  1. Yeah I agree....I dont think i would get as low as 1 either.... Its been my experience so far, even with pretty bad EMI, that just dropping it a bit has helped with the mono. That been said, the auto settings are great! Sometimes a tad noisy, but regular noise cancels do work.
  2. I think thats what the manual implies. They say "Generally, a Double‐D coil should only be used if noise cannot be managed by using a Mono coil with the Noise Cancel Procedure" and it (DD) should be used in areas of known high EMI or conductive ground" They way I read it, is that the mono should always be the first choice. Try auto, if quiet, try auto+, which they add has extra depth in low noise conditions. The manual goes on to say that manual sensitivity can be reduced either to control EMI or ground noise. So yes, I would drop sensitivity in mono first before putting on the DD if I can πŸ™‚
  3. The pup with the added coiltek feeding bowlsπŸ™‚ But yep...use the pup to find enough bones...sell bones, by new dog πŸ™‚
  4. Well I have both dogs.....The old dog I still love cos I got him first....But he is often a difficult dog to train!....He is tough to walk as he is so big. When I do walk him, he ends up hurting me 😞 Since getting the new dog, its been a revelation! He is just so easy to walk. He barks at bones and helps me find many....mainly small bones so far, but I think he can help sniff a few bigger ones! I have found that the new dog gets a bit over excited at times and does yap....when he does, I pet him and he calms down really quickly. The old dog is in the kennel for a while. When i need some help looking for huge bones, I will try taking him for a few walks again.... πŸ™‚
  5. Well. What a revelation these things are πŸ™‚ Wow. Pair beautifully to the 6000 and the audio seems clearer than the inbuilt speaker. Nice to have speakers below the ears. Could turn volume down on 6000 and get a nice smooth threshold. Nice and secure around neck. Forget valcro idea, dont need it. Minelab, if you are reading, get a deal going with Advantree stat! πŸ™‚
  6. Happy to air test the 6000 v 7000 on a 100g nugget....... If someone sends me one πŸ€ͺ PM for address πŸ™‚
  7. Awesome πŸ™‚ Thanks! Was it just a case of switching both to pairing mode?? Well done on the new patch!! Go get 'em!!
  8. I can say that the 6000 detects a tiny leadshot 100% better than the 7000 does πŸ™‚ How do I know?? because I detected one right near a hole I got gold out of with the 7000 and I know I swung the 7000 over it. I own and use both. Am I going to do air tests? Nope. I have better things to do with my detecting time and there are so many variables that they are often meaningless anyway πŸ˜‰ What I will do though is report back what I am finding with each detector in real detecting environments. The 7000 amazed me....Now the 6000 has taken the amazement to a whole different level. Its pinging bits I would never have thought possible....a 0.08g at 3-4 inches!...And it screamed like it was an ounce! Sure i would love to be detecting ounces every couple of days, but those types of nuggets are far and few between out my way....what the 6000 has already done is increased my gold v hour ratio....i am at about a gram an hour at the moment.....without pain. The GPZ19 will be chucked on and this will become my detector of choice when I think there is a likelyhood of larger and deeper bits hiding. For everything else, the 6000 is now my go to machine. If I detect a decent bit at good depth, i will swing the 7000 over it for a rear world comparison and vice versa πŸ™‚ If the 7000 detects it up to 40% deeper, so be it....
  9. Both bluetooth aptx-LL so cant see why not πŸ™‚ Will let you know saturday....
  10. Arrived in the post πŸ™‚ First impressions: Smaller than what they look like in pics. Light, very light. Fit snuggly around neck. Didnt fall off when I did a few practice bends πŸ™‚ Will try them on weekend with 6000....
  11. I learnt early on that lying is good in the gold game πŸ™‚ "getting any?" "nah, nothing...just a couple of small ones" "Where did you get them?" "Well you know when your heading out north about 6 km's and theres a track up on your left that goes to an old windmill with a broken fence near it?" "Yeah i know that spot" "Well its nowhere near there"..... Some of my spots, I literally have about 6 different ways in and out so people cant pick my tracks.... πŸ™‚
  12. A 2 ounce chicken Nugget....I'd take that too πŸ™‚
  13. Awesome. I bit the bullet and grabbed a pair too πŸ™‚ How do they feel on the neck?? Do they slide off if you bend over to pick up a 2 ounce nugget off your kitchen floor??? πŸ™‚
  14. Yeah that was my concern too....maybe velcro?? As Redz pointed out, running from pigs or dogs, I wouldnt want to have to stop to pick the thing up πŸ™‚
  15. Making mental note to avoid detecting in FNQ πŸ™‚ very much looking forward to seeing how they go. I was thinking maybe velcro on unit and on detecting shirt to make sure doesnt fall off???....Or maybe they are normally secure.
  16. Sorry Norvic, feels like we have hijacked your thread! Theres are a great idea! I have always been a fan of speakers under my ears and I have a pathological (almost neurotic) fear of wild dogs pouncing on my back, so have always avoided headphones! Looking forward to feeback to see how they go!
  17. Interesting morning chaining....4 little bits....they are getting smaller as i move down.... Love this machine. Easy to use, easy to swing. EMI certainly effects it when you crank the sensitivity up. Managed to stay about half way today. Still screams on these small bits, but much less erratic threshold. None of these were deep, but just down from these theres a patch of deep looking clay. The 19" will get put over that. Back tomorrow to chain the top part of the patch!
  18. Well it pinged a 0.61g at about 10 inches with sensitivity on 6, and it was a pull you up kinda signal. Dunno the answer...will experiment later πŸ™‚ Is it a gain sensitivity setting??? If its like the zed, it is still sensitive on lower settings, just stops extra noise. Steve might know....
  19. 100% will πŸ™‚ I plan on chaining it with the 6000, then chaining back over it with the GPZ19" πŸ™‚ That will be next weekend πŸ™‚
  20. Just to add, that the manual mentions increasing sensitivity until false signals occur when using the mono. From reading the manual, I still get the feeling that reducing the sensitivity with the mono to reduce the EMI would still punch deeper than the DD. I think.... πŸ™‚
  21. Multiple noise cancels....area is close to a telephone tower, so EMI inevitable... Havent tried to DD yet, I know it would work with the EMI, but wanted to see if you can tame the mono a bit and, yes, yes you can πŸ™‚ I think the DD would be last resort as the 11" is going to be deeper, even with sensitivity down a notch or 2....
  22. Found 4g today in a new patch, just away from an old patch πŸ™‚ The EMI was bad at times. I did find that clicking the sensitivity down to 5 stopped it and it still pings gold...Including a 0.08g at about 3 inches that screamed. Love this machine πŸ™‚
