I've known Retta for quite a few yrs., Darren later on. Retta was such a hoot and her flashy jewelry always gave her away.  She was never short on words but in reality, she knew more about Prospecting than most.

So sorry to hear, I'm kind of knumb and confused 😕

I remember the first time (only time) that I met her, it was at the same time and place that I met you... the only thing louder than her hair coming down the hall towards us was the guy in the front row screaming questions up at the guy giving a presentation on his treasure hunting... I leaned over and whispered to Doc, "Who's the loud guy over there?" oh... it was you Gerry, I forgot about that.. LOL 😜 (I'm just playing Gerry, we're kindred spirits, my filter count is low as well, according to my boss).

I'm sure not dogging her hair... I have the same chunky dark under blond look and whatever she was drinking,  I want some of that cus she was SMOKIN hot for 73.. 🙂

I feel sad for them and their whole family.  It also Pisses Me Off.

Steve, I don't know if you will allow this, But if you or anyone can post any and all photos of the suspect Here or somewhere other than Facebook ( I have never trusted Facebook ) it would be helpful for the Prospecting Community to keep an eye out for this guy.

Also, if there are any items known to have been stolen please post those items, they may very well show up for sale or in the field and could lead to an arrest.

Photo is in my post on page one, nothing has been identified as stolen, if you don't like Fakebook, most of us do not, then keep an eye on the MCSO web page for more info or here where I assume any news that matters may be posted.

  3. Along the lines of the photo and remembering them smiling or her busting her ass dragging a huge Keene across Gold Basin (link below), I have that 190 and it’s not light, you go girl! 👍 Let’s also learn from what happened, let’s keep our mouths shut about what we do, where we do it, when we do it, and what we recover… I stopped posting my recoveries years ago, even in forums…. Owning a store would make it impossible to keep quiet I reckon.

Let’s also smile and learn from one of Darren’s lessons he taught us, don’t mail 10 pounds of mercury and shut down a US post office for a week when it leaks and as a result receive an almost quarter million dollar (seems excessive) fine.. D’OH!!!! Link below. 🤦‍♀️

Retort, what retort (my hands behind my back). 😇 You’d be amazed how many closet retorters there are here in Gold Basin/ Lost Basin.

  4. Doc Shows His True Colors Yet Again... Doing What Doc Does Best In A Crisis...

He won't post anything about it here (he's not that kind of guy) and though he and I have talked about this situation, I had no idea he made this post either, it's on the Facebook page discussing the Gold Lady and her partner's murder in Kingman, well done Doc, you're a good man... (link below picture). There's a special place in heaven for you when the time comes Doc, I'm proud to be able to call you a friend.

That is likely going to be a deadly patch hunting set-up.

That size has always been awesome for me in the Evo for GPX, I have found most of my gold with that size/shape so am looking forward to it. Sounds like a new wiring config as well, something he's calling DOD but no idea what it means... more to come later this year. He did confirm again it was a 17x13 so that's awesome......

  6. I heard it from a little Aussie birdie that Rohan (Nugget Finder) is coming out with a second coil for our 7000's. A 17", possibly elliptical and the birdie is a good source as he's already put money down on it at Coiltek (a dealer in Vic).

As of 2 weeks ago, Rohan stated that the 17 release is imminent, he was wrapping up development on it and he was expecting 3-4 weeks so should be happening in the next couple of weeks. Coils for the 6000 should be about 3 weeks away.

If Minelab won't continue software updates or development for the Z, it's nice to see Rohan is, thank you Rohan, you're awesome, my name's already on the list if it's an ellip.

Forgive if already posted, I don't come on much.

Go, or you’ll regret it. At most you are talking a few hundred dollars, if you are pulling a huge trailer.

Steve's right, there are no armored cars at a funeral, don't cancel your dreams due to stupid decisions in D.C., just modify how you make the dreams become reality.

PS: Your sig says you're in Utah, heck, you're almost here already.

Looks Good, been trying to reach Doc last couple days to put order in, but no one is answering or returning calls.

Everyone OK I Hope ?? Maybe just out on a trip ??

I spoke with Doc last night and again this morning, he's out of the office at the moment and recommends you order it on Ebay or his website (link below) or Amazon search Nugget Stalker on Amazon, or email him at docsdetecting@gmail.com. I can tell you that when I order from his site or the other methods above, it's shipped out within 24 hours and I get it within a similar time frame... hope that helps, just go to his site and order online.

You must up grade your gun license as it is over 21 years out of date but the rules are tighter now.😁 By the way how many drinks did you have before you signed it.   😊

No point after Howard's stunt, why bother and yea, the signature was from all the Bundy & Cokes I drank when he introduced said law... LOL (that was the license number before i masked it if I recall correctly).

  10. Some of us who lived in Australia in 1996 think of the phrase "Port Arthur" in a different, more negative tone, the tragedy that occurred, the loss of life and the complete gutting of our gun rights and theft of our weapons (buy back my A&S), so it's very nice to see ABC doing this report that allows Port Arthur to have some positive thoughts for those of us who've been negatively impacted, (ABC posted this video today). PS: Toth is my maiden name and I lived there (In Paradise Waters/Surfers Paradise, QLD) during the massacre, it's nice to see a more positive spin on Port Arthur, one day we'll have closure.

To answer your question is easier than you think.

It happened in Canada first off, so it started cooling as it came down to earth.

Ahhhh come on now.... prospecting in Canada's not so bad... granted our lay flat does get a little brittle and explode like a length of dynamite, and the ice does tend to get a tad thick but you learn to adapt, the levels are low, the natural riffles are showing and you can't beat the scenery. PS: And no, those were not appropriate winter gloves... LOL, those were my duty gloves, I was a member of the RCMP for a period of time in BC and didn't have proper gloves in the truck when I took this picture.

The other way to do it is to replace the alligator clips with an Anderson plug, most caravan people run an Anderson plug to provide current to the DCtoDC chargers on their rigs.

    JP

Great US source for Anderson plugs and other related leads... https://powerwerx.com/

They also make some great prebuilt Anderson adapter cables: https://powerwerx.com/adapter-extension-cables

    Sometimes the truth hurts.

This wash is right next to burn barrel and been the main detected wash since I've been coming down in mid 90s.  We've trained in it just about every session for 20 yrs.  Last year we totaled about 3 nuggets from there with 7s. I pulled 9 with a 6000 in 4 hrs.

HA!!!!!!! What did I tell you yesterday, get your ass back over to the burn barrel? I brought you luck. image.thumb.png.f246e8acee333a15d8382a52c40d1753.png

What can I say? Hard rain predicted for 40 days and 40 nights so I'm stuck inside so the forum better be ware. But I've started working on a plan. Anybody have a pair of Aardvarks?

Jump on a flight and head down to Vegas, rent a car and drive an hour and you'll be on the gold fields producing stuff like this...

Yes I know the link's been posted previously potential Karen's, no need to remind me.. simply expressing to Klunker that he's never far from gold, regardless of the weather. 😉

The only limiting factor is you and how much desire you have to succeed.

You guys talking of cactus..I think your referring to the Joshua Trees😀

Yes they probably are, but for the little value it added to the thread to correct them as well as the public shaming of them for their error, I didn't feel it was worth doing and served no value other than negative, thank you for doing it for me. Yes, at least in the photo Gerry is referring to seeing, which has Joshua Tree's that is probably what he meant..... See.. zero value add, but thank you none the less for your <fingers doing air quotes>valuable<fingers doing air quotes> contribution to the thread. 😜

  16. When using headphones, I use Sennheiser HD 598's, they're GREAT as they let a little bit of external audio come through (great for bears, cougars (no not the martini drinking ones), and snakes) while at the same time cutting out wind noise. Highly recommended. I use them either plugged in direct or through a Steel Phase SP01.
