  19. Here ya go Hard Prospector. Arrests start for California suction dredge miners By David Smith dsmith@siskiyoudaily.com Posted May 12, 2015 at 9:02 AM Suction dredge miners are starting to choose time in the county jail over a citation for engaging in an activity still considered illegal by the state of California. Vacuum-powered dredging devices have made their way back to the state’s waters with an influx of miners who have interpreted a January court ruling as invalidating a state moratorium that has been in place since 2009. Accoring to attorney James Buchal, who represents mining groups and individual miners, the return to California has landed some miners in jail. He explained Monday that the miners have been approached by wardens from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and have been cited for suction dredging without a permit, which is still considered illegal by statute. According to Buchal, miners presented with a choice between a citation and going to jail have started choosing jail as a way to have their case heard before a judge. So far, he said, none of the miners he represents have made it to trial, with a number receiving notice to appear in court in the coming months. CDFW is awaiting the outcomes of a set of related cases before it decides whether or not it will keep or dismiss the moratorium.
  20. Hey John, California King...heres my son with one. They eat rattlers, so theyre cool.
  21. AMRA just added 2 claims in the Consumnes drainage. They have plans of adding more in Idaho, I believe. And Shannon has posted that he has areas he would like to claim, but lacks the funds. He said if someone wants to file them and allow member access, he will give them membership. TVanwho...well, depends how you interpet it. Going by judge Ochoa's ruling, yes. But dfg not issuing permits, and say they will cite. I know many guys are taking the yes answer, lol. Go to AMRA website for better info. Ray
  22. run into rattlers on almost a weekly basis..probably because I spend most my time in the low foothills, and they seem to be the most common species, followed by gopher then king snakes. Keep your eyes peeled buddy!
