Nox No Longer Charges.. Any Advice?
rvpopeye replied to Erik Oostra's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Yup yup , If you have a 600 . Switching the batteries and trying charging both will tell you if its the battery or charger circuit that's giving you the problem ! -
Nox No Longer Charges.. Any Advice?
rvpopeye replied to Erik Oostra's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Most devices have a battery monitor circuit that shuts the unit down before the battery gets too low to accept a charge. The PD battery may "jump start" the battery to get it charging regularly again but if not , going with a new battery isn't too hard to do. I have a small PD battery I carry as a backup in case the built in one dies before I do ! Oh My Goshk ! Haven't needed it yet but will also work on the cell phone , headphones or whatever else needs charging..... Maybe someone will come out with one of those sun shade hats with a built in solar panel that can keep the detector fully charged as long as there is sun shining ??? LOL -

That looks like a Dan Healy sound system set up for The Grateful Dead ! ,,, knowing him , the speaker cabinets would have each been assigned their own target ID frequency ! -

So , I don't have to wait for bike tracks ? -
I was at the beach early am. Found the spot. About 40'x 120' The "bunker" was totally sanded in by the extra high tide last night , so grid the dry and got 2 pull tabs and a strange item ID#8 , it looked like the sealing part from a modern mason jar screw on lid but beer bottle size , made out of metal with some printing obscured by rust , and that was it ! ???? Whoda thunk it , neat teens ? Tide was almost out by then so zig zagged my way up the wet sand shelf towards the parking lot. On the way out I scanned the ledge at one end of the beach by the entrance/exit. It is a natural "bench" that lost of people sit on ....Target found , a 32-34 ,,,silver quarter ???? Second scoop came up with a small 4oz size olive? jar full of sand , dumped the sand out and a shiny N.H state quarter appeared ! USUALLY a 29-30 ? Hmmm the glass jar? bumped the ID # up ? ......78 cents in this year's clad pile ! About 20' from the first quarter found on first trip to this beach in march. LOL 2 more hours on the nox clock. Memorial Day weekend comin' right up.......target count will change then , but I like the spot so don't care .. Lots of other beaches south of here to search then too. Next trip is a lakeside park if I can get a detect-o-pass from the ranger....

Need Help With A Token

So ,,, I was sittin' in the shade , coolin' off from the beach and decided to run a coil over the grass here next to me ! It's a barrier with a parking lot next door. They plow all their snow on it every winter. Mining the "Alps" , the easy way , just wait for 'em to melt ! Park 1 , Left the 11" coil on from the beach........ neg ID# opened up . Cleaning up the crap to see what's below. Grid off a 6' by 25' section and stuck a twig on the targets , about 20 of them. Pop on the 6" grab the pointer and the mini spade , the garden knife and my OLD car door window crank remover. Moved in with the pinpointer and checked for surface finds and polished them all off with the knife and window tool. Zeroed in with the 6" tweaking twig locations and then cut in all the plugs at once with the mini spade ! Then used a piece of 6 mil plastic to pop the plugs on next to each hole and began probing and scooping out dirt and dropped all finds in my old floaty 1/4" classifier/ sifter as I went. 2 hours on the nox clock... Plenty of pop tops and bottle caps , can slaw , 2 mangled keys ( from a snow plow blade LOL) a couple pieces of rusty wire , foil , etc.......and a clad dime 1997 plus 5 memorial pennies. Add that to the dime and 3 pennies from the campground site hunt AND the quarter from the beach hunt in march = 53 cents ! My down payment on a 6000 fund grows ever larger.... I hope those kids all get wasted , well except for the designated drivers ! Yeah right !

I saw it on a geek vid channel , North Zealandia is New Caledonia and New Zealand is South Zealandia . The rest is under water but they decided it was dry for long enough time in history to qualify. Link to map + vid.vvvvvvvvvvvvvv (I just saw this is very similar to Northeast's link , hey if you saw it on the internet......) -
Just missed my low tide by an hour so lost most of the "flat" wet sand , about 8' left before the drop off slope started up. beach 1 Started out hugging the slope bottom , nothin'....... nothin'......... nothin'......................... 2 ! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm YUP The T Rex chewed through the hard packed sand and the hole didn't immediately fill with water either ! On the 6th scoop the target moved out of the hole....It's A Riiiii ,,,,,Corona Cap .awwwwwwwwwwww... Spent about an hour working the slope before the hips said stop. Climbed up 10' higher to the top and there it WAS ! Finally ! DEPOSITORS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About 30 college kids were setting up for somethin'???? A half dozen bozo's digging a "bunker?" with their hands , bent over shooting the sand between their legs creating rooster tails of sand like a pack of hyena's . skuh kuh kuh kuh Another half dozen throwing footballs ,,,and another dozen bikini babes running into the (51* f 11*c) surf.. Mehhhhhhhh. CUZ ,,, before me lay the most wonderful sight ! Piles of clothes and shoes EVERYWHERE ! Mental image of the spot and back to the car ..Going in for the bunker cleanup tomorrow , hope they don't fill them back in ,,,,,nahhhhhhhh ) 11:15 am , low tide 0.5 More Corona's ,,but maybe.................? Unless Mom calls , then she gets to have an ice cream on the way to the beach ! (they re-set when they turn 90 so she's 7 !)

Once Again At My Favorite Beach - GPX 5000
rvpopeye replied to schoolofhardNox's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
The sheer volume of finds is impressive . One of the copper cents is almost gone !.... sand fleas ? Nothing like that here,,,so far. (Maybe the Corona caps? I think that guy comes here..LOL...) Endless amounts of junk on your beach and you still find gold.....It would be my favorite beach too !
