I for one can't wait until I can get my hands on a 6000.

Light and compact and it will definitly be an upgrade in detection ability over the 5000 as minelab has never let me down in this department...

I sold my wife Amber's 5000 in December before the 5000 price dropped she can't wait until its released and the wetseason is over!

Yeah Minelab has delivered on every product that has been released in I dont know how long.  I want one for sure.

  2. I have used a Camelbak military HAWG for the past 3 years and its bullet proof.  3 litre bladder and heaps of room I would say one of the best day packs on the market.  It is a heavy pack for its size but it is made of heavy duty material and huges zips, yet to have one fail.  And they are all clam shell opening so you can get to contents without digging.

  3. I used the 10X all last season partly because it was new and the wet season made a lot of grass so partly because of necessity.  But I found I could get it to run quite when I needed to when patch hunting but also could make it as noisy as and produce gold just about every where I poked the thing.  It sure does not like General/Difficult but HY/Difficult no dramas.  But towards the end of the season running that thing in manual ground balance and controlling the coil in normal was getting gold I believe no other machine or coil combo would even come close to touching even the GPZ14.

  4. I know this goes against all info on the Z but have been running the X coils in Manual ground balance using the track button and pumping the coil up and down like the old X and has made using normal a little more achievable.  As using the 10 inch in normal has given some amazing results with lots of smaller but deep gold.

  5. Yeah I have used the 10 xcoil pretty much the entire season.  Amazing coil all be it quite noisy and touch sensitive but able to use it in Normal and Manual ground balance the depth this thing can get sub grammers is almost beyond belief and just its size to be able to get places basically make the SDC redundant.  Cannot imagine the 10 coming off unless on open ground or fires burn out some grass.

  6. Yeah JP I understand all of that as do most of us but now over 4 years on Minelab have left us out in the cold.  They have had the time to make the Equinox and 3 coils for it havent they?  On Minelabs part this make smart money sense as they sold crate loads of them, dont get me wrong I love my nox but I will be cutting the plug off my GPZ14 in the next week or so and making patch leads as I need a smaller coil and Minelab wont make one simple.  Giving a long list of technical reasons why they havent done so yet are basically just excuses in my opinion, especially when they introduced the Z, it was marketed with a future smaller coil.

  7. If you can plug an after market coil into a GPX and not void warranty why not the GPZ.  Minelab made the GPX detectors for many years and did not develop coil technology, the aftermarket boys did.  If Minelab dont want to make coils for the GPZ then let the aftermarket boys get the chips and make them simple.  I realise its a difficult area to run a viable business but costumers are always right.

I don't think there is a term for the syndrome you got from your visit to North Queensland.?
