Jp’s Audio Visual Gold Thread
fredmason replied to Jonathan Porter's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
An amazing range of reactions to that audio clip...what is clear as a bell to one is barely audible to another.... more please and thank you fred -
I can't keep quiet...it is stupid to advocate shooting some one for trespass and any other reason; except self-defense. fred

Jp’s Audio Visual Gold Thread

the signal is quite clear at about 5 seconds ...if that is the signal I would dig! fred -
And stop thinking so much!

Mitchel what is happening in your head while nugget hunting? if you have some internal dialogue going you likely don’t hear the really faint signals. It is very difficult to stay focused... I know that when I get distracted by stuff I don’t do as well.... if I am not thinking about gold I probably won’t find much... I don’t think all these opinions will help much, they seem to irritate you...only you can figure this out.... Trust your equipment...don’t doubt yourself...there are more nuggets waiting for you. fred

I think beach hunting lends itself to your style of hunting. You know the indicators at beach, and you go to those same beaches often. Gold hunting is way different! Your jack rabbit style does not work well in worked out patches, in my opinion. you don’t know what you miss beaching hunting....but, you could mark some beach that you detected, then hunt it as slowly and carefully as if nugget hunting, dig every thing....I will bet you are missing the faint stuff at the beach too. Not a perfect comparison but it may help... on the other hand, who am I? fred

These are the things that part time, occasional prospectors have a difficult time learning...your experience is the key! One of the things I loved about my Tours in Oz was that I became one with my detector...so much easier than retraining myself every trip. fred

Thanks, Jonathan nice tiny gold in your areas...are the gold baring areas hot, average or mild? Fred
-
Excellent post, Jonathan! It is great that you responded with a positive and real explanation of that spot...great experience and memories when times were lean. thanks fred

I doubt many Lead Singers want to be. Cut up! teasing fred

Mitchel knows the sound and appearance of Franconia, Gold Basins and small irons. If you have come to recognize your Usual Hotrocks for your area, anything different bares checking...just a hint. Btw once they hit the dirt the are Meteorites... fred
-
Very nice, Condor I was wondering where you were with that setup. great result! fred
-
Chet you give true meaning to patience and diligence! no meteorite, so you were probably away from the strewn field. very inspiring fred

The written word is harsh, at best! I try very much to be gentle and kind...most of the time. I get itJw... fred

Jonathan, I got your post...the X is supposed to find what other coils missed. In My friend, Mitchel’s case all he found was junk...that was missed. Does that mean anything...yes, it means he has not found that invisible gold that is all over NZ and OZ...but, he will! fred

For sure, Art! The contrast takes the iron to a higher plane! Fred

I am not sure what Witchery Paul uses, but he does get the invites...I am too shy to ask...or afraid of rejection....or what ever. If you have not been to the Pilbra/Nullagine or the Kimberlys ....well, they are spectacular...in my opinion. good luck and have fun I love Oz fred -

Minelab Gt 16000 Fair Market Value?
fredmason replied to mh9162013's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
That machine is 30 years old, VLF and made for nugget hunting. I would not pay more than 50 bucks..and only after testing it. you can buy many detectors for 200 plus that are new. fred
