair amount of Mono coils that i use on my TDI Pro. I would agree that places like FB sales could be risky but i must admit i have never had any issues with some expensive camera equipment, but i have met the seller face to face and that way i can check the goods prior to parting with my money. Good luck and i hope you find a real decent bargain.
  5. At least something is getting better on that new forum,it's not very enthralling is it,yes i am totally aware that it is brand new but they are not giving it top priority and i can see many top posters just drifting away and almost impossible these days to get folks back posting again.....at one time many detecting forums had been around on the web but FaceAche etc put alot of them out of business and only a few decent ones have survived. Unless Tom pays someone to get it sorted out into some form of decent forum again it wont be long before it closes down.
  6. Always handy to have all the details to make batteries for machines that are no longer made,i was lucky that when i got my TDI Pro i was able to get a brand new spare battery as well,so currently have 2 of them but must admit i was getting concerned about what will happen when the batteries do finally give out.....but saying that not heard as such any long term issues with them. Thanks again for sharing the information and also all the components to build these battery packs.
  7. Luis,in theory i agree with you but i just dont fancy doing the job myself, they are expensive pieces of kit and if you do something wrong then it will cost a arm and a leg to repair......do you make and sell them ?? if so how much.
  8. What is so special about this Battery Cable and why are they so so expensive,do you have to buy it solely from Minelab or do aftermarket ones even if they are made do the same job but at a far cheaper price,i absolutely hate being taken for a ride when a company dictates high prices for something just like this battery cable. As far as i can gather a few folks have mentioned this is a weak link due to it moving all the time, has anyone got any suggestions on who makes cheaper ones but of the same quality as i might carry one as a spare backup one in my detecting bag. Once again many thanks
  9. Good day from the UK.
  10. Just a quick update,a dealer here in the UK is closing down and he had a spare as good as new Docs screamer battery package for about a 1/3 of the price from the US,so well pleased with that result.Batteries as such are not a problem as you can get most of them very cheaply here and will get a few new spare ones rather than carry around the massive battery that comes with the detector. Many thanks for all your input and suggestions it's been a tremendous help.
  11. Many thanks that does look like the battery kit that i am after, the biggest problem possibly is shipping to the UK....thanks again for your help and suggestion.
  12. Would like some help/advice again please folks regarding these 'Doc Screamer Power Packs',as i understand it they are mainly used to reduce the overall weight by doing away with the large factory battery pack,i will be running it on my GPX 4500 but not for nugget hunting but deep pasture and ploughed sites here in the UK....so my question is my learned friends are they worth the pretty steep investment in this battery package or do folks use other 'reliable' options ?? I wont be using a external speaker because i will be using full cup headphones all the time as the temperatures dont get as hot as say in Aussie land during the peak summer months, even during the hottest days here i will then usually use the XP Deus wired backphones which in my opinion produce amazing audio quality at such a cheap bargain price. Many thanks
  13. It was a great forum at one time, but in recent years with folks unable to post etc it has gone down hill rapidly,i have not been able to post anything for nearly a year or so,alot of folks have all ready give up and left. I hope it will still survive but i highly doubt it will ever recover gain to its former glory,of course i do hope i am wrong but i dont think i am wrong,it should have been updated years ago.
  14. Thats a wicked find,i like that alot.....totally unusual i think you have hit the nail on the head with that find.
  15. Decided that was the right coil for my type of detecting and ordered it from Bulgaria, should be here in the UK within the next 7-10 days and will be the stock everyday use coil....have about 8 coils for the GPX from the 6'' Mono Coiltek upto a 18'' Detech Mono coil.
  16. Looking at getting one of these coils Detech 11 DD Anti Interference for Minelab GP, SD or GPX detectors for my GPX,the stock coil that comes with it is the stock 11'' Mono which i dont particularly like as a stock coil, but this Detech 11'' AI coil is seriously grabbing my attention as a everyday use coil,it will never be used for nugget hunting predominately for coin, artefacts and hoard hunting, but will mainly use my selection of larger coils for the latter option. Has any one on the Forum used one of these coils and if so am i going down the right route for my needs and would you recommend this coil as they are pretty tough coils and a decent price here in the UK although they are shipped from Bulgaria. Rick
  17. I personally think after using one for nearly 20 years the 10x6 white elliptical one is still the best coils they made, one after market one that does come close is the SEF 8x6 coil which i use on a few of my detectors,i purchased on just last week brand new for my T2 which makes it a deadly combination, currently my SEF 8x6 one for Whites detectors is on my DFX.
  18. I certainly have not posted anything about this new detector and 2 reasons why,i dont and never have done nugget hunting although i do own 3 PI machines but they are solely for hoard and artefact hunting and also i never have purchased a brand new detector until it's been out for 12 months and the reason behind that way of thinking is to see if any major design or software issues start appearing, most modern either VLF or PI machines are hyped up and then the final bugs are ironed out after they have sold alot and that is the main reason i dont buy a machine until it's at least 12 month old. Must admit this new PI machine does look interesting and a few major things it has going for it is the fact it uses established things like GPX coils which is a massive plus i must admit, good luck to all the new owner and hope they turn out to be ultra reliable.
  19. AA alkaline batteries are 1.5 volts, rechargeable AA battery are 1.2 volts.
  20. A potential Anglo Saxon grave but nothing was confirmed, but later activity during house building found some activity.

    Hello

Welcome from just north of London 😉
  22. Thanks folks regarding my question about Boost mode,on my older model you cannot toggle between Discrimination mode and AM once you have set the machine up,but my new T2+ you can so well please with that, have never got on with the stock coil so i have a brand new SEF 8x6 coil arriving tomorrow which will suit my trashy roman/saxon sites....once again thanks for all your help. Also just put on my very rare experimental 6'' coil from Coiltek of which as far as i can tell only 12 was made, its basically slightly bigger ground coverage of the factory 5'' but it boost mode certainly on my test patch does gives some welcome extra depth so great on really trashy sites as the coil in boost mode acts like a laser beam.
  23. Welcome to the forum, not sure what Tn stands for but guess it means Tennessee or have i got that totally wrong ?? regards from the UK. 🤣🤣🤣
  24. Just a quick question,my new T2+ arrived this morning and also ordered another couple of smaller coils as i have never been a fan of the stock coil,my question is after switching the T2 on,i would usually go straight to AM mode which is self explanatory or in the earlier days Discrimination mode,i am aware on how to get into both of these settings but how do you go into Boost mode and than transfer over to AM mode, its either one or the other, but cannot see how to transfer over into AM mode after selecting Boost mode ??? any suggestions on this one please even if it is possible which i am almost certain it can be. Many thanks
