  1. started detecting april 15, 2019 .. took until today august 15, 2021 .. nickel beach gave up my 100th ring .. the little iron, once gold plated ring in the upper right .. a few gold .. a few silvers .. a few very old .. a few modern .. a few diamonds .. and notice the star on the ruby .. that was a special find
  2. I still have it but this site won't allow me to share it .. not one of the accepted file types
  3. Chuck, do y'all eat those snake or use the skins .. I once caught an 8 foot black rat snake after being told by biologists that they didn't live where I was seeing this one .. we have copperheads and eastern diamondbacks here, but I've never seen one .. many call the common water snakes, cottonmouths .. but they aren't.
  4. after I get to thinking about it .. it took me three tries to get it to upload .. then on the third try it went smoothly .. I had forgotten about that .. not sure why that was or if that has anything to do with your situation
  5. I had no problems changing to the v2.77 .. I have wired waterproof headset .. maybe that makes a difference, but I don't know .. IMO the v2.77 is the better of the two .. at least it makes the machine run like I believe it should, getting the most from under the coil .. I was really unimpressed when I bought the simplex with the v2.78, there seemed to be a 'wall' (I don't know how else to describe it) which wouldn't allow the machine to detect anything deeper, or at least report anything deeper .. and I was thinking of selling it, until I made the switch .. now I kind of like it for what I use it for.
  6. The places where the EMI is to much for the T2+ .. the EMI is coming from wires in the ground or railroad tracks depending on the site .. the wifi and camera/powerline emi I have always been able to hunt through just by turning the machine down a bit... the T2se however can turn on the DST and hunt these places, not as deep as I know the targets go to, but still they can be hunted .. I almost always hunt in all metal .. when I bought the simplex it came with the v2.78 and had a definite 'wall' as to depth .. it went no deeper than the machine could give a good TID .. I uploaded to the V2.77 which allows a bunch more depth .. still no where near as deep as the T2 .. unless I'm clad shooting, I pay little attention to the TIDs.
  7. Thanks Guys .. my first detector was a T2+ package .. which was an upgrade from what I was thinking of starting out with .. but I won on a scratch off ticket which paid for that package .. I really enjoy that machine, but there are places where the emi won't allow me to hunt .. everything else has been paid for by finds .. I have a T2se with the stock coil, the 5 inch coil, a nel sharpshooter (which is usually on the machine), and a 13 inch ultimate .. a pair of GG platinum headphones .. I bought a simplex+ to use in the water .. which needed a carbon lower shaft and the sp22 coil, and a set of wired waterproof notka headphones .. it came with the v2.78 which I didn't care for and have now uploaded the v2.77 .. this is now a fairly decent water machine .. I use a ckg 'tank' model scoop .. just won a 340 vanquish .. tekpoint pinpointer. I hunt the southern teir and fingerlakes in NY .. I started out mostly searching for rings .. but have been finding many old coins .. just started this past month or so in the water which I enjoy much more than land hunting .. my oldest coin is a 1834 large cent, which was one of my goals for this year .. the other goal being a 1700s coin, yet to be dug .. I will post some photos as they come
  8. new to the forum .. three years detecting .. still just a learner
  9. I just bought one along with the sp22 coil ... the carbon fiber shaft is well worth the $35 ... I bought the simplex+ basically to use in the water and the stock lower shaft (the noodle) and the fins of the stock coil would be better suited for canoeing than detecting .. it is a whole new beast now. ... the shaft is made, or at least sold by Notka macro
