  1. That would probably depend on the nature of the failure. It's my understanding that the add on pack will operate but not charge the main batteries and also does not kick in till the main are exhausted. That said, they're probably just using voltage sense on the main V+ line from the internal battery BMS to enable the external, any internal battery failure would drop V+ and I'd think the external pack would turn on, unless it does some sort of resistance measurement etc to ensure the main battery is actually dead, not damaged, you should be good.... but that's just my guess. These are brand new detectors so if you're main battery fails it should be going to Garrett for repair, not to the gold fields and potentially causing more damage buy inserting additional voltage into an unknown failure situation. You may want to send Garrett an email with that question if it's important to your situation but that's probably what they'd say.
  2. Goofus/claim salter's claims are up here in Lost Basin, literally less than 1/2 mile from where I live.. we always know when he and his collection of suckers, I mean patreon members are here in town, all the atv tracks and dirt roads are littered with empty water bottles and trash including what blows into our yards.
  3. Correct, I shared the link for camping purposes only, that's why I also included the rules page, not just the form.
  4. As well as near Vulture, there's a chunk of state trust land over in Little San Domingo as well, here's the application to get the permit (camping only, not for prospecting): https://asld.secure.force.com/recreationalpermit/ Here's a link to the parcel map site: http://gis.azland.gov/webapps/parcel/
  5. If you plan to move to AZ or be here often, you may want to look into the Roadrunner Prospecting Club, they have a lot of claims near there and up 17 that will help you get an idea where's good to detect near Phoenix.
  6. You're welcome... if you have time, shoot out east on 74 to 17 and go north to Black Canyon City for lunch (best pies for 100 miles - https://rockspringscafe.com/) then a bit further north to Bumble Bee area, very cool area. Sadly lots of .223 brass and shotgun trash as it's so close to Phoenix but still a neat place.
  7. While you're there, take a tour of the mine if it's open. https://www.vultureminetours.com/
  8. Here you go.... this should keep you busy. https://westernmininghistory.com/mine-county/arizona/maricopa/ and here's the San Domingo Placers:
  9. Vulture Mine out west of town, Little and Big Sandy (San Domingo) but they've been pounded for years.... go out to Vulture, lots of cool areas to play and history of huge nuggets. Head out of town to the west and turn left at the Safeway...... if you have an RV, there is lots of BLM camping out there near the Vulture Mine Placers.
  10. @Steve Herschbach @matt Great info and the SDC adapter included in the Pro-Sonic does help mitigate some of the higher cost (but it's still overpriced) but as someone who's used the Pro-Sonic, the included adapter and Nenad's adapter, the one in the Pro-Sonic kit is no where near the quality of Nenad's @PhaseTech. Also when you compare the two of them the Garrett's a much better wireless unit (again in my opinion) so if it were me, I'd not buy the Pro-Sonic because of the included adapter, instead buy Nenad's adapter and get the Garrett, you'll be much happier I'm sure. PS: Rob has both on his web site (he also sells them on eBay but buy direct and save him the fees): https://www.robsdetectors.com/sdc-adapter-headphone-lead/ https://www.robsdetectors.com/garrett-z-lynk-wireless-audio-kit/ Just my 2 cents.... and I just noticed this post is from a long time ago... disregard.. LOL Jen
  11. This is what I use, I have a few wired up in singles and one set as a double speaker set. @Doc has them. https://docsdetecting.com/product/docs-gold-screamer-brand-external-speaker/
  12. ..... and well earned reputation, which is now shot to many of their loyal customers....
  13. Wow, is there an echo in here? 😉 https://www.detectorprospector.com/forums/topic/19642-minelab-full-year-2022-report/?do=findComment&comment=209676
  14. Kind of hard to find nuggets with a vaporware/ imaginary detector.
