  1. The paddle idea has been around for awhile for those who knew. Nice looking rig. I do like the Bruce Willis vibe you have. LOL.

  3. That Coprolite seen a lot of tongue. LOL. His business card had everything covered from Elephant trainer to Bordello inspector.
  4. I remember John showing me a photo of his dining room table covered with gold nuggets. I wish I could remember his website. He found many pounds of gold.
  5. He will be missed. For as rough as he came across he had a heart of pure gold. I don't know how many steak dinners he paid for at the outings but it was a lot. His pointy finger got me my first piece of gold, I will always be grateful for that.
  6. A young Gerry, Rob with his 9 oz'er and his cousin Chris in the photo above him.
  7. He talks about new detectors around the 6:36 mark. One is for deep gold.
  8. Yes it mentioned that in a earlier video, the one where he is sitting in his car looking at the E1500 on his phone. A lot of people missed the part where he was talking about a new detector coming out besides the E1500. He also mentioned on his forum a while back that he was making a detector, whether or not this is what he is talking about time will tell.
  9. If you get this please let me know how it works out for you.
  10. If you are on Facebook. Check this page out. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2403090723071163
  11. Yea the batteries may be an issue but you should be able to get those there in the UK. Maybe ask on the main forum I know some members make their battery systems.
  12. I don't have Doc's but I do have Coiltek's Pocket Rocket system. Basically the same without the amp. Coiltek stop making these years ago. Yes they are a lot lighter than the Minelab's brick. I did find these a few months ago. https://detectormods.com/shop/63/lightweight-battery-kit
  13. That was coming when Minelab discontinued the 5000.. I wouldn't be surprised if the E1500 saved a few jobs at both Coiltek and NF.
  14. There is a lot less gold than you think.
  15. Look into Self Fusion tape. Zero residue. It is more expensive than electrical tape so may not be a good choice if your changing coils a lot. I have been using this Fusion (Silicone) tape for years. https://www.amazon.com/XFasten-Silicone-Fusing-1-Inch-36-Foot/dp/B01N7KC62D/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=Y9Wzo&content-id=amzn1.sym.35cab78c-35e3-4fc1-aab0-27eaa6c86063%3Aamzn1.symc.e5c80209-769f-4ade-a325-2eaec14b8e0e&pf_rd_p=35cab78c-35e3-4fc1-aab0-27eaa6c86063&pf_rd_r=50A33M0DTKFMDGVMRK4E&pd_rd_wg=fhfKP&pd_rd_r=f6fd3c84-232e-4a24-ab03-d49774039b92&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_atf_m
  16. Looks like the 2nd round are about 4 weeks out and they are taking pre-orders for you folks in Australia and NZ.
  17. That statement has been on their site for years. There have been a lot of changes in the world in the last couple of years. I also wouldn't be surprised if the 5000 gets discontinued worldwide in the coming months.
  18. Yea so did I. I did find it interesting that he mentions other detectors in the works.
  19. He also talks about other detectors coming out. Around the 6:38 mark.
  20. They are sold out. Anyone know how many they made? Curious on how many are out there.
  21. I wonder if that is way Minelab USA wanted $2100 for the 5000 pcb. It's packed up and going to be shipped to Mick in a day or so.
