  1. HMMM! Maybe I'm going to have to rethink this a little. I have a 9 inch coil that I haven't used. Think I'm going to try it tomorrow. Thanks guys.
  2. Thanks Jeff, I hadn't thought about the space restraints. There is a 5 x 9 inch coil for the deus, I'd go for that. And I would not mins a wired coil at all. I mostly water hunt and the antenna thing works okay, but every once in a while it disconnects for a second.
  3. Hi All, Has anyone heard if XP is going to come out with a small coil for the XP2? I use the 13x11 and I'd like to have a small one for the junky areas. Six inch or smaller.
  4. Thanks Midalake, Just ordered some!
  5. Okay that's cool. What's the wire called? Just antenna cord?
  6. Has anyone had trouble with their antenna wire. My coil loses its connection when I get about waist deep while wading. The antenna wire is discolored at about that point. I think there must be a small nick in the insulation that is allowing water in and stopping the connection. I've got another wire on order but I'm wondering if I'm the only one who has had this problem?
  7. No backmarks that I can make out. I think there will be some. but I don't wan to clean it any more. I'm afraid it won't take much abuse. There is a circle around the shank about half way between the shank and the edge but that's all I can make out. I thought about the phoenix button too. I have found one of those and it does look similar but not the same. Thanks everyone.
  8. Mine's round too. I haven't had much issue with it except in the water. Then it gets loose pretty quickly. I wonder if you put a regular nylon nut on first then went over that with the wing nut would keep it tight. Idea from midalake. Thanks
  9. Will do. I hadn't thought about a livery button. Thanks, I'll do some looking.
  10. Thanks. I had a friend tell me that the British didn't use eagles. Maybe it's not real military, but civilian. Hopefully I'll find an expert. Good Hunting!
  11. I'm from Idaho and we just got back from a detecting trip to Maryland. I found this button but I'm not very familiar with stuff this old. I have Albert's book, but I can't find one exactly like this. I know you folks know everything so I'm asking for your help. Could it be British? There is a circle around the shank on the back but no writing that I can see. I don't really want to clean it much more than I already have for fear I'll lose important parts of it. It's a bird sitting on a fouled anchor, but the bird looks like it has a crown on its head and the wings are spread differently than most of the US buttons. Thanks
  12. Don't think its the remote because I usually don't even take it with me. (Deus 1) I just use the headphones. I'll try the zip tie-that's definitely worth a shot. And I can try one of my other coils to see if the coil is the issue. Thanks for the ideas.
  13. Hey Marty, thanks. I used a homemade cable for a while and had that problem so I got a real deus antenna and I'm still having issues. Any tips?
  14. Hi all, I'm new to this forum stuff. I've been a Deus fanatic for a while now and have used the antenna kit for water hunting. I love it when it works. But, fairly often the connection between the coil and the headphones drops. I have to lift the coil out of the water and reestablish the connection. Then it works for a while and then quits again. It's frustrating and I've pretty much stopped using the Deus for wading. I am think pretty hard about getting the Deus II and I'm wondering if anyone has had the same problem with the Deus II. I also want to use it for my scuba machine and am wondering about the same question for scuba detecting. Thanks for any help.
