Next weekend is the annual suicidal ski bums being towed by gleeful horse owners yelling every feet per second they can out of their horses whipping the ski bums around the fairground harness track. Several jumps courtesy of town dumpers clearing the last storm up are spaced around the outer edge of the track for extra points. (that's the suicidal part).🙃 These aren't the harness horses that only trot either.. So enough of the scene here , the reason I'm posting is all of the (dead)grassy areas including the one I'm in are being plowed (since the sun came up) to increase the parking to maximum sooooooo. I had to go out with the detector , and I'm pretty glad I did ! 🤗 I was finding all kinds of targets everywhere ! Of course it's still frozen solid so I couldn't dig anything. I'm going back out after I finish shaking this can of spray paint 🥸 then I'm putting an old cooler with a light bulb in it upside down over the paint marks one by one. I don't care what the giant mouse said yesterday about spring . I tail snagged meself a root slayer shark and it B hungry......... 🏴‍☠️

I watched a detectormod video on LRLs today . It was a detector tech's opinion of them . He gave a nod to Detector/Prospector forums and that first line in Steve's opening post on this thread. I am returning that nod.

Welcome aboard ! Boring is all a matter of perspective.🥸 There are even people that think prospecting and metal detecting are boring ! Don't be afraid to post your questions and comments . .

Definitely keep reading , but don't hesitate asking yer questions it's the best way to get an answer ! And get up to speed with your detector , learning what they are trying to tell ya is the key to good finds , if you just keep upgrading you keep starting from square one and the only treasarrrr will be for the manufacturer's. ( General rule is 100 hours (if yer payin' attention) just to learn the easy words it's speakin' to ya ! ( some arrrrr easier than others ) .. Not saying you won't "get lucky " ( it has a different definition here than it did in the clubs I spent most of my life workin' in....) LOL😜 ! You already got some pay dirt level luck , you found the best place to learn ! I've been here over 3 years and I still haven't read half of what's already posted , just keeping up with the daily posts takes up some considerable time . Hope you finally become at one with that machine yer swingin' and start hearin' those 1776 ghosts..... Good Luck on yer next hunt ! 🏴‍☠️

Bydogged I hunt beaches for the same gimped up reasons. But a nice inland permission is too hard to pass up so , every once in a while try the turf even if just a little bit , might be your lucky day ! I only hit one beach this year. and only for a couple of hours ,,, got 2 silvers ! One was a big fat (gold plated 🙄) ring ! Take what ya get , or somebody else will....😜 I'm living at my permission now, a 150 yo fairgrounds with new depositors every 3rd week of August. My last good find ? a tac flashlight that lists for $ 35 See if ya can detect my Uptah Camp thread FMI . I'd post a pointy finger link but that's too easy for a real Son of the Beach , right ? 🥸
