  1. I use the lobo coil, stock, and just picked up the small concentric. I should clarify...I use the Tejon alot, but pretty much always for relics. I did give it a go for prospecting once, due yo circumstances, and I go to all metal often just to cover ground quickly to look for iron infested spots. Yes, that ground balance is touchy.
  2. I LOVE the Tejon... for relic hunting. Gets way to noisy/wacky in hot ground when in all metal, for my liking. For that, I use the gb pro/ now the f19
  3. Phenominal fishing down there at roaring camp! The gold...lol, well I guess I suck man, cause I didnt get squat.
  4. Very cool! Im about 20 minutes from Jackson.
  5. Hey buddy,I had a good time and apreciate it, thanks. My favorite find is the coat button for a S.F. street car. Nice little nugs, and superb greenhouse! Soon we need to get you up to my old standby near my house, and swing the z....see what my vlf's left ya.
  6. Yeah woody, I dropped a pistol ball on the serpentine, and could barely pick it up on gb pro.
  7. I guess mxt. We always stayed at Robinsons glat before, but they picked french meadows this year to be closer to the areas we all head to .
  8. Woody , a group of us went down a few years back, and my buddy Paul got a pretty one, couple pennyweights. He was using gpx,but it was on top. Was on the cover of mining journal (one of Dons trips). Im usually detecting for other stuff, but ground is very hot in those serpentine areas, and tons of tradh targets.
  9. Damn, Id be happy with that hold! Wouldnt be to happy hauling out that load, lol.
  10. If so, anyone going to the outing July16-20 at Frenchmans lake? If your not a member, its only $40, pay up and come join us. Theres usually a group of us adventurers that group together, yall probably know some of them (Don Robinson, couple others)and hike into some canyons or diggins. Ive actually found some of my biggest pieces on these trips. Hope to see/meet some of ya!Ray
  11. Yeah buddy, I know them leg cramps...Ive suffered for years....feels like electricity shooting from the knee to the nads, and usually doesnt let up for about 15 minutes. Ive been drinking that cocunut water...taste like a$$..but works pretty good, and poppin magnesium/potassium/calcium pills. Again Condor, youre one tuff S.O.B.!!
  12. Honest to God Condor, you truly have my upmost respect. For those that dont know, the green valley trails (theres one on each side of the canyon) descend (or ascend, lol)over 1000 feet per mile. Ive only hiked it carrying vlf, food n water. But, down and back in a day, every time my legs cramp like a mofo....and Im in my late 40s, not 61, plus I roof all day, almost every day. So what Im trying to convey, YOU are a badass sir! Btw, did you pull out at the hotel site on the Alta side? If so, was there an anvil sitting on the wall? We dug it, was going to put it next to Joe Stieners grave, but to dang heavy.
  13. Dude, your a stud! I know that trail...actually hike the one below it (green valley) every year. Cant wait for the rest of the story!!
  14. Theres no relic hunters on this forum anyway, lol.
  15. Ok...yeah seemed a little strange, and sorry, but dont just outright trust an archie on a detecting forum. Probably fishing to bust someone .
  16. Are you planning on using it foe relics Cindy??
  17. Way to go man, very impressive!! Hard work and research =success.
