  1. The story with the old man is a gem in how I found a spot tales . Nice finds . Hope you find many more๐Ÿ€ Maybe he hid some of his better ones ? ๐Ÿค”
  2. Yer killin' me over here! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Another great day at that place , the ground keeps giving and giving. I love the way you're getting it "mapped" regarding what you've found already ! Giving some of that treasure back to those permissions makes them want to multiply doesn't it ? I think you're gonna never run out of those neighborhood sites . Terrible situation ! Hit those fields ,I think planting comes early this year.......
  3. I'll leave that for others more experienced with finding large objects with the current crop of detectors. But this link may give you more insight in what you're up against...
  4. Welcome aboard Tom , Nice speci ! Clicking the 69 here in a couple of weeks myself . And yes slowing down seems like a good idea ...๐Ÿ™„ But stopping ? I don't think so. I'm still learning my 800 but starting to get there. This place helped a LOT ! To see if any of those mysteries have already been solved just ask ! Lots of things already posted too , start here
  5. Welcome aboard John ! I'm guessing your budget is around the 540 price ? Stepping into a PI could be a bit more. If you've never detected before , learning what the machine is telling you is job #1 . Do some detective work on where he liked to be on that property if possible . ANY detector searches a really small area at a time . Narrow down the search area if you can, The rest will still be there if you don't have any luck where you look first. Good luck , whatever you try looking with !๐Ÿ€ ORRRRRR........ Invite everybody over to help to cover more ground with all types of detectors.? You'd have plenty to negotiate a "finders fee " with !๐Ÿคฉ LOL
  6. You're famous now Compass ! Millions of people have seen you on TV . That counts ! Congrats
  7. Yeah , great spot for some commercials anyhow,,take as long an intermission as you need.
  8. Hmmmm ๐Ÿค”the silver would probably heat up less in the sun,,,, Naaah gold of course ๐Ÿ˜ arrrrrrrrrr
  9. Nice collection ! Haven't seen a Boy Scout slide in a long time..
  10. I know basic stuff for us but good advise for those new old farts ! So yer piggy bank is on it's own (I couldn't find the emoji with both eyes shut !) I've enjoyed their video's the country is nice looking camping , that helicopter ride to the prospect site must be awesome and the gold looks pretty good too. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen any painted rocks either and speaking of either , either she doesn't show all that she finds or she's not making a lot. This new vid makes me think she might be hoping for some extra clicks and new subscribers . Thought we might be able to help with that. And her nice hat blew off and fell down a mine shaft so that's just a substitute and she needs a proper new best hat too ! Go Krissy!, and Mark , wherever you are?
  11. Dear Jed: Get the biggest rifle you can find and set it and the best shot in the camp up on the highest point that the gun still has enough wallop to blow a hole in the first attacker you could throw a cat through ,, and the rest of your crew start digging and GIT 'ER DONE ! One look at something like that would produce a scattering effect seldom ever and probably never seen in those gold fields. No , I didn't learn that on the touring circuit , though it might have come in handy a time or two . I know a very poilte "retired" Canuck special forces guy , he always said "terribly sorry" . Great campfire stories , I have heard,,, if you think THIS one has you on the edge of your seat ! Personally , I would have of course preferred the already mentioned pirate method . Yo oh ! 811 ozt ! Pfeeeeeeeeeeeewww (kinda makes it hard to breath !) Good thing the hooligans don't know that , it would certainly narrow that scatter effect.
  12. How many toes DOES he have anyway ? Is it 2 or 10, ? Maybe it;s 2 EXTRA toes huh ? and it's 12 ! Could it be an "Ancient Alien"๐Ÿ‘ฝ encounter explains this mystery? Will the answer be found on this episode ? Will they find the Arc ? (Noah's , not the Covenant , that's another show) Will that "top pocket find" be disclosed also ? Where's the Radio Shack ? I have questions !
  13. SOOOOOO , Was it just dirt in the CAN??? Part 2 ? arrrrrrrrrrgh๐Ÿ˜‹ Ya know ๐Ÿค”I know a place where there's LOTS of paint cans , some are blue paint too ! Now , wherrrrre was that? Sherwin ,,something , can't remember .......
  14. Help them O B Wan KasteveG , you are their only hope !๐Ÿ–– (I love mixing up Star Trek and Star Wars references , It makes the fans soooooooo mad !)๐Ÿค—
  15. Aureous ,,,Yaaaaaaa baby ! Ridge ,,,Classic , love it ! And about Dig it's fishk ,,,, I know for a fact some can catch fish like that ! I saw it in a movie once........๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  16. ๐Ÿ™ƒ It's better if you stand on your head while reading my posts sometimes !
  17. They shoulda run him thru and hung 'im inna cage ta let the sun bleach 'is bones like a pirate that he is . He'd solve who the mine title came from and make a AWESOME No Trespassing sign at the same time ! ๐Ÿ˜ . arrrrrrrrr
  18. Those will Attenuate (cut back) frequencies below the 200Hz cut off point. Depending on the cut off slope (probably 3dB per octave?) so even if it was at the same level ,,,not too much closer to the 200 and the lower Hz more. Leave 'em in the cart and try less bass heavy phones like suggested ^ which may or may not be different in your favor... The Quincy Jones signature AKGs I think 701's ? are studio flat I have a set somewhere. I'll do a test with my Nox to see if it would help ? ya . Not sure what sound profile your ears prefer so might be a personal test required... Think foamy ear cushions vs the tightly sealing ones . A little battery powered eq (like a GTR stomper) probably wouldn't get you much closer either unless you can strap some parametrics and a generator in there somewhere ! Sorry it wasn't so simple man , I feel yer pain. OSM sez (Old Sound Man) When in doubt hook 'er up ! it might blow , but then y'll know....skuh kuh kuh kuh Just kidding. On a better note , some detectors can adjust the volume level of the tone segments (nox +? )
  19. Sounds like you got your learner's permit aced Toad ! GO Go Go
  20. Yeah , he even showed you where he parked ! ๐Ÿ˜‡ Seems to do alright ,,,he got that car with rings ! I worked Hampton and Salisbury and most of the Boston circuit clubs back in the biz too. Things have changed a lot since then I guess probably would not recognize anything except for the beaches themselves . If the area around OOB is any indicator . Could find 'em all by water though but me Cap traded the Whaler for a retro canned ham camper ! Can't fish in THAT ! And then he moved to Virginia ,James river on the bay..... Now jonesing for another Montauk ! with a ski tower , for TUNA ! That's me Cap ! From Southport Isl . There be pirates there ! Anyway..... Never explored much below the border by sea , you must know a lot of little hard to find beaches having a boat down there ! (you seem to know some up here too) Think my cuz might still have a little aluminum outboard ( sears?) , not sure how many lifejackets ????๐Ÿ˜‰ Maybe I should pick up a survival suit before asking ...little boats are nice but they belong on lakes don't they ? Definitely NOT outside ! Dick's in S Portland has some MineLab 800s+540s but that's it , no pointers , scoops or anything. Cabella's is supposed to have some prospecting accessories too . The rest of the places I've found just have the ~$100 units on the shelf.. My main reason to go to Hampton is Seacoast Coin ,I'd rather buy someplace local than Amz, Just found the website thx for the name. Not much to pick from detectorwise uptah camp in the Pine Tree. arrrrrrrr
