  1. Phrunt, you mentioned potential EMI issues multiple times and I am wondering how you are doing your noise cancel? Are you doing the quick 1-2 second press and taking what channel it gives you, or are you doing the "long hold" noise cancel where you keep holding the noise cancel button and the machine cycles through every channel, slowly weeding out the less effective channels until it eventually narrows down to one or two channels, and then finally comes to rest on one specific channel? Tom D has stated that this is a critical factor to getting the best out of the Manticore. The manual mentions it, but almost in passing and really doesnt stress it at all. Tom makes a very pointed issue out of it! Perhaps this will help? Also, are you finding any differences with or without ground balancing? So many factors and "tweaks" to dialing in a new machine to attain maximum performance!
  2. If you are hunting black sand, you should check out the Tarsacci, it was built specifically for that usage and does quite well. Even on land, I would say the Tarsacci has no problem hanging with, or even beating, the D2 in heavy iron patches, and I'm using a 12" coil vs the 11 on the Deus. Both great machines!
  3. I use the 15 on y nox 800 quite a lot and its a very good coil. Its more about coverage than extra depth. You might get another inch or two in depth. As for sensitivity, it is very sensitive. I have hit 22 slugs and mini casings at 5-6 inches no problem. And little doo dads that are so small that the pinpointer has trouble locating them! So, a big yes to sensitivity and a slight nod to extra depth
  4. I have talked to Dimitar a few times and he a but said he is not worried about growing a large company (or maybe growth at all?). Its hard to tell if this is more a passion project for him or more of a business. It seems a cross between the two. It is a shame he doesnt have a front person to do PR and get the word out. Anybody know the reason Aaron left?
  5. Yeah, detecting with wired phones causes annoyances at times. Like many have said, theres the Garrett ZLynk which works fine. The Deteknix wireless unit also works, but knowing their history and how they treated Fisher, I would go with the Z-Lynk on that level alone (beside the fact that Garrett is a class company and better quality!)
