I still own three analogs, one of them being a pulse.

The "disconnected" treshold is a digital curse, making it useless for the purpose to hear a faint wisper.

On the other hand, there's a screen to understand a little what's under. It just need some patience for people like Us which hunted by ears for at least a decade.

I don’t know...disconnected threshold (in my language “null di soglia”) in my opinion warns of the presence of a deep target...as far as my type of research is concerned, a hum variation can be a very deep object. Rarely but I have happened to dig deep targets with a threshold variation..

  2. Yes, I like to hear noise from the machine as well because noise tells me that machine is alive. Ok, no problem but that’s not the hum I know. I’ll not select it anymore because in this way is useless. But it doesn’t matter..

  3. It’s a shame. I hope XP will fix this issue because, in this way, threshold is absolutely useless. I think it’s something extra on deep targets. Threshold on my pulse can definitely help. On v3i as well. I think that it doesn’t make sense in this way..

  4. Hi all, I noticed that D2 threshold which I select when I’m in pitch is useless. It’s a steady hum, without any variation, not even on discriminated iron. I love threshold and, in my opinion, D2 hum is useless. What’s your opinion about this?

GRIF-Finds mini tutorials are really helpful. I have a special playlist on my YouTube just for tutorials on Deus 2 by Calabash, XP/Gary Blackwell and a couple others including Grif-finds. Even though I’ve read the manual, these tutorial videos are incredibly helpful. Kudos to all who take the time to make them.

    Totally agree with you

  6. Hello! Don’t worry, my English is very little as well because I preferred looking to girls rather than listening to the teacher!
Anyway, my Focus1 program is based on program 2 Sensitive but with variable reactivity from 1 to 3, depending on iron and trash. Sensitivity 95/98, audio response 5/7,  pitch tone (normal 3 tones if you don’t like pitch: maybe I prefer square to classic pwm ), discrimination from 5 to 6.8 depending on iron size, silencer 0 , iron volume 5 and, very important, ground stabilizer set on 1. Then you remove notch which on program 2 is set to 23-25 but you take it to 00-00. This is Focus1 program. “1” because I’m studying to create the Focus2 program which I’ll share here.
Focus1 was born at home, during an hematite stone test: I wanted a valid program to use on high mineralized soils and I have to say that it’s really performing. It’s specifically indicated for little targets in high mineralized soils and it surprised me especially if I compare D2 to D1 on hot ground. I have to say that Pitch is performing on hot soil and is better than classic pwm or square tones. Please try this program on mineralized ground and let me know!

  7. My little D2 experience makes me think that it’s better than D1 in every aspect. For example general speed and iron masking talking about iron infested sites. Generally much deeper and really another planet on mineralized soils. By the way I have the 11” and think that with 9” it’s very very fast and accurate. I used a 9” with D1 but I stupidly sold it years ago..

  8. Hello guys, did another depth test with a little target, low conductor on high mineralized soil. That target is like if it were a very little and thin coin or anyway a very little target. In the video I don’t talk about the ground stabilizer which makes the great difference between my own program Focus1 and the Sensitive one: Focus is based on prog. 2.  I have to say that on high mineralized soil, my own program is much more performing than the Sensitive one and the critical parameter is ground stabilizer which on my program is set to 1. Sensitive prog. has ground stabilizer 2 by default. The difference is evident..

I understand what you mean but I relic hunt and yes I would like to find the older nickels and low conductors such as some buttons.

In my opinion prog 2 is the best on D2 for low conductors. I did an own program based on prog. 2 but with pitch tone because of high mineralization. And ground stabilizer 1 because of better depth. In my opinion prog 2, in 3 tones, is the best on little targets and low conductors.

.....When measuring the mineralization, the coil must be moving over clean terrain ..., either you sweep the coil for 8-10 seconds, or you pump the coil into clean terrain ...

the coil during the measurement ... must always be moving ...to measure the terrain mineralization response .., because if you stop the coil - the values on the measurement will fall quickly ..

And alternate screen display doesn’t help on this regard. Don’t like alternate screen display. With D1 I always put rc in my pocket...D2 is a new toy and during first months, checking often the screen, I have noticed that the alternating screen is freaking out, mineralization strength graphic is something disturbing..

I will try to GB again and let you know . Btw it is not a big issue for me as my soil is not mineralized  over here then the D2 factory modes work very well for me using the GB factory setting ...

If your soils are not mineralized, you’re lucky! And so may be normal you don’t see any bars on the mineralization strenght graphic! Please let me know..
