There should be a Token collectors society in your state or a town or city nearby.Keep in mind that it's a serious hobby now and they have a professional grading system for them just like coinage.

I do not have a clue tbh. I was hoping someone would though. It has a place for a pin and I kept it thinking it was different. Yeah the token was a 2cent piece for 3 hours while dirty and pocketed lol 😆 pleasant surprise and more personal imo to the Wisconsin soldiers who garrisoned the place.
I hope that I am not being out of line here by offering you some friendly but clearly unsolicited advice. But be careful with the tokens that you find because even in dug condition some of the rare or unlisted ones can command and are easily sold for enough money to pay for your D2 with all of the current accessories.

You had a decent outing....The token looks to be in very good dug condition for me that's a day maker. The brass or possibly copper item with the nice patina in the last photo is intriguing any idea what it might be?

So that's it and that's all? Or will there be more to come? At any rate I'm glad that I held on to my deus 1 with the HF eliptical and the Nox 800 wit the COILTEK 10X5!

I don’t think anything new would interest me other than a small elliptical coil. When can we expect to find out what the big hubbub is all about?
Good question! There was no mention of it at the big rally in Italy unless I missed it? So maybe a long wait until this fall at Detectival? Don't mind me I'm a little bit cynical and being a Smart A$$!

I have a D2 with bone phones. For reasons not worth going into here, I am moving on from the D2 and am going to the Legend.
Got it. Detectorpro Amphibian 11

Deus 2 with Bonephones seems to be the preferred choice of the professionals. Big investment but money well spent if you do not already own a D2.

You did very well longbow.I have seen a few Mercs that were laid on the train tracks but never a holed one before. That's a bit unusual but cool find. The Manticore is looking to be a very effective coin hunter.

4 foot deep hole can get pretty damn exciting on an early colonial settlement, even better, in a Civil War camp.
You got that right! Or a gold rush rush era camp or fur trade site or western stage stop or ghost town and the list goes on and on.Big iron etc often lead to even bigger surprises.

I see no reason existing Deus 1 coils couldn’t be made to work with the Deus 2 remote. If the Hoard Hunter, originally intended for the Deus 1 remote, will now work for only the Deus 2 remote, this suggests interchangeability that is inexplicably being held back. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to operate the old HF coils on the Deus 2?
Yes that would be nice Cipher,However they would be shooting themselves in the foot in terms of a ton of new coil sales you do make some good points though.

I for one don't feel that is an unreasonable hope and expectation. It would definetely knock it out of the park.

Very, very similar. Yours has heavier chain. Something that was once so universally common is now a treasure or junk. I like treasure. Thanks for posting.
Treasure for sure.

The hook is unusual in that the nose has an acorn shaped end. I'm sure it was used on a wagon somehow. Kind of big for a trace chain. I wouldn't be surprised if it came from South Carolina after the War with the rest of the family. It is definitely older than the house site.
Howdy JCR I'm not trying to cut in line so to speak and hijack your interesting post here but after reading your description about the chain and hook and looking a little closer I couldn't resist.I dug this very similar one some months ago it's not as early as yours IMO.Maybe 1870's or 80's?
It's really comforting to know that I am not the only iron head on this forum that packs this stuff home. Doc B

What problems do you anticipate??
More than likely the feds and the tax man. Then there are property owners and thieves even though no one with a lick of sense would keep such items at home.Their fifteen minutes of fame so to speak could cause a poo storm.

Thanks Doc,
There is a high probability of finding unusual old stuff in some spots here, however I feel it was cherry picked for the easy stuff a long time ago. There should be all kinds of silver coins here, and I have not found 1. It hasn't been picked over since then, most of the clad is from the late 70s to now. I found many wheats and Indian heads, even one large cent where the road to the hunting lodge was. Last year I dug parts of a 1907 Jamestown Exposition medal here.
The tent sites are closer to the hunting lodge that was here in the 1800s to about 2015. It became a campground in the 70s and was bought by a large concern about 4 years ago. There is a tremendous amount of iron and other trash where the house and lodge were, some good stuff may be masked.
I'm envious 350.The button caught my eye because of its patina and the fact that I have found a lot of variants. That said you have a lot of very nice finds there.

I use AF 5 on our beaches as I want to knock out any and all iron on tourist beaches….except along the treasure coast.
That's playing it smart C D. A lot of potential for killer iron relics/artifacts there.
