In my opinion it would be very beneficial for covert night hunting.

Well said Bill. His digging buddy Phillip the Nox is a Guru with the 800 I'm curious to see if he will upgrade to Manticore.

First Impression: Steve’s Deus II Detector Rod

Great review and information Colonel D.Would you by chance use the XP 280 backpack to transport your detector in and if so does the new shaft fit comfortably? I have already posed this question to Steve via e.mail and of course he can build me one any length that I desire but it would be good to have the extra length or even longer and know that it will fit inside of the pack.Maybe you or some other forum members will know. Thanks D.B. -
Better yet Thomas Tusser.

Really! And what was that catchy phrase again, that P.T.Barnum made famous?

First Cache - And It's An Odd One
Doc Bach replied to Zincoln's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Sometimes those pesky little juvenile delenquents and miscreants can be useful.I had a similar experience back in 1977 at the local town park where I grew up here in Northern Ca. -
Now that's first class,very creative!

Deus 2 13x11" Coil First Impressions And Data

Damm son! You might want to change your handle to Sasquatch! -
I'm not embarrassed or ashamed to admit it but I sort of fall into the category of Dick Stouts post.If there was a metal detectors anonymous organization I would most likely join an go through the twelve step program. But that being said the Axiom is on my current wish list.I am strictly a relic and early coins hunter and unlike most have a passion for digging big and deep iron because sometimes it leads to far better things like bottles and so forth.

Coil Ears Finally Break Off...
Doc Bach replied to Erik Oostra's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Crank em down extra tight Blokes.Just before the warranty gives out. -
I usally access most of my relic sites by kayak, mountain bike and at some point e.bike therefore I like to carry two coils in my 280 pack just in case one has battery issues etc.Since there are no smaller coil options yet available for the D2 the13 seems to be the more practical choice. Like G L said they are the same price.

Those are some serious relics, outstanding condition! -
It was a pleasant surprise for a change to watch such an insightful video.Minelab Debby is very Knowledgeable, articulate and unpretentious.I had made up my mind not to jump on the Manticore band wagon but after watching I am starting to crawfish and lean the other direction.

That is very impressive! I would love to have the hard earned skills and knowledge that you gold prospectors possess in order to make such incredible finds. In my almost sixty years of detecting I have found only two nuggets and both of them were purely by accident.Anyway very nice indeed.
