  1. I wear wrangler cargo pants...I find the fit and various pockets suit my needs most of the time...they have a rise similar to levis and that is comfortable for me-because I am not as stud-ly as some... I donot like the crouch hanging to my knees... plus the wranglers are only about 20 bucks at wal-mart. When the weather is freezing cold I wear my light-weight REI woolies under them. fred
  2. Your nuggets remind of my first oz of detected gold...there were over 500 bits and one of them was about 1/2 oz...many of those 500 would only weigh on my balance beam powder scale that will weigh to a 1/10 grain. That GB and mostly the GB2 were hot machines...fond memories-I may have to get another gb2 for kicks and giggles... fred
  3. Rouseabout, all that Steve says is wise and true...let me add to his wisdom if I can. Many long years ago I wanted a detector for nugget hunting...I fully expected to be rich in short order...well, I still ain't rich in gold...so, I borrowed money from my Dad and got a garret deepseeker rather than the groundhog (I did not listen to others or the heed the available information)...my first mistake was the detector, all the others followed which I won't enumerate... My point is attend some meetings, try a few detectors if you can, determine your main and secondary detecting interests and take a babysteps rather than using the Fred Method-that would be;jump in deep and swim like H#$@... fred
  4. Steve; free at last... like being retired-no boss and no one to be "nice" to-just the truth as you see it. Thanks, I am always a "fan" of yours fred
