New Detector Tech??
californiagold replied to Ringmoney's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Probably by time new technology is created to achieve raw depth with a detector, we will all be too old and broken down to dig that far. or environmental laws will not let anybody dig anything by then. so one day when this all comes to pass we can give each other coordinates to come check out the one pound nugget that we detected with our new tech detectors that we can hear or see the guaranteed gold signature at 15 feet but are no longer allowed to dig. we can all come here to share. Steve can call his site detector prospector and coordinates. Good luck -
14" elite has been good for me. if you find a patch that you can run in sens xtra along with the elite coils 14" and smaller it is amazing on how small of gold you can pick up. good luck

Better watch it paul, she will get your gold racer next. haha

Hello Finally the big rains and snows are slowing down, so my partner and I decided to hit the hills. we tried a patch of ground in the thick manzanita between 2 sets of old hillside diggings. we were able to hit our own patch. Awhile back I let my partner use my Gold Racer and I havent been able to get her to give it back. ive been using the Racer 2 which is also a great gold detector. today we made a bet who could find the most. if I won then I would get to use goldracer next time. But I lost to my partner on the gold racer with her skills again. So I will still be on the Racer2. Good luck

Holes are as good as geology to me. if I see great gold geology and no holes then I know my local area crawl on their bellies, get dropped off tresspassers havent been there cherry pickin the big stuff for their gold greed. Only some of my permission props turn out undetected. if they left holes then I spend the really really hard energy to fill them back in.

Minelab Gold Monster 1000 Product Brochure
californiagold replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Without threshold it would seem the all metal mode on this detector is like a discrimination mode without any target id discrimination. with all visual target id detectors that ive used before, I have found 1/4 of my gold with them without a visual id of the current target. they were found just from hearing that slight alteration in the threshold. Also im not sure if there is any new tech involved with this detector as far as depth on targets flat out or in hard mineralization. But if it was built in Australia and tested there maybe it will have some advantages on tough ground. If not it could turn out to be just another vlf as far as performance with some new design features. only time will tell. -
Is this person Joe For real or is this your multiple personalaty talking again. Remember what happend last time. No I dont want to go to Austrailia for you with a free plane ticket for the last time. But if your real hello Joe! watch that nursepaul he will take your pick to other states without permission. haha.

I would never quit detecting gold. I can go out and detect nails and have a great relaxing time. I never studied geology in a classroom so I am continuing to learn gold geology and what each place has to teach about how and why. So I will always enjoy that.. I also like to try new tech. and see some awesome wildthings out thing. I once saw a trophy class nurse paul over in Junction city. I have never sold any gold and probably never will. I might bury it and leave a list of clues to find it like Fenns treasure. then the new up and comers will have something to look for. but I dont see anything wrong with people that find gold and sell it. I Think that most people get into gold for a bit then realize how hard it is and they dont get rich quick so they quit. so I think anybody here is still into it no matter what the price because of enjoying the hunt for it or the rewards for selling it.

Never had a gmt. I tried different settings with the mineral switch on gb2 back in the day. But gold racers seems to be different to me. even on a higher setting it doesnt seem to lose any depth. the gb2 I did notice some loss. Maybe its just me.

Mine was awesome at sniffing out gold, it loves tiny stuff. it was great till I lost it to my partner(wife). she was a gb2 user and now she wont give it back. she loves the isat adjustment. maybe steve will rent me his.

Coiltek Mono Elite 18" & 14"
californiagold replied to californiagold's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
No I usually run a 14" and ive tried a 16" nuggetfinder. this 18" elite is the first 18" I ran. as soon as the creeks and rivers go down I can get to some deep areas that I want to try with the 18". Right now I only have shallow bedrock areas accessible. So it wouldnt do much good there. -
Detecting Gold Up New Foothill Drainage
californiagold replied to californiagold's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Also found Nursepauls old flip flops and Harmonica that he left next to a ponderosa back in 1800's -
Hello Somehow it was not Raining today, So I headed to the hills for what Seemed like a once in a lifetime detecting trip. I decided to try some hillside diggins up a fork of a winter run creek. But the Fork now has a north fork , and a east fork of that then a west fork, up past the south fork of the new fork. did you get all that. pretty much was water running everywhere. Found a few pieces, had a lot of fun and came home wetter then a bird dog from fighting thru the brush. 1.3 dwt my partner found a few also with Gold Racer. Also a picture of some pieces from couple weeks ago found with Racer2

New Minelab Gold Monster 1000
californiagold replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Ok Steve when you get your hands on one. it would be great to see a shootout between new minelab monster, Gb 2, Gold Racer, and new Fisher gold detector when they are all available. What is a the 1000 in the name of the minelab for? 1000 bucks, 1000 cc, 1000 sweeps an hour?
