Yup, Seems kinda shady to me. When I got my MK the box was sealed but the contents were a little beat up and loosened from the long trip to the US. I photographed the entire box opening, just in case I had a problem. Hopefully your seller will make it right. Nobody wants to blow their hard earned money on used, sold as new crap. If you do not get justification let us know.

Thank you a lot for the support!!

    I did the same(photograph recorded)!!

also I noticed something more as well.... The serial number on the box and papers doesn't much with the one ON the unit!! (There are 2 labels though 1.for system box 2.all unit?? )Are these numbers supposed to be different??

    Thanks, NIK.

I just get steamed because I've had it happen to me, too, only I also had missing parts.   It all gets resolved in the end but it just burns me up when I see this.

    Good luck.

    Mike,

Now I can relate with your feelings

When it happens to you it gets real personal quick.

I had a dealer drop ship a detector from the detector company and it was missing part of the shaft. I called and told the rep. what I was missing but for a month I got the wrong part.

When I did get the correct part I sold that detector and I said I’ll never buy from them again.

For what it’s worth it was a sealed box . I think it would be best for you if they did check to make sure you getting what you paid for .

    Hi Chuck

Yeah you 've got a point, but I think that was to much, did I mention that the pinpointer and it's parts where also thrown in the same box?!!! I think it looked suspicious and I am glad I shared it with the forum team!!

When I buy new I want the new experience I paid the money for.  I want to be the one to open the box the first time.   I want to be the one to do the first un-packing.  I want to enjoy the pristine condition of a brand new blemish free unit fresh from the box.

An open box isn't new.  Its a return or a demo unit the dealer is offloading, hoping you won't care.

Want to share the dealer's name so we don't inadvertently do business with them, because I don't want to buy from a guy who thinks its ok to open boxes and try out detectors and then try to resale them as new units.

    Hi Mike

I want to believe it will be sorted out soon!! You don't have to worry though, that dealer is in Northern Europe (where I am also located ,at the moment)

I totally agree with you that it is wrong

I m just gonna be a little bit more patient till tomorrow before I start blaming someone!! If there is anyone though who is located in Europe at the moment I ll gladly share my whole "experience" Beforehand!!

  4. Hello everyone and thank you for your replies!!

To be honest I was disappointed as well!! I just contacted the dealer, they told me they do open the box to check the unit etc.... I just e mailed some photos as well and waiting to see  what they will tell me!! 🤷‍♂️ 😤

  5. Just received my NEW metal detector "anfibio multi"

Is that the usual appearance of a new machine 🤷‍♂️

Also the pulse dive seems to make a small noise from the inside every time I rotate/shake it , like there is  something  small "floating" inside!!

    (+they were partially charged) 🙄

PS : it was bought from an official dealer!!

Maybe I am overthinking about it 😅what do you think?!

    Thank you in advance

Have you actually been able to hold and swing both the Equinox, the Anfibio and the Impact? You might learn a lot from that experience and from working a bit with the controls. I am an older person and the Anfibio felt really heavy to me. The Equinox is not the best ergonomically either but there are many ways to make it lighter including aftermarket carbon fiber shafts which make the Equinox much more comfortable.

As Kac has mentioned, have you looked at the Nokta Makro Multi Kruzer? It is a bit less expensive than the Anfibio and is based on the excellent Makro Racer and Racer 2 whereas the Anfibio is based on the Impact from what I understand. Both have been waterproofed and have full wireless operation as opposed to their predecessors.

Also, from what you have mentioned as your likely hunting areas, I don't know why you would absolutely need the Equinox 800. An Equinox 600 with a set of aftermarket Bluetooth low latency ATPX earbuds or headphones might suit you just as well.

To be honest I haven't!! Actually I haven't even got the chance to see the machines in person!! This whole  Corona virus "chapter" Has kept me in lock down mode for a long time and the stores selling  these detectors are in another city ,near by...but still out of reach!! So at the moment all I am doing is reading , research and watching videos 🤷‍♂️

As for my hunting areas , I concluded it would  Be something working for greater depths(for larger objects)  as well... That's why I thought of impact and anfibio multi, with anfibio multi might be winning because it is waterproof and cheaper !! (I still don't now why the impact is more expensive around here?!?!?!)

Ps. I never thought of the kruzer 🙄

My friend, literally  I am changing my mind every day 🤣 I think when I get to test the detectors I ll make my choice!! 🤪

The GTI 2500  whit BIG Nel  coil ...has been used by my colleague for a long time, and it is a deep detector on the ALL Metal program ...

Garett ATX is also a deep detector..and I will have the opportunity to test soon .....👍

Sounds great!! HH with the new detector , let us know how it worked 😉 (swallow and deep targets)

From top class detectors  and 11"-13" coil .. you can realistically detect a larger coin at 40 cm, a military buckle at 65 cm, a field bottle at 90 cm, and a military helmet at 120  and more cm ...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

450 grams of silver depot can be detected at 85-90 cm ...my Tek.G2 in Test...

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The NATO 20x 30cm ammunition box with the Two-box can be detected 150 cm in the ground.

    That's interesting!! Nice videos , thanks 😁

Never had in mind the Teknetics 😬

Nobody says you will go through these issues. Most don’t. That’s just the truth. People don’t take time to tell you they are not having issues... they only report problems. The Equinox is easily the worlds most popular detector, and that is not because it lets everyone down. Plus Minelab except when parts get short has been excellent in covering all the people with these issues under warranty. Finally, no machine is perfect. Kind of sounds like deep down you want the Anfibio. Nothing wrong with that. Good luck!

If I knew for sure I would go for it hahaha  ....but yes to be honest I am leaning towards the anfibio just a little bit.... The dive impulse is another thing  that would go great with it 🤪

What are you searching for that is of such a size?  Most people (looking for smaller items, like coins or natural gold) would prefer those large targets gave minimal response as they 'polute' the area around them causing masking and thus missed good targets.  Well, we can wish all we want but it's not happening, thanks to mother nature (aka physics -- the universal rules).

People who are interested in large, deep targets use either two-box induction balance (IB) detectors or the pulse induction (PI) detectors with the strongest pulse currents.  I assume the videos you refer to are comparing IB/VLF detectors -- deep large target recovery not being their strong suit.

Large items are generally easier to detect to great depths so we don't usually spend a lot of time discussion the detection of the larger objects.

We tend to focus on small item detection because those are the hardest to detect and most affected by masking and ground minerals.

We tend to call large object hunting, "cache" hunting and and most any good detector with a larger coil will detect those target sizes deeper than you would want to dig by yourself.

I'll just throw this out there.....holes deeper than your waist are unsafe to dig alone.  You need a buddy for deep hole digging.   And real excavation requires some forethought before you hop down in there...even bulldozer scrapes....you need a buddy.

    Hello Mike!!

Thank you for the addition info!!

Well I bet they do, but also sounds  REALLY interesting don't you think?!?! To dig something out as deep as your hight.... It's crazy!!!

  12. Hello!!

Well to be honest ,it s not like I am looking for something. I recently start engaging with this exciting hobby!!

You could say that I just wanna know about the different capabilities of different detectors etc....

Something bigger could be an ammunition box or a just any box sized object !!

I also came across with some of Garrett's detectors....like  Gti 2500 or ATX deep seeker or  ATmax!!They claim to go deeper for" larger" objects as well for  smaller coin size!!

Ps: thanks for mentioning the PI and IB detectors

  13. We all have seen many videos comparing  metal detectors , changing the coils, frequencies and all kind of settings so they can maximize the capabilities of the "machines"!

But what about the same machines abilities to detect larger targets like a 20x20 cm or 40x30cm  on greater depths??

Am in the only one Qurious about it 🤪

Have someone seen something about it??

Amphibio might be your better choice, you have some good beaches there to pick at as well. There are a lot of coils for the Amphibio/Kruzer series and impact too. I think just the Gold Kruzer has limited coil options.

Thank very much my friend, for your help and time!! It was really helpful!! Shall I ask you something more, if you could choose among any company and model .... Which detector you would pick/or recommend

  15. Thank you all for the responses 😁

Well , at the moment I ll be staying in Greece and I wanted a detector for this kind of area! Funny thing is that here the impact is more expensive than anfiobio multi!! 🤷‍♂️ (even the standard version of it)...makes me wonder....

To begin with ,I had in mind exploring areas such as mountains, fields, around lakes and rivers !! The question is,shall I just buy the anfibio which is a better $$deal +it's waterproof+ (there is a mode for crypt?) Or the impact will respond better inland !!

Also the impact seems to have some alternatives in coils, is it the same for anfibio multi??
