  1. Sounds like WW2 Silver, sad episode in human history. Lets hope and pray that we as a species can progress from discrimination of our fellow man/woman.
  2. Idaho is one of my very favorite places, spent a lot of time there for work. I will be going their now to prospect, thanks for posting.
  3. I agree, Magnetite or Hematite. Check to see if magnetic, more so if Magnetite.
  4. Thanks Gerry, you will be the first I contact when/if it comes time.
  5. Thanks JP, I need to spend much more time with my 7000 to get more comfortable with it.
  6. Hard to believe the 6000 would cost less than the 5000 when it comes out, the 5000 price would drop much below the 6. If the 6000 is around $3000, I would be in the market if it is a huge improvement.
  7. I usually take the 5000 and 7000 with me , love to have a 800 though, I have a GB2 but not the same.
  8. Having a 5000 (and many coils) and a 7000, I am hard pressed financially to purchase a 6000 no matter how good it is, have to wait for a used one someday day perhaps. I am excited to see how it performs though.
  9. I agree, I am rich !!! if lead is Gold, I am in the top 100 of the richest people in the USA.
  10. Bought a pair of Doc's high top boots, haven't wore high tops forever. Always had trouble with "stickers" getting in my socks but didn't this trip. I'm sold on high tops. Thanks Doc!!
  11. I have camped their many times, like the area but have not had great success gold wise. Met some good folks, but the recent revelation of crime and murder will keep me from going their until I hear of the area is as safe as it use to be many years ago. Thanks to all for updates, and please keep them coming so I can eventually go back there.
  12. I tent camped at Meadview RV Park on the week of Nov. 16th. the weather was great, day and night. Didn't make it over to Gold Basen dew to a faulty fuel pump on my side by side. Managed to detect around Lost Basen for the week, not sure when all of this happened but glad I did not end up over there, which was part of my original plan. Did find 2 little nuggets, one .9 gram, one 1.2 gram. Hate that one of my camping/gold detecting places are now off-limits to me. Hope that the law wins the day sometime soon. Be safe out there.
  13. Every piece of "trash" I find I put in a container in my side by side and keep until it's full. Found a lot of lead of all different shapes. As much as I hate finding lead, the mushroom ones are pretty cool, not very common to find in that shape.
  14. Nice gold Lunk. It will be Spring before I get back there to see what I can find.
  15. WOW!! some of those are better than my bottle collection ( except for my modern Crown bottle collection ) Ha-Ha. Good going!
  16. Gerry, I appreciate seeing finds. It encourages me to keep going knowing there are still finds to be had. Keep it up and thanks!!!!
  17. Good finds for a day trip, I agree, Ribeye's are the best!!
  18. I bought a long wooden handle that I am going to use to make a longer handle for one of my Hodan's, probably 36 or 38 inches. The metal portion of the pick is fairly light, the handle will not add very much but add some stability when I climb steep hills/ mountain sides while detecting, when balance is crucial.
  19. No cameras, the attendant didn't even seem to want to hear about what I was talking about, kind of a glassy look in his eyes. I knew really that there was no sense in even bringing the problem to the establishment. Still, it really was my fault in trusting that things would be OK. It really can have an effect on a persons trust and perspective on how you view others, too bad, I hate to think that way.
