  1. I saved it as a pdf. It says 12V! ? I guess a battery could be modified.
  2. I downloaded the manual before it was removed. I should have saved the site. ?.
  3. But Nimh or AA batteries? Ugh!!!! So 1990’s. Is it not possible to equip this with modern battery technology? One of my biggest personal criticisms of the TDI was lack of power. I wonder if this suffers the same fate? However, this is fantastic news and a detector I have been waiting years to see. The manual mentions other coil options, but I suppose they require factory fitting. I certainly hope this detector is what it seems it might be....

  5. If you’re patient (ie have time before you need one) and search often, one can usually find an almost new Lortone on Craigslist for a fraction of the new price. Just like with most tools, quality costs more but is usually worth it. I agree with Steve.
  6. Makes me smile. Of course you’d avoid the trashy sites when you use the “always oversized” stock coil that comes with every White’s machine. Put on a 6X8” Detech or the 6”concentric and those machines go from good to outstanding. Of course the new mystery machine in the video may not have that opportunity just yet, but most certainly that MXT I saw could be outfitted with such. Just saying....
  7. It appears as if I will be able to get an excellent price on the G2+ instead. I am thankful they worked with me.
  8. The ebay seller (First Texas) just cancelled my transaction. I made an offer, they countered and I accepted. Today they cancelled with the reason of "out of stock." This is difficult to believe. Needless to say I am disappointed and hope they resolve this.
  9. Thanks Steve! I snagged up one of those ebay Teknetics. I've been wanting to try one for a while anyway, this was just the catalyst.
  10. "Convincing dealers to carry flagship models can be difficult. The inventory may sit on their shelf until someone like you comes along. So for small time shops carrying more low to mid level units makes more financial sense. But that doesn't really help you out!" Could this be because White's disallows most of its dealers from selling online, thus decreasing sale potential thus decreasing the amount of inventory a dealer is willing/able to carry? Is anyone else amazed that in 2017 online sales are still discouraged?
  11. Looks like I might consider buying another TDI next year then...
  12. 8" coil please. The 6X8" detech coil is my go-to coil on the MXT, for general metal detecting (not prospecting.) I wish White's made a coil like this.
  13. Chuck, I'm happy to hear this. I hope your new machine shines for you. White's DOES care!!
  14. That is soooo awesome. Made me smile. Very nicely done! :).
  15. Thank you. I trust White's did a great job and hope to be using it soon.
  16. Thank you. I trust White's did a great job and hope to be using it soon.
  17. My MXSport was returned today. It looks good. Unfortunately I am not really able to test it too well because of my injury. Thank you White's for following through.
  18. No worries. I'm sorry if I was harsh, too. I'm glad you're here and doubly glad to have a company like White's making wonderful detectors.
  19. Just so you know, I got ahold of White's and they had no record of receiving it. I had to go through a process whereby I proved that the shipping label was created and she was actually able to find it. I don't know if I appreciate your flippant attitude towards this but I knew there was something wrong! Whites, of course will make it right in the end.
  20. Well I called White's and had to leave a message with the repair department. I didn't get a call back. I'm beginning to wonder if this is going to go sour. I hope not!
  21. I wish I could have had the time off work to make the 90 minute trek, but didn't. I agree about the 6" coil; or better yet 8". The go-to coil on my XLT and IDX Pro was the royal 800;. It performed better than the 950 in my soils without too much depth loss.
  22. I wonder if this is true since I live in Oregon and it takes one day to ship to White's. My detector has been there two weeks tomorrow. Hopefully it returns soon, but I'm a bit worried because looking at White's repair status, my detector isn't even listed there. White's has always come through for me, but I guess I'm worried a bit.
  23. "If anyone has issues with a White's detector, we take care of them. That's the White's way of doing things. And we're only a phone call or email away, unlike some other companies..." This has been my experience with White's. I certainly hope, if there is an issue, it gets resolved to the benefit of White's and the consumer. I haven't had a chance to test my Sport because shortly after receiving it, I had a major orthopedic injury which will keep me down for about 6 months. I continue to attest that White's service is unmatched in almost any company in any industry, with which I have dealt. I have faith that any issue will have a quick remedy. Steve, I really appreciate your expertise as well. Thank you for an informative forum.
  24. My favorite coil for the MXT, so far (at least for non-prospecting uses) has been the 6X8 SEF. Maybe Detech will make some aftermarket coils that will function with the MX Sport, if White's does not. One can hope several coil options become available.
