  1. Really liked Fred & his zest for life. Condolences to his family & friends.
  2. The most I could make out is HOFF…not enough to go on🙁
  3. After cleaning & looking closer, check out the teeth…maybe a sea serpent or dragon?
  4. Not sure…rings up 21, mostly 22 on equinox Update: scratched a bit of the inside, think it’s pewter
  5. Not sure…rings up 21, mostly 22 on equinox
  6. It appears that only the horizontal narrow tube allows airflow, and it’s only about 1/16 inch wide.
  7. I thought maybe a ceramic bowl would screw in the threaded end and stem fit on other end? But likely part of something else, like old gas lamp…
  8. Found this while detecting for coins & relics in old gold mining area that has a long gone mid 1800s-early 1900s townsite nearby. At first I thought it was part of a smoking pipe, but now thinking an old gas lamp fitting. Wider end threaded, other end not. Ornate fish design and with English lettering on end….can only make out “HOFF”. Whatever it is, pretty cool! Thoughts?
  9. Wow, awesome finds! I’m new to hunting artifacts/points etc…taking a while to get my eyes trained.
  10. Usually I’m out playing with the Gold Monster up here near my cabin, but decided to do something different on a beautiful day. A particular decomposed granite bedrock area amongst some old timer handstackings had been productive with the Monster, so I decided to take some buckets of material down to the nearby creek to sluice. Probably 8 or 9 partial buckets with some pretty nice results! Enjoyed the scenery, the sounds, and the solitude…will have to try this more often!
  11. Thoroughly enjoyed this awesome story re your amazing mini gold excursion! Incredible finds in such a short time!
  12. My favorite nugget, and favorite specimen gold. The nugget isn’t the prettiest, but I found it the summer I retired when out with Mike Bowers & some other Auburn Goldhounds…nice folks. It’s still my biggest I’ve found. The speci was found right here in Idaho a few miles from my cabin on a friend’s claim.😊
  13. Just watched that episode….that road is crazy! What an absolutely beautiful country you live in Phrunt😊
  14. That is so cool! And love how you explore and find your special spots. Those Texas billionaire oilmen brothers have bought up huge acreage where I like to roam here in Idaho….they’ve recently put gates up everywhere. I realize it’s their private land, but to those of us who live here, it’s been our backyard for years. Tuff change for us.
  15. Chet is away at an outing…he’s one of the few who could comment something worthwhile on this!😂
  16. Awesome gold Reese! And you work for it….I use some of your strategies here in Idaho too. Looking forward to your next book!👍😊
  17. Hi Gerry….yep, I’d have to agree with you. I loved my 7000, but where I hunt it was getting to be slim pickins, and the 7 got heavier as my hip arthritis got worse. I just got back from my 1st trip to northern Nv since getting my hip replaced a couple months ago; and with how light the 6000 is, I was able to cover serious ground on old and new areas. I did not have one skunked day, which is unusual. And guess what? I stumbled over my biggest Nv nugget…almost 9grams! And that was in an area of serious EMI. Also rustled up some smalls from worn out areas. The 6000 is pretty awesome!
  18. Bummer re the broken shaft, but at least the target wasn’t another nail….that’d be my luck!😄
  19. I’ll be watching it…I like the Parkers Trail shows better than Gold Rush now. I can’t help it, I love Parker….watched him grow up on tv. Dang, if I were only 40 years younger lol😂
  20. Loved that show! Was able to watch it online here. Hope I can watch the special episode too when it comes out.
  21. Last year my detecting partners and I had a 50% Crap Rate right out of the box too….2 of the 4 of us had to get replacements. That really is poor quality control for sure!
  22. Wow, that’s some very nice gold! As I’ve said before, you are “King of the Patch”! 😄
  23. Sounds like an awesome place to be exploring…solitude, critters, and gold! Appreciate you sharing your experience and thoughts on using the 6000. I had a few episodes of squirrelly emi in Nevada but plan to hunt Arizona next winter…not looking forward to an increase in emi!
