Ws6 works fine mudwhale but remote does absolutely nothing

No I didn’t think anything bad about what you said Jeff, I wish I knew what happened so I could let everyone know what not to do, I personally think something went bad inside the remote I can hardly see anything with update doing what it did I think it’s definitely something in the electronics that just shorted out , I updated my ws6 at the same time and they work fine actually I went out and found an 1881 Indian head penny so that made me feel a little less ****** lol

My computer is 5 years old it didn’t have anything to do with the USB port I’ve updated twice before and all went fine , I see other people having the same issues now I’m just waiting to hear back from xp on what to do next I hope this doesn’t happen all the time because I really like this detector, but this is a pretty serious problem for only having it for a month oh well I guess I have the ws6 headphones to detect until it gets repaired . Good thing it comes with a 5 year warranty 

Yes I plugged it into computer again but it can’t do anything because the remote won’t power on , it’s like it just went dead. Even when I put charger on it there is nothing on screen even saying that it’s charging

Just updated and unplugged from computer and my remote won’t turn on it was fully charged , any ideas on what to do?

Hi Strick , I was using stock program sensitive full tones, I almost didn’t keep digging because I thought it was the nails and thought maybe it was falsing  on them but I swung the coil over the hole again and it was screaming then I dug deeper and pulled that buckle out. 

It was a few feet from the cellar hole and it was surrounded by tons of iron there was at least 4 or 5 square nails above it it was about 7 inches deep ,I guess that’s why other detector didn’t get it. I was using sensitive full tones

It's a Federal sword belt plate, quite possibly civil war era. It's missing the wreath below the eagle. Nice find. 👍

Thanks for reply I’m excited to get xp2 , hopefully It pulls some new things out of all the old cellar holes I’ve hammered with dfx over the years. 
 

I know the dfx machine is old but I have used it since it first came out, I haven’t seen a detector worth upgrading from it until now. I ordered the xp 2 and am excited to try it. Just curious to hear from prior dfx users to xp2 users on performance. 

I ordered xpdeus2 a few weeks ago now I’m being told it will be at least March 😞
