Different peoples and cultures have a vast difference of opinion of about what hard work actually is, enough said. But to be fair there is a flip side to that coin....When it comes down to brass tacks with xp quality is better than quantity.

Those Browns are ferocious predators and notorious for attacking and eating just about anything that they see and can catch.Would not be surprised if they had Rainbows in their stomachs. I have caught the sea run version in the Trinity River here in Northern California and their bellies were full of Salmon and Steelhead Smolts so many that they were regurgitating them.Anyway very nice fish!

Good point JCR, no pun intended. The obsidian from the local volcano where I find a lot of my Points,Blades,Scrapers,Drills and so forth, most commonly comes in different shades and grades of black.Ranging from a very fragile and glossy transparent type to a very dense and hard Jett black grade. .And then there is the more rare and desireable yet seldom seem grey and opaque variety, very similar to Colonel Dans exceptional piece.

Thanks 350! So just to clarify I was not trying to be condescending to our fellow member. However i was looking for a response and translation from the poster or one of our more savvy members. So thanks and mission accomplished. -
Wise decision all around and a good purchase.Judging bye the types of sites that you hunt, the D2 with the nine will not disappoint, IMHO.

Well said Bro! -
I just re-read your post. Whoops my mistake and good luck.

Take a look at XP the 240 might work but I would recommend the 280. Even though it is more pricey and a little heavier it is worth it in my opinion for the additional space and durability.Off hand without looking the inside dimensions sound correct.

Depends on a few diffirent factors. The weather is the main thing when I gets up over 105 degrees and there is not a whole lot of shaded areas to hunt then that gets a little rough.Same goes if it is cold and raining like a heffer pissin on a flat rock for hours at a time.Another thing is how motivated I am by the quality of finds I'm digging. One thing for certain is that I've learned the hard way to force myself to quit when I have reached the point of exhaustion. Because my digging becomes dangerously careless and we all know what can happen then. -

Because Jerry we need to leave those Historically significant items for the up and coming stuffy and overly zealous pompous Richards that they are Archeologist of the future. As well as for others to enjoy of course. -
Howdy back from Hooterville over in Mendocino County, and welcome to the forum! Always looking forward to hearing tales and seeing finds from the gold country.

I'd be willing to bet that you will find one soon enough. It's been my experience that the Barber halfs are tougher to come by?

During the winter months I make steelhead jerky in my smokehouse. And during the summer and fall months I do the same with ocean and river caught chinook salmon. Not politically correct to say but it's an old-time recipe called squaw candy.Other than that smoked oysters and sardines. -
I'd much rather pinpoint than pontificate.I'm not certain if it qualifies as such.... But nice prose mr.rose!

Those are the types of targets and finds that make a relic hunter as well as an early coin and token hunters mind run wild. The very kind that keep us motivated and chugging along and working to the point of exhaustion.Keep at it Cpt! Oh and I really like the piece with the diamond pattern. -
OUCH! That would suck big time!

No worries Rios Rato from the UK.Anyway yes I have them and use them often and i like them. They work very well for being able to hear what is happening around you and help with my diminished hearing. You have to be careful with them though in relic sites with a lot of big iron. They will rattle ones brain and mine has already been rattled plumb to death.
