  1. put the rock in a dolly-pot and break into small bits. a terrible thing to do in this humble souls opinion! fred
  2. I always follow the manufacturer’s instructions...
  3. Thank you, JR; for you patience and forbearance with my questions... I never use descrimination when prospecting...certainly would not in OZ!!!!! fred
  4. Thanks JR; I don't mean to be obtuse or beat a dead horse... I have read that the Detech DD works very well to discriminate iron... Does it really work that well? I have had several MINELAB PI's including the 5000 and would not trust the discrimination on a bad bet! Minelad's dd coils could not be relied at all in that respect...in my very, very, un-humble opinion fred
  5. only God and fortune tellers know what Minelab is thinking or why!
  6. JR that is no doubt true. However, the tone of the statement seems to indicate a much better discrimination than the stock coils.... It could be that I have become very cynical of much advertising, I would rather get the truth from users. inquiring minds want to know, ya know fred
  7. Between ferrous and nonferrous discrimination....I asked about this in another post... almost no response, I have my doubts...if true he should be selling out! Fred
  8. Plenty of drug junk in the parks and dry areas. Not so much in the wet sand... I don’t think smoking drugs and injecting crap is a swimming activity. fred
  9. I agree Steve...I was a hunter and killer in my youth for meat and just for the lust of killing. I am sorry for that and happy to have evolved a very little bit... I had a yellow Lab once. Some dickhead shot her-Broke my heart then and still...no more dogs for me!
  10. Save that story until little C is 25 or so and you learn what he did when you weren’t looking! Part of detecting fun has always been the trip in time. fred
  11. melancholy, a little sad but too true-at least physically... I would not relieve all those mistakes again! fred
  12. Thanks Steve I was wondering what was going on.. I just figured it was some how my fault... fred
  13. I hope I can still walk and talk when all these dreams come together! fred
  14. Why not row over...it looks close on my map! just teasing...if you can't go slow on your own, get some hobbles or walk backward-that will slow you down a bunch. My free try it, you will like QED is not in the mail....YET! fred
  15. Really, does that take age...I have always had to plug one ear to keep things rattling around until they stick...somewhere! JW's experience seem to answer the question by experience...not theory.
  16. There is a difference between water-proof, water-resistant/rain-proof...surely the maker gives some guidance.... fred
  17. very nice nugget! paying attention is always good... fred
  18. No worries Simon like the geography and astronomy I learned, my information is outdated.. As an example,.2010 on tour with Mark Hyde a customer had a detector go bad. Then another went bad, these were not stock coils. He wanted to use his coils but Marks machine. Mark would not let him use that coil again... so, like great white attacks it can happen. Also, when you send the machine in they generally want the coil too... I have never had problems with NF, or Coiltek
  19. Apparently, I am outdated...what are the Coils made by Minelab called? Phrunt, I never said it was likely. But non-stock coils on a machine with a warrenty can/do and will create problems-no matter how rare. I realize there are many new coils available but I will maintain that no beginner needs to buy extra coils until they have learned their new machine. However, if buying more coils is what he wants-buy, buy, buy...the dealers will love it. They certainly got plenty of my money. And I found gold with every coil I ever bought. Did I need them, no...but, I did want them, so, I got them! just my opinion fred
