  1. Don't ask me, watch the world news
  2. According to the lady, the native peoples of Oman are so rich from oil most wouldn't stoop to pick up a gold ring. This is hard for us to wrap our brains around. Also practically all labor is hired from near by Yemen. But all this and more is on the Official Oman web site. So in the end , for myself I can't travel to Oman and Mexico is out of the question
  3. So, detectorstuff after a small load of suggestions to ask, how is this interview proceeding?
  4. Having better quality head phones (water proof) or at least making the Tarsacci compatible with after market head phones. I've got 9 months salt water hunting over 3 years. Along with many, many land hours, no down time. Except the stock head phones don't belong on a machine as good as the MDT 8000
  5. Aaron, you and your vidios were a great help to me early on. Wish you the best.
  6. You are right Chuck. No one knows what's a Tarsacci. I'm not even sure how many on here even have one. Two things I believe. Dimilar will answer the phone and get us through a problem. People Will express their problems with a product. Most I hear. (the tones). Ok. Not being multi frec. Well we knew that going in. Here's a huge one ,coil covers (Wow) Not much or anything said about flooding. Now that's something. Being able as advertised to run stable in salt water. That's big for a lot of us. Getting back to flooding. If 80 - 90 % of the Tarsacci's flooded, it would be curtins. Another company, sales just increase with Leaky Lee's. Now figure that.
  7. Where I winter (Fla. Gulf Coast) l bump into no less than 6 other hunters, all waders. 5 of them swing the Nox 6 or 8 hundred one the At Pro. Every single Nox has flooded and was returned for repair. And to be fair, the repairs were made in very quick time. So far not one has reflooded. How's the Tar stand against the others? I would say neck and neck. Except for one fellow, best results are usually determined by where one happens to hunt on that day. Now as far as our one exception,. he's 12 years younger, loves the hunt, smart and strong as a bull. Beats us near everyday no matter what he's swinging. The Tar match's depth, is far more reliable and simpler to use (I believe). I also believe if there was just one other hunter swinging the Tarsacci it sure would help sales. Now how does that happen? Somewhat lower prices sure would help. Along with that , practically No one's even heard of the Tarsacci. There's only one way to fix that.
  8. Now that's a tip well worth looking into. While fishing on my boat I've noticed party boats tied together for weekend fun. Most of these areas can only be reached by boat. Have had quite a few nice hunts wadeing on those places. Decades of Treasure, pull tabs, rusty caps, shot gun brass and you name it. Had a couple nice honey holes till, Alas, I was noticed by other hunters. And I mean they were good ones too. Left Nothing, I mean cleaned the place up Spic & Span. Like The Stalkers tip, you gotta find these places out.
  9. I'm definitely moving my winter vacation to a different town next year. Stalker results like that keep our dreams going. Great job of sniffing out that Treasure. Dancer
  10. Looks like the Bird knows how to clean brass. That's a great job Birdman.
  11. Stalker I hope you have at least that much fun on your next stay.
  12. Couple day storm subsided but chummed up some targets. Couple pals broke a buck one dug a junk rink, some sinkers. They were out little past their waist. I stayed closer to shore hunting some deeper sand. Couple deep quarters, sinker, tent peg and of course some tabs ,caps. Sorta broke the Ice on the second target, a Blackened ring with stones. After some cleaning, 925 Silver. Where I'm hunting most targets are 2-3 deep scoops to the hard where what's there lays. Running mostly AM, sens a comfortable 7-8. Sunny but high 50's low 60's. Gotta suit up.
  13. The Big question in a lot of hunters mine is. Will it Leak ? If it leaks, just another dry sand machine. Now what it can do for the Relic hunters might be a better story. I'm a gonna wait.
  14. Coup!e days after a big blow, the Gulf tamed down and looks like a table. Air in the low 60's, not a cloud showing. Burfic conditions. Four of us wading today , 2 hunting the Nox 600, a guy with a AT Pro, I'm using my Tar. Man nobody hearing much even caps & tabs scarce. Most places we can wade out 20, 30 yards just waist deep. Trouble is further out the deader it becomes. Only areas I could come up with anything was in the soft trash area near shore. So I just worked along there about a ways and back. Other guys jumping in and out of promising areas and the ATPro just stayed working a big area over. We all called it quits at different times. I ended up high Dawg for the day, 3 coins for 36 cent. Next guy 12cents. It gets worse another of those big selling machines flooded out. That makes 7 of these I know of in last couple of seasons. And nobody knows anything about the Tarsacci. Deep trustworthy. Everyone knows about the leaky Lees but they keep selling them. Make any sense? The targets I did dig in the soft sand took 3 deep scoops to corner. A couple I gave up on, very deep and very trashy. I believe most of my targets were because of the Big coil.
  15. So I'm currently hunting a heavily sanded beach in Florida. This is my 3rd plus year Hunting the Tar. Mud and beach. Believe me, unless on the deeper targets, don't bet against it's target ID. Beach I'm hunting when I do find a target, it's a rusty cap or a tab. So now & than I get a target that's close to a quarter but the numbers are just a tad higher than bouncing a little lower. I know it's a Cap call it as such and it is. On this beach without fail. As far as calling a quarter, numbers hard in the low 20's, it's a quarter. Lead will trick me with a Good signal. Tabs, like Geeser said, are another matter. Especially the painted ones. But being right in the Gold zone and targets being few, I dig em. As most users know the Tar has great depth. Got a lot of hours on this machine land/sea with no issues. As against the most popular machine on the beach the ones that I know about, have All flooded out to a machine. So the Tar ain't perfect but NDT. (No down time). In my hands at least.
  16. So, where about is Tarsacci at on these new ideas? There's quite a basket of them to either mod the current machine or come out with a whole new concept. If anythings been announced, I missed it.
  17. See that's a big problem, being Kidnapped, Imprisoned, disappeared or even beheaded. "Oman is a Peaceful country" is what she said. Huh? So it's not Iran, Iraq, or the Stan. But , compare it to Hunting Central Park in New York. Feel safe about that? Ain't going there either. How about the guys who left St. Louis in 1849, less than $20 in their pouch, holes in their shoes. Chasing Gold in that Great Gold Rush. They had to dodge bandits, Indians, Card sharks, crooked guides, no water and on and on. The American Spirit. Not long after that, the dash to the Yukon. Harsh winters high prices, poor clothing. So what happened to Go big or stay at home ? Take a chance big guy. Or how lucky do you feel? Midalake might be right, about guys already over there. Hunting.
  18. I was working wet sand when some people walked by. Bringing up the rear, a young lady wearing a head cover. After the routine questions about the machine. I asked her what country she was from. Oman, a peaceful country in the Middle East she added. Here's where it gets interesting. In her country she doesn't need a machine. You can find Gold all over the place. Best place, Women's Restrooms. Than along the sidewalks, parking lots. Gold is inexpensive over there so it's lost all the time. she claims. Girl is going to college in Virginia, had no accent and spoke fluently. Looking at my finds pouch with 31 cents , I said maybe I ought to fly over there for a week to hunt. "That would be very expensive," she said. I'm thinking that might be the least of the problems.
  19. Like most of the country, temps in the 20's. Had some storm action, hopefully shifted some targets around. But at age 74 I got to use a little common sense about jumping in. I'm OK working the wet sand. Just before this storm I was working the wash in All Metal. Digging everything for awhile. Got this weakest of the weak signal. Took a couple scoops, minus numbers. So somewhere over a foot down the thinnest of tent pegs Not surprised. Ended up with a few rusty caps couple tabs, fishing spoon and a wopping 3 coins (pennies). On the bright side things got to get better. If it gets up to 29 today just might go on a stroll.
  20. Traffic on this beach has been slow this season to say the least. Seems like the only ones making fresh drops are in the picture. Other than that the Tarsacci is humming along and handling the salt very quietly. Had a little noise early in the month but a quick brush up on changing the salt count cured that. Running in All metal about 90% of the time.
  21. Welp, upere in PCB last few days we have gotten some really low,low Tides. Along with calm, fairly warm water getting wet been pretty nice. Thats the good news. Stepping into the water you can wade out about as far as you care to and only waist deep. Trouble is targets are scant at best. In about 6 hunts barely $3 in change, some 4-5 junky blings, a nice but small Stainless ring and yesterday a Stud Silver Ear ring (with extra lg fake stone) As sorry as it is, a big moral boost. Hey but the seas are calm, temps in the 70's so gotta go.
  22. So on my first hunt, walked out on the beach a little before eight am. Temps in the high 40's with a stiff wind from the north. Not nice, but the waves were down. I didn't go in but there were 2 guys already getting wet. I had about a half mile walk before my first coin. I mean nothing just 3 tabs. So I come up on a little wash maybe 30 yards long. Started hitting some targets. Actually a bonanza, 16 coins , junk ring, an earing for a $1.61. Talked to one of the waders, couldn't find Any hard bottom. Pickins out there were slim. Today going back to the wash , wade out in front of it. Oh, the dry sand is a Nightmare, they slabbed about 4 ft of fresh sand on it last February.
  23. Leaving this Monday for the Florida Gulf on a 3 month Campaign. Main gun the Tarsacci backed up with the Pirate Hunter Pro. When I left late last March, the Beaches were just finished being Heavily Sanded. The Low Tides last year were all during night time. This year I see their mostly during day light. So there's that and hopefully the sand has found some bottom. On a different topic, a friend told me he seen on the news that a $40,000 ring had been found by a Metal Detector hunter somewhere in Florida. Anyone hear about this?
