I can't access it either.

Nice gold Condor, hope to get out that way again in the Fall. Spent 17 days out that way in the cold and rainy Spring time, thought that maybe it for a few years but that area keeps calling me back.

Hi Doc! you're the best, thanks for all your hard work on stuff. I have used the "Quipple" for a few years now, great product, it is so easy to use and adjust on the move, saves my back after a few days of detecting.

Watched the most recient Mine Rescue show and saw Steve's apperance. That coil looked huge, thought it was the largest coil not the second size. Nice to see you Steve in a setting like Mine Rescue.

Early on, I think the first season of Freddy's show, he told one of the folks he helped to fill a gold vile and that would be his pay. All of the material used to up-grade equipment is payed for by the folks he is helping. The best gold show on TV because of the help he provides. Gold Rush is also good. I know they are not all 100% real but much better than many other shows on TV.

I still appreciate the Dealers I buy from and look down at direct-from-the -manufacturer purchase. Dealers are people we can meet or call and talk to, willing to help with problems, offer training, offer many other detecting products that you would have a hard time finding on your own or even knowing they exist. No, often manufacturers seem to be non-caring about individuals but look at us as numbers, it will be a shame if we loose our dealers and a big mistake for the manufacturers to ruin a good working relationship as it is now.

Gerry, the 3 larger pieces of gold are, 1.9 and 1.3 grams, another 1.2, all others made up the balance.

As I have become better at detecting, and finding gold in general, I watch less and less videos except for Chris Ralph's vids, he is very generous with sharing his knowledge.

I used the 6000 for all but 1 day due to much up and down steep hillsides ( 7000 for the 1 day). The 6000 is prefect for this type of detecting, light, using just the speaker and no bungee, really good detector. I did send it in to have speaker work done due to advice from this forum and appears to work great, thanks.

Wow ! a super store indeed. Can't top what others have said.

It is called Rye Patch because at one time Rye grass grew in that area.

Rye Patch is a real area. Many folks, including myself, call any area detecting in the vacinity, though it may be miles away, Rye Patch just because it is the most identifiable area. Just because people call detecting in Rye Patch, it may not be the actual place.

Spent 16 days in Rye Patch area in Nevada recently using the 6000 for the first time in gold country. Found 3 small nugets the first day, one the second and one the third, this is going to be good! Ha, went dry for the next 10 days and finaly found 2 more day 14 then 1 more on day 15 for a total of 6.8 grams. Not a large amount but found nothing last year in 10 days so I at least beat the skunk. Had 2 days of beat-down rain and one day of un-bearable wind, several days of cold weather but the last 2 days were beautiful. Met a few good folks also prospecting, alwasys fun to talk with them about finding gold. Good luck to all in your search.

Apex Pick Handle......
in Detector Prospector Forum
Posted
I have used a shovel handle ( need to pick a thin handle top ) to replace a 18'' handle to a 3 1/2 foot handle just using a bench grinder and a file to fine tune the shape to fit my pick. Used the same metal wedge for the new handle. I can stand to dig gold until it is out of the hole now. Shaping a new handle is much easier than it seems at first, give it a try. The long handled pick doesn't work every where but I have 9 picks of different length handles, 9 picks what the heck was I thinking?
