  1. I would also like to see a racer 2 plus at 56khz. with the features it would be a nice detector. As far as isat, it has been a game changer for going thru alot of hot ground that I had trouble with past detectors in all metal that just kept having threshold blanking. the places that I find gold there now is probably the places that past detectors blanked out.
  2. in the video I mentioned the gold I found was about 6-7 inches deep, but afterwards I stuck the 14" elite in the big hole and it only stuck out 4". the other hole ended up being 9 inches also. also the hill had a group of pockets in a line on a couple different veins that are long eroded away. the old timers found a couple of the pockets half way up, but ive been tracing atleast 1 more higher on the hill that could still be in place. I tried a few test holes where the colors led me, but no pocket yet. but it is throwing some very nice gold. the pieces I found yesterday are found like that often there, where the vein pinched and formed only one or a few pieces at one place. sometimes you just find one nice rough piece right where it was made and that's it. a lot of them I have found there haven't even migrated for they are on a flat. the ground is very deep in most places and some day I will be looking for a good 7000 operator to assist in the search for the deep leads. my great grandfather according to his journal found a few good rich pockets and somewhere in the many many acres is a draw that they called potato patch. with an old channel out back, im sure that's where the potatoes was found.
  3. Hello, I made it out yesterday afternoon for awhile with my female gold slayin partner. We went to a place that we have found ounces of gold from pockets thru the years. I wanted to try my 14" coiltek elite out on the patch. I also convinced my partner to give my Gold racer a try. I think I mentioned on my video that I never detected there before with a pi detector; but actually I have with a few other coils. But I never tried the elites there yet. My partner ended up getting a small specimen and a nice .7 dwt piece wedged in the bedrock crack. I ended up getting many many more good targets and a couple nice crystalline pieces with the 14 elite on my 5000. I ran a equivalent sized nuggetfinder there before but the elite just has amazing depth and brightens up faint targets. My partner really enjoyed running the gold racer, she said it reminded her of the good old days with the gb 2. Both the Gold racer and coiltek elite coils are nice technology to have these days. We ended up finding 2 dwt together. Today I made it out for a morning trip with Gold racer and found a couple micro pieces that was not really even worth a picture. it is amazing how tiny of gold you can find with a Gold mak. Good luck
  4. Gold digger metal detectors in Jersey. (Ron) or colonial detectors also on east coast. Good luck
  5. Well good luck on your trip to Australia. Sounds like a good time. I hope you shoot some video for us.
  6. Are you doing anything with your Gold racer Paul? I can take it out for you and find some gold with it. kinda show it what gold looks like. lol

  8. Hello I started my vacation today so I thought I would get out to do some more detecting with Gold Mak. I headed back out to the old channel area and decided I would just mess around at a spot that I detected a year or so ago with original Fors gold. I ran Gold Mak today in all metal with sensitivity between 71-75. and some isat to keep the threshold steady. It was amazing how many tiny targets are still there. Including lots of birdshot and some gold. Gold mak is definitely a bedrock working expert. ended up with 11 pieces for .4 dwt. Not alot of gold weight, but it was alot of fun. I did some videos aswell. I will have to add them to the post Good luck
  9. Hello I made it back out again today but with a different strategy. Use a gpx 5000 armed with 2 new high tech coils from Coiltek instead of a vlf detector. Actually most of the area has already been grided with the vlf detectors. So it was time to see what the Coiltek coils could find. I already have been running the Coiltek mono elite 14" since last spring with great success. but now I have the 18" mono elite to add some more to the 5000 arsenal I tried the new 18" first today. It was a particularly bad emi day to start. so I ran the 5000 in finegold mode with some minor adjustments. Despite the emi, The 18" did a good job finding deeper targets. Managed to find 3 pieces of yellow with it. It gets amazing depth and once the emi settled down it ran very smooth in sens xtra. For a big coil it handles the mineralization very well. the smallest that I found was .3 gram. which seems to be on target with some results from Oz. It is only 10 grams heavier then the 14" mono elite. But you cant even notice. it is well balanced and is not nose heavy. And this is without a harness and running a gold screamer in the side pouch of box cover. All in all a great coil for sheer depth on smaller and bigger targets. Next was the 14" mono elite to see what it could get in the same grid. it is very good at finding tiny targets deep. I ran it in sens xtra with some tweaking. I managed to pull up 3 more with it. The smallest was .1 gram. the 14" is amazing aswell on how deep that it finds small targets. Both coils together brought in 1.5 dwt for the trip. I have tried other coils on the 5000 from Coiltek blitz coils to nuggetfinder 14" and 16". But it is very easy to see in person that something is going on inside the new Elite series that is making a real difference. Not just smoke and mirrors. It will interesting to revisit some patches from the past that produced muti ounces, to see what the new 18" elite can dig up. I will be heading to them soon. Good luck and Happy easter I did a couple videos that I will post aswell. Only bad thing was I didnt bring my speaker with me. Only had the phones. So you cant really hear the detecting. Just faintly from my headphones.
  10. Somebody told me that most dentist dont use gold anymore. Im not sure. I have a couple porcelain ones. not as pretty.
  11. I colored it Red to look a Easter egg. No it is some limonite and a little bit of quartz still attached. Alot of pocket gold or reef gold sometimes still has some mineralization attached. I keep a lookout for minerals like that to find pockety areas.
  12. Hello, It is good friday unless you had to go to the dentist like me. My appointment wasn't till early afternoon, so I had a couple hours to go walking up a canyon near the old channel workings. I seen pocket gold geology as soon as I made it up the canyon a short ways. there is areas out there where the old timers found a few pockets and once in a while you can still find a pocket. but apparently they didnt know I was coming with my detector 140 years later because they took all the good ones. I did find some scraps they forgot. 6 pieces in 3 small areas. 2.8 dwt before my dentist appointment. luckily at the dentist everything was good. I took along the Fors plus as my bird dog to sniff out those golden birds. Fors plus did a good job and really does well in that kinda geology. Happy Easter
  13. Nice job Lunk. Happy Bday and hope you find many many more
  14. Hey Dale . What brand of pick are you swinging in your video? I need a big swinger for my pi detecting and . I was going to buy a supersede. but Iike that one better. thanks. once again great movie and hope to see more of your mountain goat videos.
  15. Thanks Tremain, Dale, and Dave. Your videos are always the best. You guys are the real deal. Best of luck this prospecting season. Hope to see many more videos soon
  16. Here is a couple. one that is in better shape says douglas axe manufacturing. William b. Hunt on it. not sure if you can see it in the pic very good. lot easier with an eye loop.
  17. I also found a shingle hatchet last weekend. My 4th one. All are rusty except one from a tailing pile. so it never rusted much. also it went thru 2 fires in the past. it has douglas axe manufacturing and william hunt stamped on it. I have a couple regular wood axes also. Nice picture dancer
  18. Thanks steve for the comparison. Where does Fors plus with 10x5 coil fit in the weight category. I never weighed mine.
  19. Alex, if I rember right that you regularly detect in siskiyou county. going to rye patch might be fun, but there is still alot of gold up in siskiyou. my ol partner works for the state, lives up there and she still finds over 15-20 ozs a year. Of coarse she has alot of experience. best dann blonde detectorist I ever seen. But seriously you just have to do some research and walking around to find some good spots. I have some ranches that I can go on up there that still have alot of gold left. good luck to you and your gpx.
