  1. Wow Wow !!!!!!! I really like this new coil for the "Makro Gold Racer" it hits really hard on coins for a (7.5"x4") coil, I think it is as good or if not better than the OOR coil for the Nokta Fores Core well done Makro a great little coil, I must say.  I think it will be staying on my Makro Gold Racer as my number one coil, it sure puts a smile on your face which I like.

  2. Interesting how white's is responding to this problem with the software and are not willing to do a "TOTAL RECALL" of this MXS Metal Detector, as this will affect the resale of the machine if they don't do a TOTAL RECALL who would want to buy a second hand MXS Metal Detector not knowing whether they had one that was fixed or not, certainly not me that's for sure.

If a car company only fixed a few of their faulty cars that the owners wanted fixed instead of a "TOTAL RECALL" to fix the problem so to back up their BUSINESS NAME in quality built cars, a "TOTAL RECALL" would be the only solution to amend this problem to any problems a rising in the future.

  3. This is some thing I did to my Makro Gold Racer to give it better balance and less strain on my fore arm for swinging it comfortable for many hours, like the well balanced Nokta Fors Core metal detector with the standard coil mounted on it.

I mounted a water bottle under the battery box to balance the metal detector better and can easily remove it or empty for less weight and it keeps the speaker off the ground when I put it down etc.

  5. I think you will find the weather still a bit hot around Clermont in Queensland the middle of April, the middle of May to the middle of August is more comfortable, I'm sure you will enjoy your trip to OZ and good luck finding the yellow.

  7. Hi Everyone,

I don't know why the link is not working in your country but it works in Australia.

Amateur Treasure Hunter Theo is searching for gold in the vast Australian Outback. On his first vacation since life saving heart surgery, he takes a wrong turn, sending him into no mans land. Lost in the wilderness, he walks further and further away from safety, and the searchers who are desperate to find him before the dingoes make their move. In temperatures in excess of 100 degrees, without food, water or his vital medication, Theo faces the biggest battle of his life, a battle to stay alive.

  8. I think most on here knew about the trouble I was having with my new Nokta Fors Gold Plus detector. The first thing Nokta done was send me a new handle being I didn't have numbers displaying on it. They paid shipping both ways but that didn't fix it Remember this company is over six thousand away. This Monday Nokta sent me a new handle and control box all the way from Turkey and I got it today. Well I'm seeing numbers on the handle I'd never seen before. Here again Nokta paid shipping to me and the same going back.

If for any reason you're not sure about putting your hard earn money down on a detector. Well this company called Nokta and people like Dilek has been there all the way for me. I say put your worries aside because this company makes a quality product.

You've heard companies say they stand behind their detector. Well Nokta stood behind it and right up front willing whatever it took to make a customer happy.

I've said this in another post and that this is the first company to pay all shipping. I could have gone around the world for all the shipping Nokta has paid out for.

With me sending back the defective control box Nokta can find the problem. making sure it don't happen again too others..

     Thank You Dilek and Nokta

         Chuck Anders.

Well I have to say that Dilek at "NOKTA DETECTORS" has the best customer service I have come across in my life time, never have I doubted them for a second, they will make things right for you with out any fuss, so anyone thinking of buying a metal detector from overseas would certainly have piece of mine knowing they will stand behind their product and give you the best experience in customer service.

Well, go back up two posts and read my theory. Keep in mind I do not work for the company and do not represent them or sell their products.

Are you aware of any issues with the large coil design that I am unaware of?

    Hi Steve,

I thought it strange that Makro has only re-enforced the smaller coil ears on the NEW "MAKRO GOLD RACER" but not on the larger coil 15"x13.5"DD which not everyone would have bought and used, I have seen that some owners of the first makro racer coin detector were on their forth coil replacement for coil ears being broken and I would only think that coil ear re-enforcement would be the best way to ensure coil ears do not break and customers not to rely on better plastics to fix the problem with coil ears breaking.

From the photo of the 15"x13.5"DD coil for the "MAKRO GOLD RACER" coil you posted the ears still look thin to me, this is why I'm asking the question about the coil ear strength for this coil.

I had coil ears break on my smaller 10"x 5.5 DD coil for my Nokta Fors Core coil as the ears were too thin.

I have great respect for Nokta / Makro company and hope there is no further problems with ears breaking on their coils.

  10. I sure do like the 15" x 13.5" DD coil. Very well done for a large coil and relatively light. I just tossed on my postage scales and with skid plate/scuff cover it is 1 lb 10.8 oz

    Hi Steve,

Why haven't they re-enforced the large (15"x13.5" DD coil ears) when they have already re-enforced the other smaller coil ears and eliminated any breakage on these coil ears, but not the large one which would be more under strain on the coil ears when bumped while detecting for gold on uneven ground ?

I'm very happy the way they have re-enforced the smaller coil ears, but a big question mark why they haven't re-enforced the ears on the larger 15"x13.5" coil.

  11. Hi Steve,

Thanks for your great report for the new "Makro Gold Racer" can you confirm if ?

1/ Makro has beefed up the coil ears around the bolt hole so they don't break anymore when using them?

2/ Also will each coil come with their own coil cover supplied with the coil when purchased ?

3/ Price for the detector with the standard 10'' x 5.5'' DD coil on it ?

4/ Prices for the large coil ? and prices for the smaller coils on offer ?

5/ Price for the wireless head phones ?

If not known maybe "Dilek Gonulay" can  answer these questions for us ?

Will the OLD Nokta Fors Gold Pro-Package COILS on (15 kHz) work on this NEW Nokta Fors Gold Plus on (19 kHz) or aren't they compatible swaping coils from one to the other viser verser etc?

  13. You may have got a coil that had been sitting on a shelf for a spell. It is a known problem with the early coils. My understanding is that the latest coils have been improved.

Since it is a DD coil it cannot be made in an open design but something stouter and less buoyant like the Fisher coil of similar size could have been done. The coil originated as a Makro design and then crossed over to Nokta and so does not really fit in with what Nokta owners are used to seeing.

Thanks! for your explanation Steve, hope Nokta can come up with a solution to make this New 10"x5.5" coil more robust and more flexible to use in water for gold rings beach detecting etc, as well as reliable for detecting on the harsh gold fields which we need our coils to hold up and last in harsh environments and not break.

  14. Hi Everyone,

I don't post very much but I have been detecting 4 years now usually 2 to 3 times a week and recently bought one of the new Nokta Fors 10"x 5.5" coils and one of the ears broke after only using it in parks for 3 weeks etc, not in any gold fields which would put it to the test for quality.

I found that the ears are to thin and the holes are too close to the edge which is a weak point for it to break and that's what happen to my coil.

I wish Nokta made this coil with stronger coil ears with more meat around the holes like the other coils provided in the pro-package deals and made it epoxy filled and even if it had to be an open style coil to keep it light, so it could be used in water, as the way it is designed now it is buoyant in water and not suitable for use there.

Anyway I asked for my money back as I did not want a repeat of this coil breaking at the ears again and I would like to hear anyone elses experience with this coil braking at the ears, as I've had no problem with the other coils in the pro-package.
