Doc sells a compete carbon fiber shaft kit which is pretty nice and not terribly expensive. It includes 2 lower rods with the upper for $99.
Why didn't I think To "call Doc"........Thanks!

You've always had a knack for finding all the good stuff Mike........Thanks

Looking to find someone who is currently making a skid plate with knuckle protector for the SDC. Miner John lost all of his stock and not likely to be back in business anytime soon. Any info would be appreciated.........Thanks!

Trashy mining sites hiding good gold have been waiting for a new effective multi frequency detector that excels at discrimination......
Hello NOX 800

The Golden Nugget in Laughlin NV has the same Hand of Faith nugget on display in its security case as well. I was told from staff that no one is suppose to know which hotel has the real Hand of Faith but its still in company ownership.
It would appear deception is part of the security plan.

Really like staying at the Golden Nugget in Vegas just so I can go stare at that thing in the lobby show case. My wife says I look like a dog starring a big meaty bone.
Kind of a shame its not in Australia though for the sake of history, national pride and all. I suppose money talks no matter where you live in this world.

Wouldn't want to get punched by the fist wearing that ring!

This shouldn't be too long from now. I speculate we will see $2000 an ounce gold by 2020. We should be entering a period of economic recession, as we're long overdue, the market seems like it's just figuring this out over the last month. A lot of deep pockets will be moving equity into gold, or gold based ETFs as a security vehicle to carry them through.
As the takers out number the producers in our country, the price of gold can only go up. I'm afraid you may just be right

Beautiful winter weather, cheap gas, lots of hotels & restaurants ........Oh and still plenty of gold.
Yuma looks like a winner to me.

When gold finally hits $2000 (or more) an ounce, people will be shocked by the new deposits "suddenly discovered" by motivated mining companies. ICMJ had a good article on this topic last month too.

Bought mine this year, really like it.

Some guys have the luck! I'm glad for you and congrats........Rob

Most any detector could hit that nugget at 14" until you CONSIDER EXTREMELY HOT MINERALIED or ALKALI GROUND! In these conditions, the SDC2300 still has most machines beat. Should have switched (from my TDI) to this detector several years ago.

i know of a guy who last year detected a 4.5 ounce speci. (in the desert) 30 miles outside the nearest mining district. There were a couple old prospect holes in the vicinity but nothing on any map or historical record. He was Jeep'n & prospecting around and decided to stop and check out this spot where float was coming down the side of a steep hill.

All of the well known areas past 30 years have been hammered in NV (among other places). If I was you I'd heard enough to take a chance. Alaska is far, Nevada/Utah........not really

I performed "Facebook suicide" 8 years ago and haven't looked back........had enough of the negative drivel.

Also consider beach detecting......its the only gold being replenished "annually"

Mix things up a bit by getting a drywasher and start shoveling. A puffer will damn near catch everything. Use your detector to go over your tailings most of my nuggets have come from the header piles. Much more fine gold in the desert placers then coarse or nuggets. A few grams a day , in the tray at the end of the day can sure re-set enthusiasm.
-
That districts been hammered by 30+ years of detector technology yet she keeps put'n out.....been pretty good to me too!

Nice weekend pay Mike, strong work!

I'm sure Steve and Gerry (Gerry's detectors) will chime in here when they see your post
'19 Misadventures In Baja

Been going to Baja for several decades, caught lots of big fish and got some good gold too. For those considering a trip to MX without much experience here's something to always keep in mind; don't take anything down there you can't afford to loose.
