  1. Thats the old one thats for sale mate, he only finished dialing the new beast in a couple weeks ago. New one is a lot bigger with more bling ?
  2. Haha, cool videos. I hadnt seen those before, thats a mate of mine from just down the road. Keep an eye on his channel, might see his new dry blower, its a Beast!
  3. I always stuck to the each person keep what they find, because usually I would find a lot more. But after spending the last year working with a partner, going halves, it is so much more enjoyable to both be on the same high with every nice find!
  4. This a prime example of the 'imposter Australians ' that you need to be aware of over here. They try to trick others that there slap and tickle game is real Australian football, when everyone knows a true blokes game is Rugby League. They often congragate in the southern areas of Australia ( Victoria) and are usually referred to as Mexicans by true Aussies. Please everyone be careful of these tricky buggers. This has been a public service safety announcement for our friends across the pond. Trent King President of the We love XXXX association
  5. I have both the mini and the big petrol crushers from the Armstrongs and have been very happy with them. I did burn the electric motor out a couple of years ago from a mistake of my own. From the generator running out of fuel shut it down with material still inside, I meant to clean it out the next morning. Next morning fired the generator up, hadnt cleaned it out or turned the switch off and it burnt out. Since then I have put about 4 ton through it, mostly cap and quartz specis. I am still on the first set of impactor bars but they do need replacing. Big material needs to be dollied down to about the size of an aussie 50c. And must be bone dry. Often cap has small amounts of moisture in it, we spread it out on tarps in the backyard for a few days to make sure its super dry. Single pass is the best thing I like about it, most other small impact crushers I have used require you to feed it through several times which is a pain. I got the 0.8mm screen as well as the standard 1.2mm. I rarely use the 0.8mm as the 1.2 does good enough for me and means you can feed it a lot quicker. I orginally got it to fit in my caravan because of its small size to sample in the bush. Now it sits on my workshop bench as a great 5 sec speci smasher.
  6. I have no intention of starting a big fight like has been seen on other forums (please remove if out of line Steve). But the first post looks like a cut and copy from a glossy advert. How does someone expect us all to believe this thing is the greatest since sliced bread with not a single bad point or niggle? It just doesnt sound independant and unbiased to me. Also I just cant see what new technology this detector is using that hasnt been seen before? Please try not to get offended by my questions as it is not what I mean, just trying to point out how it looks to an outside observer, and hopefully get some finer detail on the new machine.
  7. Dont tell me they copied General Herculese sky crane! ??? I can feel a new vid coming on !
  8. Those settings in the picture are not for a gpx5000. Could you show a picture of the detector?
  9. I have always wanted to detect some native silver, doent seem to be no where near as common in Aus, all ours are yellow :(
  10. Well done mate, amazing whats possible with the zed once you learn how to understand her.
  11. Nah mate, we detect it all first and it has proved that we detect pretty well. Nothing over about 0.3g yet.
  12. Been busy enjoying the good weather, finally uploaded a short video of it running.
  13. Haha, from most of the replys I dont think they realise you were talking about getting into the car ?
  14. Royal flying doctor base and hospital at Meekatharra ?
  15. I dont detect the pile off the back, it has already been detected. We push 4" layers off and detect with a 16" coil, only digging screamers, leaving the smaller signals for the dry blower. Everything we miss should be small enough to go through the 1/2" screen. There are two screens on the shaker deck. First 3/4" then 1/2". The trays are emptied once an hour into a bin, which is screened down to 1/4" before going in the knudsen bowl.
  16. The shaker deck and conveyer are run of the same diesel motor. We put quite a bit of thought into this as dust is also a major problem with similar designs here. My mate nearby uses Chonda motors bought in bulk. The dust bowl on the air inlet is not visible in the pics but does a good job of pre filtering and so far hasnt even got dirty due to positioning the machine right for the wind. That leads to the big ass filter then through that dodgy looking pipe to the originsl filter housing. Im reasonbly confident this setup will survive. The big boxes front and back house electic blower motors. These were the biggest headache. Not wanting the motors to suck dust but also not wanting the air intke to suck dust as it clogs the tray cloth from below ( generally takes about half hour, trust me i tried it . Chimineys were also considered but were just too much of a pain to build and would still have sucked in dust anyway. So I decided to put big panel filters on each box and just blow them out every time the trays are emptied, which is about once an hour at the moment.. Havent really measured tonnage yet. The keene trays are rated for 15tph but i dont think that was measured with big twin shakers. What Im seeing at the moment is about 15-20tph with slow loading. The trays are running nice like this, but could take more.
  17. Finally finished the new dry blower I have been building with 5 Keene 151 trays . Then took her out for a trial and got her dirty! Works bloody great!! I did a video but havent finished editing, will upload it a bit later.
  18. Detinately very dodgy and a known problem for several years. Nearly everyone I know has broken them multiple times, you would think they would have made some good ones by now!
  19. Thats a good amount of dirt for very little time, good job. Dont be discouraged by less than average results, the next one may be the motherlode!
  20. Its amazing how under utilized dry blowing is in Australias eastern states. I have been to areas in NSW with mates who where pumping water 50-100m away with highbankers, set up right next to em with my little keene 140 and got just as much gold. Dont believe that bone dry bullchit that I have heard. Ive put slighty damp material through heaps of times and works really well in chunky gold areas.
  21. Well done Paul. I got a mate who has also mastered the high and wide technique, I dont mind him coming along cause he is no threat
  22. 2300 found a couple of leaders for me last season.
  23. I dont know your mate at Bodalla, but do know the area well. I released a series of prospecting maps for around there that took several months of field work. Bloody great fishing there too as well as nice gold!
  24. I noticed all the photos are from the North and West goldfields, so thought I would show some pics of the wetter Eastern goldfields. 1. Adelong NSW. 2. Wee Jasper NSW. 3. Tuena NSW. 4. Reedy Ck VIC. 5. Creswick VIC
