  1. Probably by time new technology is created to achieve raw depth with a  detector, we will all be too old and broken down to dig that far. or environmental laws will not let anybody dig anything by then. so one day when this all comes to pass we can give each other coordinates to come check out the one pound nugget that we detected with our new tech detectors that we can hear or see the guaranteed  gold signature at 15 feet but are no longer allowed to dig. we can all come here to share. Steve can call his site detector prospector and coordinates. Good luck

  2. Holes are as good as geology to me. if I see great gold geology and no holes then I know my local area crawl on their bellies, get dropped off tresspassers havent been there cherry pickin the big stuff for their gold greed. Only some of my permission props turn out undetected. if they left holes then I spend the really really hard energy to fill them back in.

  3. Without threshold it would seem the all metal mode on this detector is like a discrimination mode without any target id discrimination. with all visual target id detectors that ive used before, I have found 1/4 of my gold with them without a visual id of the current target. they were found just from hearing that slight alteration in the threshold. Also im not sure if there is any new tech involved with this detector as far as depth on targets flat out or in hard mineralization.  But if it was built in Australia and tested there maybe it will have some advantages on tough ground. If not it could turn out to be just another vlf as far as performance with some new design features. only time will tell.

  5. I would never quit detecting gold. I can go out and detect nails and have a great relaxing time. I never studied geology in   a classroom so I am continuing to learn gold geology and what each place has to teach about how and why. So I will always enjoy that.. I also like to try new tech. and see some awesome wildthings out thing. I once saw a trophy class nurse paul over in Junction city.  I have never sold any gold and probably never will. I might bury it and leave a list of clues to find it like Fenns treasure. then the new up and comers will have something to look for. but I dont see anything wrong with people that find gold and sell it. I Think that most people get into gold for a bit then realize how hard it is and they dont get rich quick so they quit. so I think anybody here is still into it no matter what the price because of enjoying the hunt for it or the rewards for selling it.

  6. No I usually run a 14" and ive tried a 16" nuggetfinder. this 18" elite is the first 18" I ran. as soon as the creeks and rivers go down I can get to some deep areas that I want to try with the 18". Right now I only have shallow bedrock areas accessible.  So it wouldnt do much good there.
