Train the dog to dig the holes for you and you can move onto the next target.

My first detector was a Garrett A2B Ground Hog, found two small nuggs in the first month and then went for over 12 months before I started to find gold on a regular basis. Back then it was quite a steep learning curve to sort out your detector.

I started out in the 1980's , first machine a Garret ground Hog and then new machines up until 2015 when age and health forced me to stop. I come on site each day to help relive the memories, don't stop until you are forced to, I wish at times that I had persevered longer. I hired a sdc2300 a short time ago and went out with one of my boys for a few days but that will be the last time.

Don't look at the total cost, just look at the increase this won't seem so high.
You will have years ahead when you may be too old for detecting ,go while you are able.

I made all my pick heads from a plow disc, for the handle I got some broken pool cues from the local tavern , they made the best handles ever.

I had one when they first came out, I used it with the standard 11in mono in West Australia and it found lots of gold from 1/2 gm up. If you walk over gold it will hear it.
